normally i would agree, but that stream runs with "human biosolids" that they spray on the trees, i feel like a little shampoo might clean things up a bit.
The feedback on this video is truly overwhelming and unexpected! I didn't imagine it would be enjoyed on this large a scale. I am at a loss for words. To everyone who took the time to leave their piece: thank you. To everyone who lent a hand along the way, no matter how big or how small, you are the best, thank you.
This is what a well chosen carrier looks like! Great job at making me feel so stupid for working in front of a computer haha. Props for everything and mostly for blending very well manmade stuff with nature! Btw, how did you guys bend that log? Did you find it that way or is there a process to make it like that? Thx
Gives an idea how much work goes into minutes of fun for us. Many props to all builders! Everyone who rides should volunteer some time to keep their trails running smooth.
You guys are artists and your medium is Flow. Thank you for building, even if I never get the opportunity to ride your creations. A appreciate seeing how they were constructed and ridden.
This really shows the time and effort put into building trails. This makes me even more emotional about when they are destroyed by people who say it "wrecks the serenity".
Great work & results guys! Given up on building structures cause all it takes is one bad attitude with a chainsaw to render it all junk..ya It happens...Not everyone shares our joy for nailing things together in the forest to play on...this kind of effort is best reserved for the more 'official' bike zones
Riders in Nanaimo are spoilt with not only Mr McLane's build skills, but also his organisation skills have rejuvenated our bike community. True blue dude.
Inspiring stuff!!! Especially the guy washing his balls and a$$crack.
I'm sure it was very difficult trying to decide where that segment fit best in the piece, or if it belonged at all. But you persevered nonetheless and taught us all the importance of showering BEFORE working in the dirt, sap and mud.
Who ever said mountain bikers weren't an intelligent, thoughtful breed?
The chalk line? Its just a piece of string coiled up in a thing like a tape measure, only its filled with blue (or red) chalk. The chalk impregnates the string, and when you pull it taught and snap it, it lays down a straight line for you to follow. Roofers use them, flooring guys as well, guys will actually spray hairspray over the line ones its layed down that way it holds up longer.
Tnx guys, I haven't seen anything like this in Europe, I like these interesting tools which are not available in Europe, like nail holding hammer and other cool tools.
very good video and construction of the track, I was also building tracks, but did not pollute the water with chemicals out of respect for the planet. regards
It's easy to be misled be speed up the footage but it really is a huge amount of work that needs to be put in builng trail like this. Hats off and applause for builders!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure it's done by soaking it in water and gradually applying a bend to the plank along the grain? (the bigger and smoother the bend is, the easier it is).
I know that's one way to bend it but not sure if it was the method used here
when trees grow on a bank, they slowly curve as the bank slips downhill and they grow to remain straight. it's just a matter of wandering around and finding one with the right curve for what you want to use it for. these ones in particular were ripped in two so the curve was a perfect match.
OMG ! First the amazon and now that? They're cutting trees everywhere! I'm suffocating ... Honey, call Green Peace, these bikers are ruining our forests.
I just hope you're kidding dude ? Look at all the trees already fallen, all the perfect wood on the floor ! I don't see any living trees cut in this video, so they just "clean" the forest, no ?
:-(

+Where is this sick track?
Awsome trails guys well done. Enjoy it!!
(Because these guys deserve applause)

(Great craftsmanship, Bill!)
