MRP Ramp Control cartridges allow riders to adjust their forks' progression on the fly without using volume spacers. Options for Fox 38 and RockShox ZEB forks have now been added to the lineup.
The service, which includes a cut steerer, a brake adapter, a baseline set up and star nut and crown race fitting, would normally be a $40 upgrade but is free for a limited time.
MRP's new SXg chain guide has been designed to work specifically with clutch derailleurs and narrow-wide chain rings while offering DH-like protection but without any drag.
MRP's XCG guard is designed to protect your chain rings from damage - especially important considering the replacement price of some of the current 2x10 rings. Watch MRP's own Noah Sears guide you through the installation.
MRP's new G2 Carbon chain guide claims to be both lighter and more resilient to impacts. Watch the video and check out the photos inside to learn more.
MRP was showing off a number of new guides today at Sea Otter:
• Brian Lopes signature model that weighs in at under 100 grams • The new G2 SL that provides full protection at under 200 grams • A new XC orientated single ring guide designed to fit Shimano direct mount front derailleur mounts
Two of the biggest names in downhill mountain bike racing have re-united for 2009. MRP and Cedric have a long history together, and both are excited about what the future holds.
MRP’s World Cup proven G2 and Mini-G guides will be handling the job of keeping Cedric’s drivetrain together as he attacks the nastiest tracks on the World Cup Circuit, as well as some of the premier free-ride events around the globe.
There are not very many relationships in the mountain bike community as long lived and storied as MRP and Steve Peat. For the past decade, MRP has been the chain guide of choice for a legend in the sport of downhill mountain bike racing.
Following in the footsteps of its highly acclaimed G2 chainguide, the Mini-G is just what the name implies: a more compact version of the G2. With the Mini-G, MRP has designed and built an extremely strong, durable chainguide that is also super light. Boasting a weight of only 219g, the complete Mini-G guide weighs less than most bash rings by themselves!
It simply offers the best protection/ weight ratio of any chainguide to date.
Grand Junction Colorado, 1996, a small "Performance Bike Parts" company was born. Mountain Racing Products, or better known as MRP, created their first chain guide. The system 1 was born, and it would forever change the way we kept our chains in line and on our rings. The Pinkbike.com/Devinci DH team is happy to have MRP on board for 2008 with the all new G2 guides.
Building on their integrated guard patent*, MRP will begin shipping a new, innovative series of components designed to protect chainrings and cranks from damage due to the occasional rock or log encounter. The XCG guards consist of a replaceable polycarbonate Skid direct-mounted to a 4mm thick alloy back plate.
Josh Bryceland, one of the most talented youngsters to be seen in many years has signed a deal with MRP. Bryceland will join his mentor Steve Peat as a member of the talent-stacked Santa Cruz Syndicate team this year as they battle for supremacy on the World Cup Circuit.
While not the first or only people to fabricate a chain retention device, MRP is arguably the first to do it properly. When the System 1 was first produced in 1996 it set a precedent for chain guides. When a lot of other people were installing spring loaded derailleur tensioners or chain stay mounted rollers, MRP began to produce the simplest solution to what turned out to be a not so simple problem. As time passed, bike designs evolved, and so did the rider's skill. Their line of guides also expanded to include the System 2, the many options of the System 3, and the latest design, the MRP G2.
I've spent the last few months trying to do my worst to the G2. Want to know how it worked?
I go through a lot of different bike parts and gear. Some of it wears out or breaks, some of it I really regret buying, and some of it I swear by. Stuff Mike Rides will show up every now and then, whenever I get around to writing it. All of the stuff that I don't feel like writing a 9000 word review on will be in one of these. More than anything though 'Stuff Mike Rides' will be about how things held up over the long haul.
Featured in Volume #7 is my I-Beam post and matching I-Fly seat, Troy Lee D2 carbon helmet being modeled by Cori's mom, and just for all the carbon haters out there I have my thoughts on MRP's System 3 done in full carbon!
GRAND JUNCTION, CO -- MRP, the long time pioneer in chain guide design has raised the bar for 2008 with the planned October release of the patented G2 chain guide system. The G2 will be the first model to go into production utilizing MRP’s patented integrated chainguide/bash guard technology.
MRP, the maker of the best chain guides in the world, proudly launches an all new website. The new website is much more user friendly, and features better product photos and descriptions, an improved web shop, a simplified fit matrix and a blog. You can check it out at www.mrpbike.com
The dictionary defines "party crasher" (also known as a gate crasher) as "someone who attempts and often gains entry to a club to which they were not invited, often using social engineering techniques. The party crasher usually tries to blend into the party so as not to be kicked out." To MRP, or Mountain Racing Products, the Party Crasher is a light weight, polycarbonate bash ring that accompanies their System #3 chain guide.
Thousands lined the course Saturday for the annual Red Bull Downtown race in Lisbon, Portugal. They gathered to watch Steve Peat defend his 5 consecutive titles of this challenging and unique race. Every year the best downhill racers in the world converge here to test themselves and their equipment on terrain quite different than the typical World Cup. Paved drops, staircases, flat corners, high-speed cobbles, and big crowds make this urban downhill difficult in many ways.
