NS Bikes 2011 Complete Bikes

Dec 2, 2010
by NS Bikes
As usual at this time of year NS Bikes is officially presenting their 2011 complete bikes offer. The bikes will be available worldwide in the beginning of December so if you still have not checked the specs and details of their 2011 line now it is the best time to do it.

Check out full specs and loads of photos inside!NS Bikes is well known for building great frames and components but since the introduction of complete bikes a couple of years ago they have become one of the key products in their offer. Same as the rest of their components the bikes are designed in cooperation with worlds top riders like Martin Söderström to be perfect in every detail. Complete bikes are a good alternative for those who do not want to build up the bikes from scratch and are looking for a complete package designed especially for them by a company which specializes in this exact kind of bikes.

At first there are no visible changes but as always it is all about the details which make it so unique. Besides new colors and finishes there are some new features and changes that will make a lot of riders happy. Also from this year all bikes are manufactured in Europe and they are powder coated to be more scratch resistant.

In 2011 Holy bikes will be offered also in 26" wheel versions and those of you looking for a smaller version of Metropolis will be glad to hear that Metropolis 2 will come with smaller 24" wheels too. Most bikes come with a revamped geometry and newest components from Octane One, Odyssey, Marzocchi, SRAM or SALT.

HOLY
Street / Park / Pumptrack

photo
The Holy is the perfect complete package for hardcore street and park riding. Compact geometry, no unnecessary parts, a nice price and lots of space for upgrading and fine-tuning makes this an ideal option for riders of all levels.

The geometry is based on high-end aftermarket frames made by NS, so when you slap on a suspension fork of your choice, the bike will have the same feel as the bikes that their pro riders use. But even right out of the box these bikes rock.

The bike is ready for this kind of stuff because it has all the features of a modern pro-level dirt bike. The geometry and parts have been chosen the brand's top riders, therefore the build is significantly different than what you normally find in "corporate" bikes.

CORE
Freeride

photo
The Core is a true freeride hardtail that will feel great to ride hard on any kind of challenging terrain - from big drops and jumps to long climbs and winding singletrack. Steel is the ideal material for this kind of bike - it's strong, not prone to catastrophic failure and does not transmit vibrations as harshly as the aluminium in frames that most manufacturers specify.

The geometry of the Core is identical to the Surge aftermarket frames. The bike will be stable at high speed and on big airs, but will also allow the rider to pedal back home quite comfortably. So if you want a do-it-all hardtail, you should be riding this bike.

ANALOG
Fixed Gear Freestyle

photo
The Analog is a complete bike from NS, based on the Analog aftermarket frame and fork. Although at a first glance it seems like something completely different from other bikes in the product line, it is in fact a bike that has a lot in common with NS philosophy.

The Analog is pure fixed gear freestyle bike, it is not a traditional track bike! It's strong enough to trick, but still very light. It uses the same tubes as NS Bikes dirt jumping frames. It has the same attention to detail and the same focused design as all other NS products. It is in essence, a radical no-compromise trick-track bike that can also function as a great bike for high-speed everyday commuting.

NS products have been used by fix-trix bikers for several years, especially the forks, that were a very common site in fixie bikes around the world. The guys from NS teamed up with a group of the most influential fixie riders and came up with designs and ideas that materialised in the form of a fixed gear specific frame, fork and a complete bike.

There are now lots of new-school riders doing hardcore moves on their fixies, but not too many bikes, frames or forks that are strong enough to handle this kind of abuse. Analog product line should fill in this gap perfectly.

The Analog frames will fit tires up to 700x38C and will be barspinable with this size. The geometry is different than that found in traditional track bikes - the length of the top tube will be longer in the corresponding size and the use of shorter stems (40-50mm) is strongly suggested to achieve the correct riding position.

true, a good starter bike, minus the rigid. i wouldnt sugest riding rigind unless your naturally super smooth. then fixi does look absolutely rediculous though. absolutely aweful.

Well, with the price of Holy a rigid fork is the only right option, especially since it is designed for street use mainly. However, if you want a suspension fork, then go for the Metropolis 3 which is more dj orientated. It just propably costs a little bit more Frown

i was running rigids on my street/park bike, they were fine

nice line up, apart from the "Core".
having a front mech on a freeride bike, why do bike companies do it????
it must be cheaper for a company to come up with a chain guide or tension system.
  • 1 0
Agreed, all it does is bring up the weight, add cost and make the bike look bloody nasty. Bit of a no-brainer really.
  • 1 0
because it's supposed to be an all round bike, not a freeride specific bike
  • 1 0
Yeah but even for all-round riding, you don't really NEED two chainrings up front, let's be honest
  • 8 1
What about NS slopestyle full suspension bike?
  • 1 0
Not available as a comlete I guess Frown

Fixies have never floated my boat but an MTB fixie with flats?! That is a tempting commuter for sure. It'll pay itself off by saving my 3 x 10 drivetrain from overuse and road grime.

im usualy a big hatter of the mass productions stuff. but ive some of the ns stuff up close, and i must say i am very impressed, these are really nice bikes and i think its great to see a company that is really putting an effort into giving customers quality vs cost parts. they are in no way budget or anything, their all reasonably light and amazingly priced. awesome job NS

Pretty funny Fixie... I roll to work on something similar to this. I mean the frame, wheels and bars department - it's just I'm not a nonconformous metrosexual fashion-wannabe so I still have breaks and gears on it Big Grin

In most countries(I definitely know Australia and Canada) it is illegal to sell a bike without brakes. So by law they are forced to sell it with them.
  • 1 0
I know it's shocking to hear this, but a lot of people like to have brakes on their fixed gear bikes. I'm one of them.
  • 1 0
It's illegal to sell bicycles without a brake in the USA as well.
  • 1 1
