@stinkball: maybe it doesn't translate internationally but in straya I've frequently heard and seen 'guys' used to refer to a group of both men and women and even just women. 'The boys (bois)' on the other hand is used for... well, the boys.
@dirtyburger: a friend of mine works for a big USA company, they had a group con call last week, 30 people, at the start the manager said well done guys meaning everyone... at the end of the meeting he asked if anyone had anything to add ... 1 person said they took offence to his " guys" language
Is this the EWS race report...? Hope not! We are talking about World Series... the best of our sport... I came here expecting to see flying drones chasing riders like in Canada few weeks ago... Not live but at least some progression... And I found some 90s not even Alex Ranking vibe... Came on EWS!
@PauRexs: The EWS has a coverage issue that seems to be really holding it back. They are running races on awesome tracks with world class riders and the highlights end up being 3 or 4 corners/features from the entire race.
Damn that's gotta suck?! Waiting all year to go racing, then when you can, it's crap weather conditions... Hats off to all the guys and gals, have fun, enjoy yourselves ... Hopefully have amazing weather at the next race stop
-Ella and Joe looking very smooth in the wet, slippery, chunky bit. Shoulda put the Scots on the fantasy team.
-Isabeau never seems like she's on the edge and maybe the perfect example of smooth is fast.
-Flying Flo did not look like he was flying.
-Surprised to see Kevin Miquel loses it in the chunk given how composed he usually is.
-Maes hanging it all out like it's nothing.
Looks like a tough day in the saddle.
2 pairs of gloves, jacket storage.. this is mountain biking with whatever the mountain throws you ...the waterproof jacket was mandatory, checked at start.. only the top 30 women/men didt have rain only during the final stage..everybody else, soaked wet throughout the race, snowing at the top,...
@Jmorgue: Possibly more layers, to switch depending on temperature. At this time of the year, temperatures in the alpine can go from 30 degrees to 5 and back within hours. (Celsius, obv.)
That looked pretty wild, like old school SDA conditions. Props to all the riders. Amazing to see the difference that speed = grip, but going fast in those conditions means removing brain!
1. The weather in the mountains can change quickly.
