Schwalbe tires is looking to crack into the DH tire market in a bigger way with their newest offerings, the Dirty Dan and the Wicked Will. Partnering up with the Fox / Yeti team is going to be a great way to gather that all important real world testing and development too. At the Sea Otter we were able to sit down with Henry Horrocks and talk about the new 2010 offerings.
Check out the pics and video inside:
Henry talks to us about the new tire offerings from Schwalbe:
Schwalbe Wicked Will:
The Wicked Will is a DH specific 26x2.5 tire. It comes in a Triple rubber compound, with a double carcass casing to reduce pitch flats in the rough stuff. New LST beads make this tire stay in place.
Schwalbe Dirty Dan:
The Dirty Dan is a MUD specific DH tire and comes in 26x2.5. It is available in either a Gooey Gluey or a triple rubber compound. Hot ticket would be a Gooey Gluey up front and a triple compound out back. New LST bead technology on this model too.
-Triple compound rubber means that the outer knobs are softer for grip and the inner tread is firmer to allow a lower rolling resistance.
-Gooey Gluey compound tires are softer across the whole tread pattern and offer greater grip at a higher rolling resistance
-Limited Slip Technology (LST) has been re-vamped for the 2010 tire models. The bead has a tighter fit and the rubber is tackier to keep it in place when hard on the brakes or getting zesty.
-New 2010 models will be available this May.

I wonder what the weight is like compared to their closest rivals ie. the ones they copied
Shame there's no 2.3 though...
