Press Release: Pace Cycles

Welcome to the highest performance Pace ever and the darkest horse from our stable. A carbon composite thoroughbred conceived to be ridden hard, yet stay poised and unruffled.

We believe the RC295 is remarkably versatile; as happy in the trail centre as it is on an enduro stage or any trail paved with mud, roots and rocks. Utilising the latest generation of our unique free-floating suspension system and fitted with a metric shock. Long, low and supremely composed - we'd like to present the state-of-the-art RC295. It’s been a year since we revealed our new prototype Pace RC295 and since then we’ve been putting in the hard miles, sweating the details, and buffing the design for production. And now we’re ready- tooled up and fired up with the first production frame out of the mould and ready for assembly with our latest 2020 build kits. Like our other framesets, the RC295 will now be available as an Ultimate Rolling Chassis, Factory Ultimate complete bike build (as well as a Custom Build Option) and of course a Frame only option but within that frame kit we thought that a premium product like this should come fully loaded.

We’ve equipped our Pace frame with the Rockshox Deluxe RT3, factory tuned to complement the kinematics of the ‘295 with the shock and also featuring an Offset Bushing to allow adjustment of the bikes ride height and compliment your choice of 29er or 27.5”+ rear wheel.

The frame also comes equipped with a top drawer finishing kit- Thru Axle from DTSwiss, Seatclamp from Hope and a complete spare Pace Gear Hanger Kit.

For protection, we’re also including a full-size carbon fibre frame protector for the underside of the mainframe custom moulded by Rockguardz, plus a pair of Armour Tubes to protect the cables and hoses beneath the BB.

All the above package is available for £1899. Pre-order open now. Delivery: All sizes due in January.

Colour: Gloss raw carbon finish with a matte night khaki stickers (under a matte lacquer). Only available in this colour.

Bah it's not a hardtail. Clickbait junk. Seriously , always wanted a Pace back in the 90s. This looks really sweet. Deck it out in Hope and Renthal for the full Brexit edition.

Yep, needs Dt Swiss suspension (ex Pace) and some halo vapour 35s on there

 Brilliant!!!

Amazing they can sell this at £1.9k when the market seems to price a frame like this around £3k without all the extras like the rockguardz.

Geo is absolutely banging. Can’t wait to try one.

$2500 USD before shipping which I can't figure out because Pace just wants the deposit. Probably $120 USD for frame delivery to US??

My Chinese carbon fs frame was $600USD shipped. There's plenty of margin in their price.

There's a guy around here who uses an old square tube Pace as his pub bike, I'd love to buy it off him and give it a good home...

@korev: gotta love a guy who has a pub bike

Every company should make a dream build video when they launch a new bike. I'd never even heard of Pace and I found myself wondering if I could afford one

Long, Low and Slack Trail Bike! Ideal for razzing about in the woods or a mountain adventure!

Slap a 150mm fork and the geo gets really really close to a Stumpjumper Evo on high mode.
Funny how when those came out last year everyone was like "they're mad! That thing is unrideable! Steering too slack! BB too low to pedal!"
  • 2 0
@Arierep: I can confirm it rides amazingly. So much fun! Playful but yet composed!
  • 3 0
 @DannyOC: like their hardtails.

FAO Bike Industry, can we have a single standard that defines the way in which seat tube angle and top tube length are measured. Measure the top tube length and seat tube angle at a defined seat height, which is based on the expected rider height for that size.
  • 3 0
Kinda is already that way. (Reach, HTT & WB)
But I agree that companies need to put more emphasis on actual & effective STAs

I was all in on the rolling chassis option but a BB Height of 327! Yep that’s low, I test rode an S-150 which was quoted at 345 & constantly tw@t’d the pedals on that! Where can I test ride one??
  • 2 0
Yep they’re not only brands to fail with low bbs

My ibis mojo was always bashing rocks etc even at correctly set up trail sag of 25-30%

Good for PACE Cycles for sticking in business and having a go as this looks interesting compared with so many pricier option
Maybe I’ll just find myself looking at their site sooner rather than too late ;-)

This has been the week of bike releases followed up with with Gee Milner Dream Build videos. I like this trend, and its only Tuesday.

This bike looks like so much fun! I hope I get a chance to try one out someday.

Like the look of the rolling chassis option....more companies should offer this.

Rider pic at the end reminds me of the thing @TEAM-ROBOT wrote about insta style photos of riders going round a corner.

I like the vertical shock on the DW/Maestro design - plenty of space for a water bottle. Now please show us some kinematics figures, thanks.
  • 3 0
Graphs and shit please. Nerds gotta know!
  • 3 1
I like how it looks. Many carbon frames have something wacky going on in my opinion.
  • 2 0
Is this the special Xmas Dream Build?
  • 2 1
Hmm that linkage looks strange but I am sure it works as well as any other bike!
  • 3 2
Why are cables and hoses still being routed under the bb???? Poor design

Sram Guides are one way of making a bike fast, or rather not slow down...
  • 3 1
@korev: G2s are one of the most well received brakes of the last decade. Try 'em out and stop basing your opinions on the previous gen.
  • 4 2
See Ibis, this is how you make a sexy looking bike.
  • 2 0
yes better than epregnant bike, just give me one.
  • 2 0
That is a lovely looking bike.
  • 1 1
Cable routing under the BB tube...Who thinks that is a good idea, especially for a bike that was apparently designed in the Peak District and the Moors? I'm OUT?!
  • 2 0
If you're managing to damage the underneath of you BB then maybe don't buy this bike and use the money for cycle coaching.
  • 4 0
@fatduke: thats total bollox. You can't stop rocks hitting the underside of the bb especially when riding on scree. The pace has addressed the issue well though with supplying armour for the cables.
  • 1 0
@fatduke: are you offering to coach? Assume you are a total pro?!
So you are saying that if you ride in the Peaks (Beast, Spud Alley, Cavedale, Stanage Edge, just to name a few), you don't have a great chance of something hitting your BB tube, either yourself dropping something big or a rock strike? Maybe you just ride smooth blue lines...
  • 2 1
@gbcarmona: dude if managed to hit your BB on any of those your line choice is shite. If you hit the down tube that's understandable done in many times.
  • 1 0
@fatduke: Tru dat, i've lived and ridden in the Peaks for 20 years, never hit my BB shell. In fact I've never ever hit my BB shell anywhere ever, Who the f_ck does that, don't you have a bash gaurd?
  • 1 0
@sclark1972: I'm not saying its impossible. I've rattled the lower downtube in the peaks but the lower of the bb is a unfortunate occurrence.
  • 2 0
Looks nice. BB is super low at 12.87 inches.
  • 1 0
Why such a long seat tube! I have short legs and it is the first geo number I look at. What a pity.
  • 1 3
people viewing this were SHOCKED when it became apparent it was horrible to look at, you wont believe what happened next
  • 4 4
 Rear ends minging.
  • 3 4
It start off well at the headtube and deteriorates the further back you get........

@titaniumtit: I was riding Pace's round Eastridge when you were crapping in your hands and rubbing it on your face (and if you did'nt get the Point break reference than I'm not sure I even want to know you).
  • 1 1
 @watchmen:
