The one thing Americans like more than the old 'Red,White and Blue' is good ol' Camo.
The orange stickers are genius, looks like all your 'Camo' hunting gear with the Orange on it, so ya'll dont shoot each other in the face when ya'll go duck huntin.
@darkmuncan: you cracked me up with this comment bud, I’m from Georgia and was in a fraternity at Alabama and graduated in 2015, and all of my buddies roasted me for mountain biking. For example, I drive a truck and my best friends joke I need an orange Honda Element with a bunch of Dave Matthews stickers and shit all over the windows
@darkmuncan: I had a tough time deciding, so I just voted for the session,(cuz all bikes look like sessions) that I couldn't see. Now I feel like a douche.
@RichardTaylor1: frat boys will roast you for anything We just made a Freeride "fraternity" at Clemson SC where people drove both trucks and Honda Elements, so it was good. Not too much Dave though.
@darkmuncan: Yup, going elk hunting next week. We didn't have to buy a single pound of beef from a grocery store last year, planning on that again for next year. Full freezer!
I'm really not sure about the oversize tubes of the carbon bikes, they look kinda like toys. It's emphasised scrolling pictures going from Tues to Furious
Haha, my rear drop-out is held on by tiny screws, I kind of want to weld it to the frame. And it's made in Taiwan. I don't really trust it, but it was the closest thing I could transfer parts from my old frame with ovalized headtube. Also when I called their customer support I got a bunch of BS. Also it was fairly expensive, and the graphics on it are stickers. Also the seat clamp is ghetto AF. Would never order a frame from online again.
@ERG: it’s not a dh bike though. It’s a 160mm trail bike with a boxer bolted on to it that evil has sent for its athlete to complete at rampage on. Joke of a company.
@thenotoriousmic: maybe he should have signed with a company who makes a DH bike then. I’m sure he knew the deal going in. I have no idea what other offers he had but he ended up on evil. Why call them a joke when they are out there supporting the guy when it seemed no one else wanted to.
@thenotoriousmic: I mean, you know Aggassiz has chosen to ride Evil frames and compete at Rampage on that bike right? No one forced him to sign with Evil, and he knew he was competing at Rampage before he signed.
@Kramz: What does made in Taiwan have to do with it? Aren't most frames made in SE Asia? Yeah, I hate the stickers graphics on my Evil too, but haven't had any issues with the seat clamp whatsoever. And their customer service has been really, really nice to me both with phone calls and emails over the past 3 years.
I wouldn't really call the Wreckoning a trail bike - more of an Enduro rig. But I'm with you on the 160mm rear travel bike at Rampage not making much sense. I'll be interested in watching if he sends it big with that bike compared to the other riders. Or if the bike explodes.
Also, I own an Evil and I love my bike and have had great experience with their customer service over the past 3 years. So I'm really happy with their company.
While certainly not Rampage, Luke Strobel has destroyed the rest of the pros of the NW Cup and other DH races on his double crowned wreckoning against full DH sleds.
@LukeBurgie: yeah...I’m used to it after spending the last 28 years trying to explain why TOOL is the best metal band ever. New flame up in 3...2...1....
I would like to have a table with the used components and wheel sizes / tires. I am especially interested in the pedals and the shoes they use. Perhaps even the safety gear.
Yup, the performance side of it as well. I know people like to say it's the rider and not the bike but when you put a bunch of equal riders together then the bike makes all the difference. The previous Gambler was a disadvantage. Scott knew they had to make huge changes and they did a great job.
Sort of happy people haven't gone for Semenuk's just because it's Semenuk's. Don't get me wrong, i adore the colour way. but there's for sure better options. looking at you Wallace/Fairclough/YT Gang
So many of these would be improved simply by having black forks instead of red/purple "team" forks. The fact that there's so many black forks here makes this set of bikes look so much nicer than a lot of the WC DH bikes.
