PRESS RELEASE: Fernie Enduro

Are you looking for a mountain bike challenge? Look no further, the Fernie Enduro is going virtual this Summer 2020. Get yourself to the top of the trail and race to the bottom!

The Fernie Enduro has been resurrected during these Coronavirus times to facilitate the desire to challenge oneself by charging down a mountain bike trail. The event is free however participants must have a Fernie Mountain Bike Club membership. There will be cool prizes and the ultimate throne titles of Fernie KOM and Fernie QOM will be awarded at the event's conclusion in August!

The trails selected for the races will be DH only trails that are dry and will sustain the event's use. Last year's BC Enduro Series trail usage improved the trails as the racers clearly buffed in the fastest lines for others to follow.

“I’m super stoked to have the Fernie Enduro go virtual and to keep the club’s speed events happening,” said Troy Nixon, FMBC President. “Membership revenues for the FMBC go to supporting trails in Fernie.”

Gearhub Sports will be drawing weekly prizes and crowning the winners with their leading suppliers. Mark Hall, Gearhub Owner/Manager, commented, “We are happy to support this local initiative and have a fun event for our customers to race in!” Gearhub will have prizing from RaceFace, OneUp, Evoc, Sram and Abus.

Dan Savage, Fernie Bike Events, comments, “It’s great to be able to help raise funding for trails by using today’s online technology to host a fun and safe event. And the technology allows me to participate!”

That is so cool two weeks for whoever wants to Kom a couple of trails. Road Trip. Great concept to remove the big clusters of athletes waiting for there turn. Hopefully there will be no French lines cut.
