 @McMeta666: It's only recent that there aren't any magazine sponsored teams anymore. There have been loads of Dirt Magazine teams with even a World title for Vanessa Quin and it doesn't seem like too long ago that they quit. It feels like it lasted much longer than the actual magazine! And from what I understand there was a MBUK team too before my time. I doubt it is easier for a component brand to run a team than it is for a magazine with all their advertisers who are more than happy to see their stuff getting attention on these platforms.

 Agree. I absolutely love the team, they have great riders and definitely some of my favourites, the guys seem to fit together super well, as has been the case for the past groupings too. But the lack of women year after year does bug me quite a bit.

Realistically, which female has been available and worthy of being on that team? Only Vali and Nina have moved in the last few years, both to teams that were also without a top level female.

 @big-sally: Izabela hasn't progressed from junior to elite as well as expected, but she's also had two seasons accumulating injuries. Maybe Rosa Jensen (U17 Gen-S) will?

It would be unfair to single out Specialized, because there are so many sausage parties on the WC circuit.

 @Maxcommencemal: That's true. However, somehow I'd expect this also being somewhat of an image question for the big brands. And it's great they have the Gen-S team going on, but of course it's not the same as The Main Team. And although only a couple of women riders have eventually switched teams in the past few years, it's not to say others may have been open to offers as well. Also they've picked up both Chris and now Jordan straight from juniors, why not get an up and coming woman on the team as well instead of those already top elite Nina's and Vali's?

 I agree. It ought to be the norm that there's both a senior and junior female rider in big brand team setups, not the exception.

 It’s a tie in with trek as he is now part of there freeride program rather than their race program. It means he can race a few WC races with out worrying about how many UCI points he has.

 Brendogs had his own sponsorship program for years and raced under the factory teams umbrella. I doubt there is any change to his sponsorship as a result of this. Probably either had too many other commitments or just isn't bothered about racing anymore

 @catweasel: wouldn't be surprised if he goes full time freeracer away from WC's. Got the impression he's not impressed with the current changes from the e ride companion pod cast

 @catweasel: Yep, they won't be dropping him in the year he's bringing out his Deathgrip 2. I expect you're right and he's just got other priorities for 2024.

If he wants junior to kick asses against aging stars like Jackson Goldstone in a few years, he got to pass the stick to the new gen.

 @sebazzo: live stream. You can find the recordings too, usually at least 4 or 5 hours after the end of the live stream. I sometimes got the recordings the night of the race, sometimes I had to wait until the next morning.

 Neko had a decent budget for WC. Nothing crazy, but decent.

 racing on frameworks, on a US located and funded team, on a US built frame, on a frame he's been winning on and beating top pros on seems like a smart professional move, but let's find out. Of course having a strong team with members he likes also must be a plus!