So what's the deal with every single SR suntour DH athlete running a DVO coil? not just in rampage but in general? is there a partnership between DVO and SR? Why not run any other rear coil? Does it have to be DVO if you run a double crown SR Suntour?
yeah, I'm wondering if he's just doing this for brand exposure and plans on taking it easy on this bike, or if he really sends it big like everyone else. If its the latter, I'll be watching closely how that bike responds - I like Evil bikes and I hope it doesn't immediately explode when hucking off the mountain.
@slovenian6474: lmao...seriously? The engineering that goes into every aspect and component of a mountain bike is based on a measurable or rating. DH frames are overbuilt in areas like the head tube and swing arm. Look a little closer at an EVIL next time you see one and it would be much more than all these PB trolls could say!
...and no, it’s not like your pussy ass Trail Rated Jeep that’s been marketed to dentists, it’s more like the understated simple strength of my Toyota Tacoma.
@ERG: I ride a wreckoning so I see one quite often. I was just curious if there was actually a spec or rating. From your reply it sounds like there isn't and it's just self-awarded. Engineering is one thing. Rating is another implying it has met certain industry criteria. Trail Rated is a self-awarded badge. Same with TRD Pro.
Just something to note as well, if you look back into Evil's history there are a lot of broken frames hiding in their closet that almost put them under. This was well in the past but it certainly looks like they've updated their DH rating spec since those days.
@me2menow: ...and you sound a little butthurt because you’re one or all of the above. I rarely scroll down to you jackwagons , but today was fun! bleedblackdieevil
@ERG: teach me how to be as cool as you dude. Maybe one day I can suck off a whole bike company. I know the first step is to sell my jeep and get a tacoma
To many comments to read through to see if anybody has addressed this already: what single speed chain tensioner are these guys using? It's pretty popular it looks like, understandably cause most ss tensioners are pretty junk for DH. Thanks in advance, sick whips out there dudes!
I am not a Specialized owner, but surprised they aren't represented here considering how big they are. They don't sponsor this kind of rider or their bikes can't handle rampage? Just wondering.
Well I choose Brett Rheeder's Trek Session,Im from Argentine "The ass of the world" and I have EXCELENT TASTE. Now every body knows we WIN and bad luck to me Im not American, just a "CALI LOVER"
I gave my vote to Kyle Straight's Commencal. I really wanted like that bike more but it was in a three way tie with Rheed Bogg's Session and EJ's Session. Tie breaker went to the Hot Rod Red Commencal.
Had to get with Sorge’s bike. Sure it’s an ugly frame but the paint is dope and being from Nelson BC and going to sacred ride all the time, the stickers are the best. I have at least three no whining stickers myself
@covekid: its a nice way of ridding a proven cheap fork without looking like you went to low end. Reality is, I certain 99% of riders are more then happy with a grip damper, but we go that extra mile to make sure its pimped. I truly do wish they would have went with a coil setup though and made the "marzocchi line" basically a cost effective coil version of the Fox line.
Ducks are colour blind !
People don't call it "camo-loops" for nothing.
Is Brendon’s a Mullet bike with a 29” front wheel?
The NS Fuzz is a few years old, can’t be good for brand image their rider not using current models.
...and no, it’s not like your pussy ass Trail Rated Jeep that’s been marketed to dentists, it’s more like the understated simple strength of my Toyota Tacoma.
And about taco, my neighbor who is a dentist drives one.
Second, you can rate whatever you want if youre the one coming up with the rating.
Just something to note as well, if you look back into Evil's history there are a lot of broken frames hiding in their closet that almost put them under. This was well in the past but it certainly looks like they've updated their DH rating spec since those days.
We all win.
Creative department: I've printed off some stickers with your name on it. Enjoy, and please don't stick them on crooked.
Or anybody knows how 27' bikes work with 26 wheel sizes?
funny too that vinny t is using the alu frame because the carbon ones apparently break so easily
???? Trek Session
???? Trek Session
Weak pieces of shit.
