Polygon UR Welcomes Joe Breeden to the Team

by UR Team

We are stoked to announce young blood to the Polygon UR team with the venue of Joe Breeden. When you have such a talent looking for a team, we felt that we had to give him a ride.

Joe is a 20-year-old rider from the UK and before riding World Cups, he was playing football at a high level. He fell in love with bikes after a friend took him to Revolution Bike Park. In 2017, he got a silver medal at the junior world championships in Cairns.

His first year elite was a bit of a blur after a severe injury and last year was his first real full season. Joe did a couple top 25 at World Cups and you might remember that with a little help from the weather, he qualified 1st at Val di Sole. Joe’s future is bright and we are excited to work with him!

Joe will race all DH World Cups and will also do a selection of enduro races.

bigquotesI am beyond stoked to be joining the Polygon UR team, they seem like a great group of people and brands. It is by far the biggest team I have ever been on and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together.Joe Breeden

COOL ! Our Crew newest favorite WC racer. Kinda crazy. Joe's Intense got lost on its travels to the Snowshoe World Cup. This pale skinny old, stringy haired delivery driver (dashing fella) walked into the open front door of our condo at about 2am and just stood there like a old vampire next to several of the boys as a 7-8 of us were shouting stories, drinking beer, laughing, just having a wrap up of the Friday practice day activities. Dude stood there quietly for about 5 minutes until, I finally was like, "dude, how ya doin?" we all thought he was one of the the others friend, I mean, just wandered in and was suddenly in our loud circle.
Turns out, he was lost luggage delivery from Dulles International, and he had Breedens bike !. We accepted the bike since he had proper address to deliver to. Signed the paperwork.
Sat at 7:30am three of us took the boxed bike and tried to find the Intense UK pit, we assumed they would be sharing space with Gwinn and Mullaly. No go. Hardly any of the race teams were in! We ended up asking the GT guys next space, if they could get the bike to Breeden and they took it in .
Course, Breeden had qualied already on a borrowed Scott by then, and stayed on the borrowed bike for the race.
The man took a solid 34th. And now the boys and I are committed to be his US fan base .
Pedal hard Joe, on that wild grasshopper Polygon!

Well deserved! I’m hoping for big things for Joe, now on a full factory team with a time served team mate like ‘sick’ Mick to share his wealth of knowledge!

I really enjoyed the podcast you did with him - it would have been tragic if a kid with so much talent (and a sensible head on his shoulders) hadn't been picked up.

Loving your work, by the way!

And speaking of support... Why haven't pinkbike sponsored a podcast with the legendary RC? Make it happen Pinkbike! Levy talking about his Grim Donut project would be a fully entertaining listen too...

Saw Joe at Revolution last week. I had no idea who it was at the time, he was just a nice chatty guy on the uplift with a quirky bike. Sick guy
