World Champs always delivers the goods when it comes to bike tech! Mechanics were busy putting finishing touches to the custom Worlds bikes through today and into tonight, so we'll bring you another round up tomorrow, but let's check out what they had today in the meantime.

Lame how so many countries have red white and blue flags. Be original. Use pink brown and purple or something. Maybe magenta and turquoise?

Dean Lucas is strolling through the pits and see a rather grumpy looking old dude sitting alone on a bench, so he goes over to say G'day. The codger asks him, "What's the story with the hair?" Dean taken back by the aggressive tone replys, "well mate something different for a laugh, have you done anything crazy in your life". To which the dude replied, "Well, I did once got drunk and f*cked a parrot and was wondering if you could be my son"
They both laugh and shared a beer.

 The codger was Steve Peat....lol

Angle didnā€™t move teams mid season, Alex Marin moved to commencal 21 mid season.

 And that's also Marin's bike.

according to vital it is actually Pau Menoyos bike
  • 3 0
@malca: Negative. While both Pau and Alex's bikes are painted the same, you can tell by the fender. Pau's has pink accents while Alex's (pictured) has green.

I am unfamiliar with Schwlabe's Magic Titi tire. Any links?
  • 7 0
looks like they put nicknames on all of them, magic momo for amaury, magic mimi for miriam, magic titi for thibault
  • 11 0
Can't wait for Rob Warner to start calling him Titi during his run!!
  • 8 0
lol, I can't believe they actually printed a one off Magic Titi

@m-t-g: Pretty sure they had to make a few sets. These buys probably burn through rubber like Formula 1 racers.
That's why they don't sponsor Loris. He's a flat tyre magnet.

@SHREDWORX: Then when they're done do they sell them as sloppy seconds?

 Wow, DeanĀ“s bike is amazing.
Big respect to such a well executed homage to Australian Aboriginal art.
  • 2 4
I agree it's beautiful. I wasn't aware he was an indigenous Australian though?
  • 10 0
@Mike-Jay: I don't think he needs to be to honour his country's heritage.
  • 7 0
Yeah I came to say that I like Deans bike the best. He is representing his country and its a good choice better than "green and gold"
  • 2 0
 It's a refreshing change certainly
  • 2 0
@dkendy1: Yeah, I love the theme, super unique. It makes me proud to be Australian.
  • 1 0
Yeah really stood out to me. Beautiful bike.
  • 2 5
Its cultural appropriation, unless the art was done by a certified member of the aboriginal community with the well wishes of all. Then it's fine.
  • 1 1
@jaame: Dont be bringing your colonial ways, telling everyone how, what where and when to live their lives. We have a perfectly good system whereas you just need to say you have heritage to have heritage and thats just how it works Bro. From covid to recognition.

These riders get every race new frames, prints, builds and I am riding the same bike for years and now I feel like aā€¦.feel like aā€¦aā€¦

My 90ā€™s bmx kid self canā€™t help but love the chrome on Walkers bike. Something about chrome and raw frames that always get my attention.
  • 4 0
Agreed. Not sure if it's chromed or just super polished aluminum, but is looks so rad
  • 4 0
@bman33: I can confirm that it is mirror polished.
  • 4 0
Remember those ball burnished gt zaskar Le
  • 9 0
Absolutely love all the Schwable hot patches! Also the suspicious lack of any on the Trek teams tires....
  • 8 0
They're DEFINITELY all riding G5s eh!!
  • 6 0
When sponsor tires have casings with the structural integrity of dry ramen noodles, I guess you run something else. Kind of a shame, Trekā€™s tread and rubber compounds are on point.

