The last of our flicks:
"Dartmoor: Inside Story" let you see some "
behind the scenes" of our daily work. You could meet the people who are creating Dartmoor-Bikes on their hard work and love for cycling. In 2014 we would like to present you the stories of the most standing out persons in our family. People from the
#RideYourWay series are connected through their passion – bike and how it influence their whole life.
In the second part of the series you can get to know
Remek Oleszkiewicz, one of the best all around riders in Poland and our friend who is riding with us from the very beginning. In this part he collected a bunch of friends to travel and enjoy riding in Croatia during the winter time. As you can see it is not a mellow enduro trip but a real struggle how to find a trail under the piles of snow! So why did they go there?
After a few calls, couple of emails and a day long drive the crew consisting of our technical designer Jan Kiliński, photographer Kuba Konwent, video makers from ASF Studio and certainly the riders: Remek Oleszkiewicz and Aleksander Wieczorkiewicz got the shore of Croatia. The very windy shore as the guys quickly learned after losing a door in the van when they stopped for a short break under the Krk bridge.
Short night later the crew moved towards southern Dalmatia and reached Makarska Riviera with high mountains starting almost from the sea shore. It looked like a perfect place for the riding but when they came to the city of Makarska to find accomodation they barely could find anyone. This area of Croatia looks like abandoned when there are no tourists. Most of the hotels were closed and it was hard even to find a place for a dinner. While on the search for it, Jan tripped over at a harbor and went straight into the Adriatic Sea. When he discovered it is not as cold as he thought the others joined him for a quick swim. Diving in the sea in the winter is worth catching a runny nose!
On the next few days of a trip filming went down in the local area. Makarska’s region offers a lot of beautiful wild single tracks and a lovely old town going down to the sleepy harbor. It was the perfect place to test new Dartmoor's
Primal,
Primal 29 and
Hornet bikes equipped with our full range of wheel sizes (26", 27.5" and 29") and the latest components.
Those who give up on the first obstacle never go far enough to see the bigger picture. Remek knows a lot about it thanks to his daily life. Despite being a pro rider, he runs his own bike workshop in Zamosc and when the season changes he prefers to teach people as a ski and snowboard instructor. It is not easy to live just from the passion you try to share.
His riding mate
Aleksander Wieczorkiewicz learned it as well during his work as a bike mechanic and getting it along with a pro attitude for racing. Telling the truth, everybody on this trip can relate to the statement above. But this is the
#RideYourWay of their lives and it is all about some beautiful memories they have collected on the road.
