PRESS RELEASE: JurAlp Enduro Tour

Driven by passion by volunteers, who had no other goal than to offer riders their best trails in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the Enduro Helveti'Cup was born in 2016. Its goal: to create a Swiss Enduro championship, which back in the time did not exist yet on the Swiss territory. Since 2016 no less than 25 events were held under the Enduro Helveti'Cup banner and the first swiss enduro national champion jersey were issued. And more than a championship, through its various events, it is a growing community of riders that was created and that still meets for rides, good times and competition year after year.

It is with this in mind that Bold Cycles founder Vincenz Droux and Bold Cycles decided to join forces in 2019: the spirit of Enduro and the Helveti'Cup fully corresponded to what Bold wished to promote: racing your buddies, sharing good vibes and making new friends and creating a community. Bold has thus committed itself to the Enduro Helveti'Cup as a "naming partner" for a period of 3 years. As a rider Vincenz participated in many events, and was even on the podium several times in the Masters 40+ category.

Today the partnership has come to an end, and the committee of the Enduro Helveti'Cup would like to thanks him a thousand times for his commitment to the sport and our championship and naturally wishes the best to Bold Cycles.

For 2022, we are excited to announce some changes, which were already initiated in 2021. More than ever, we want to focus on the essence of Enduro : a mix of sharing and competition, with a good dose of passion. We want to bring together events that share the same values, the same spirit, within a single tour, regardless of race formats ... or any geographical boundary.

Today the Enduro Helveti'Cup becomes the "JurAlp Enduro Tour", a cross-border enduro challenge, which as its name indicates, will be concentrated on the Jura and Alpine massifs of France and Switzerland!

For 2022, 4 rounds are already scheduled:

- Enduro des Monts Jura - Lelex/Crozet; France - July 30 + 31

- Chaumont Super D - St Blaise; Switzerland - August 13

- Enduro de la Pipe - Septmoncel ; France - August 21

- Rock the Besso - Zinal ; Switzerland - September 10

General informations, rules, links to registrations and more can be found here

With the objective of mixing race formats, letting organizers being creative, and letting other tours focussing on more EWS-like enduro races, the Juralp tour will host various events including "blind racing", long epic races and why not a "Mass Start".

We are convinced the Juralp Enduro Tour will fulfill the wishes of a number of riders.

hmmmm ok interesting as there is a Swiss Enduro Series (see swissenduro.ch) which is 5 rounds around Switzerland and includes qualifiers for the EWS I believe. This feels a little bit like a local enduro series as it's focussed in the Jura region (think of it like a "state" of Switzerland). This isn't a bad thing but not really the Swiss Enduro series and 2 rounds are over the border in France.

Either way it's a great thing to see more Swiss Enduro events happening!

btw i should express i'm just referring to the title of the article. If I was in the Jura area I'd be signing up for this for sure - good luck to the organisers

This is the same organisers and races that used to be the Helveticup and before the SES started last year it was the only big enduro series in Switzerland. The races are really fun, in great locations and some have been running for years. I'm glad they've decided not to follow the EWS format and allow organisers freedom to put on races that suit the locations and offer sick riding without being too serious.

I thought it was really weird at the time, that when we had the helveti'cup, that there was suddenly an SES which made the Swiss National Champion series. Most notable, that there were no races in the French or Italian speaking parts. Also in this years series. There was one round of the helveti'cup in Scuol or so once. But i guess that the organisers of the helveti'cup had a different understanding of what enduro is to what the swiss-german organisers and Swiss Cycling had in mind. Would be interesting to know what actually was going on though. But honestly: the helveti'cup always had much more appeal to me than SES...

This should be the Röstigraben Series or even Röstiduro™

@Phipu: the SES has Airolo, Leukerbad and Aletsch Arena so deffo expanding... Lötschental race last year in Valais was great.. be good to see it all expand across all of CH but then i wonder how many people will tend to stick to up to 2h from home given practise day is on Friday for some races

@korev: Don't forget it becomes a transborder tour: 2 of the rounds of the Juralp Enduro Tour will be organized in France

@motorstone: They could also put a round into the Basel area, I think some people would be surprised how good some of the trails around here are.

 @Billeke:
I would love to share my hometrails in the western Emmental. 5 stages are ready and perfectly suited for racing. Unfortunately the 111 (!) wood owners have something against it ;-((

@sofamac: bwwahahahahaa, ain't that the damn truth!!! here the Forresters take the Ostrich approach, put their heads in the sand and pretend no one wants to ride their bikes on trails in the forests... where's the bloody rolling eyes emoji... perfect fit here!
