Luca Shaw had a big crash last week while he was in San Romolo with the rest of the Syndicate team doing some last minute prep for the first World Cup of the season in Maribor.
Initially everything was looking good and he thought he only had a sore shoulder to contend with, but after a tough two runs in practice today, the team took him to hospital to checked out. The result? A broken collar bone.
We're gutted for Luca and wish him the best of luck with the recovery.
Well that sucks, but this year he's gonna be riding race day like qualies last year, so he's gonna have to at least give someone else a chance. fingers crossed your back on it for the next round
broke my clavicle riding my old 426 dirt bike, was good as new in a month. Broke my ankle on my mtb, was out for 5 months. Dude, take the clavicle injury!!! Dont nobody brake their ankle.
DAMN, I had my fingers crossed it would NOT be him, glad it was not a clean break, those take WAY longer to heal. Also glad it is now than in middle of the season, Luca should be back soon.
Interesting twist after Loris voiced some notable frustration with being told he couldn't go to the iXS race last weekend. Sounds like the riders were forced to go film somewhere instead of preparing for the World Cup, and one of them was injured in the process.
jeez I broke a helmet in a similar manner to that once, biggest crash of my riding life, I was a concussed angry ballbag to live with for a few months he got lucky!
Novice opinion but I do think that injuries like this are a good thing, because it's enough to keep you honest, but not gonna be a big setback in the scheme of things
From a race point of view probably not good, from from personal experience enforced time off the bike has me coming back to it with so much more enthusiasm so you can take some good from it
