Round Two of the Sturdy Dirty Enduro Series was Smoky and Mystical

Round two of the 2017 Sturdy Dirty Women's Only Enduro Series brought us to the small town of Oakridge Oregon. The looming total solar eclipse and heavy smoke from nearby wildfires created a strange but mystical feel to the race. Oakridge was once a booming lumber town, but has since seen a resurgence in outdoor tourism created by the world class mountain bike trails that have been built and maintained by the central Oregon mountain bike club, Desciples of Dirt. From deep canyons, monster climbs, high alpine meadows, to face melting DH runs, Oakridge threw everything she had at the racers. The course consisted of five stages, with the pros and experts having to do a sixth stage off the backside, then back climb up through thick wildfire smoke that made simple breathing a challenge. But these ladies are tough. Most being from the Northwest region and accustomed to this sort of riding.

The season finale is at Big Bear, CA on October 14th. Hope to see everyone there!