Since the tires are almost certainly made in CST factories, wish theyā€™d just spec DD casings.
  • 2 0
@wyorider: Holy crap, thank you for saying that! The G5 are soooo grippy actually. Almost like Michelin, eh!
  • 9 0
 Bike porn overload!
  • 4 0
 NSFW!
  • 4 0
Why is Camille Balanche, the reigning world champ, on the old commencal when you have a bunch of their other riders on the new prototype? Size thing, preference? Myriam and Camille are 1-2 in the overall standings and Myriam is on the new proto by Camille isnt? Seems odd.
  • 15 0
I think only the Commencal factory team riders are on the new bikes. I don't think anyone on Dorval got the proto version.
  • 2 5
@loamfiend: That looks to be the case. Suarez (Commencal 21) and Williamson (Commencal 100%) are not on the new bike either.
  • 4 0
Camille isn't on the factory team.
  • 6 0
@loamfiend: That could make sense. Except Angel has one...Though looking at some instagrams, only Amaury, Myriam and Daprela on Muc Off have them. The chosen ones it seems. I'd figure Camille and Benoit Coulanges would get them before Angel given results and standings but what do I know.
  • 3 0
@sino428: Suarez does have one. He has been on one for months based on his instagram.
  • 2 0
@wilsonians: Yea I see that now. Who really knows. For all we know some riders do not want to switch to a new bike mid season. Maybe only those few riders have had enough time testing the bike to feel comfortable with the switch now.
  • 2 0
@sino428: Suarez is the one of the main test pilot for the bike i belive
  • 4 0
On the Downtime Podcast a while ago, she was asked the question. Her reply was that it just takes to much time and effort dialing in the new bike, and with covid 19 and races moving around, she is sticking to what works for now. Seems like a fair answer. I'm sure we will see more athletes on the new frame, probably 2022 after the offseason.
  • 3 0
Is the rear triangle on Cabirou's painted chrome/shiny on carbon, or is it just white? I can't tell from the photo (may need to get my eyes checked), but I've always wanted a chromed carbon look on a bike. I remember seeing an article not too long ago about a company figuring out how to make that possible.
  • 7 1
Can I just say, the custom painted Commencals are some of the best looking bikes I've ever seen
  • 7 0
So glad no forks are orange.
  • 4 0
I like Mondraker's job and I like 3D stickers with my name on my bike, my car etc so if someone still it and i find it somewhere, I'll give a pair of 3D glasses to the police to proof it's mine!

  • 6 0
Did Trek basically paint some dirt onto white frames?
  • 4 0
It's a bunch of either black or white bikes with some glitter. Does none of 'em know that RED makes you faster?
  • 9 8
Those MT7 calibers on the Demo looks terrible. Also, after using those brakes myself for 2 years + I dont understand what the fuss is all about. The constant rotor rub, bleed complexity and reliabilty issues is not worth it. Magura needs to update the design and not just change the color code on the calibers and new stickers. Riding the Shimano XTR 9120 now, no looking back...
  • 2 0
the real news for the Syndicate bikes is that Lucas paint weighs 20.8g & Gregs weighs 7.2grams according to Silverstone Paint Technology who painted them, how is that even possible?
  • 2 0
To all those who claim weight doesnā€™t matter the syndicate are worried about grams of paint.
  • 3 0
Everyone seems to be really confused about what 3D glasses actually do and how they work. There's nothing 3D about that bike, it's just color filtration...
  • 4 0
The discs on Amaury Pierron's bike look interesting - any infos?
  • 1 0
I was wondering this, all the Commencal team are running them. They don't look like Shimano, more like Trickstuff or similar

NGL, not particularly in love with any of these bicycles. Maybe I'm getting old.
  • 2 0
Luca's, Daprela's and Nicole's bike are beautiful, the others not quite I agree.
  • 4 0
@ORTOGONAL555: Balanche's bike looks festive. I like it.
  • 2 0
Greg Williamson's bike is one of the nicest bikes I have ever seen. Love those copper-ish patinaed looking bits on there.
  • 3 0

  • 2 0
where did all the bling went in these custom painted bikes compared to previous years?
  • 2 0
All I wanted was a big picture of Myriam's Commencal, that's all I wanted...And they wouldn't give it to me...
  • 2 0
All that money splurged on paintjobs and you canā€™t even fit a bottle on these bikes. Total BS. Iā€™m not buying one.
  • 1 0
I think the cable routing behind the seatpost of the trek would stop me from buying one. Is that really the best they could do?

as in, you'll spend a lot of time on this page while you're supposed to be working? Doesn't help that they keep updating it with more pictures every time you hit refresh.
  • 5 2
 uh oh, boner alert
  • 2 1
Greg Williamson's Commencal looks like shit compared with Jannick Lange's. It's like his mechanic isn't even trying.
  • 1 0
I would bet the custom touches and changes in aesthetics is more for the mechanics keeping things fresh for themselves.
  • 2 0
Very cool the 3D graphics Mondraker

He is. That's not his bike. It's either Alex Marin or Pau Menoyo's bike. Angel's bike has a Spanish flag Yellow and Red paint job for worlds and is the new Supreme he's been running all season.
  • 3 0
@jmc361: someone should fix that. Hey @pinkbike can you add Angel's bike, eh?

Kind of dig the smoke paint on the Treks, like the chrome colors from last WC better.
  • 1 1
Usually there is one or two that makes you think why did they do that, not this year, every one of those is spectacular.

@pen9: hahahaha. That's like arguing about which side of the road we should drive on or why your brake levers are flipped the wrong way around, eh?
  • 1 3
@pen9: Mullets are over or at least it's getting there. Lots of well know brands not jumping on the Mullet fad for their 2022 bikes. Great to see
