MDE BIKES is a small company located in the heart of the Piedmont’s Alps, a place rich in historical trails for Italian mountain biking. It is in these places that they come to develop their ideas and their products and along these trails the first tests of the new frames are made. The frames are designed, developed and manufactured entirely
handcrafted in Italy.
More details inside,
This means that each frame gets started and finished at the same time and very often by the same welder. They make extensive use of parts made by CNC, with milling machining centers of last generation. The tubes are made to MDE's own specifications using the latest technologies such as hydroforming and are designed to ensure the appropriate response to stress according to the part of the frame where they are placed. The tubes that they use are made by the major leading companies of the world such as Easton, Dedacciai etc.
MDE uses three suspension systems, two of which are theirs:
I-link and
Dh-link. These are applied on high-end frames. Monopivot is used for mid-range frames. The two owner systems are virtual pivot of last generation and ensuring high efficiency in pedaling and are completely active under braking. These systems ensure the right fitting of the compression curve on the frames.
I-Link has a marked progression along all the curve of compression,
Dh-link is linear in the first step only to became very progressive at the end. Some frames use the MDS (
MDE dropout system) that lets you choose six different options for the rear dropouts.
Each frame can be custom built, (including the full-suspension) to the rider's personal requirements - this is much appreciated between professional racers.
