Jess Blewitt has wrapped up her 2022 season with a Red Bull helmet after Brook Macdonald surprised her with a new lid after the downhill racing at Crankworx Rotorua.
The past twelve months have been tough for Jess with multiple injuries breaking up some incredible results and rides including multiple top-five World Cup finishes and becoming the
first Woman at Red Bull Hardline.
While Jess is still recovering from the broken collarbone she got at Hardline we can't wait for her to be back on the bike and see what she does next year.
I'd be curious how Red Bull's revenue and/or profits break down between beverage sales one the one side and on the other the F1 team, events like Rampage, Hard Line, Ice Cross Downhill, Cliff Diving, FlugTag, Moto GP Rookies Cup, soap box derbies and on and on.
They sell billions of cans a year for like $2-3 a can when it costs probably $0.20 each to produce. Do that math and its an enormous amount of profits from selling drinks.
While a lot of people act like the stuff is poison, there is nothing harmful about Redbull as long as it consumed in moderation (like most things). Look at the ingredients, it’s basically just sugary water with caffeine, taurine, and a few vitamins.
I’d say changing one’s diet to focus more on nutritious whole foods would have an infinitely greater impact on overall health than cutting out a can of Redbull.
"It wears the helmet I signed with pen or it gets the hose again."
Thomas Frischknecht, probably.
Snowboarder Enni Rukajärvi left the RB as she felt that she didn't want to be sponsored by energy drink company.
Lazy churnalism or too attached to the advertising teat?
Possibly simply because Monster don't use that phrasing in their press releases?
Fkn Americans always have to turn things sour with your stupid comments. Can’t you just be happy for someone else achieving something.
People are free to empty a can and refill with whatever drink they desire, but more often than not if an athlete wants to actually hydrate, they have branded bottles to drink from. Sealed Red Bull cans full of water don't exist.
To get sponsored by I would say most high profile brand ? To say oh Nar I like monster better. Common sense bro.
My helmeting was a huge deal, and happened the night after Crankworx after everyone left and our kids got permission to stay on the land for a few days and ride up before we left for yellowstone and glacier during the off days between whistler and rotorua. Camp was kicking, a few off our kids where in the kitchen getting dinner ready, some kids were getting the fire started, and me and dawn and few others where out on an aline mission. This was just after the sun went down, we where walking up to camp (camp goodness sponsored by cookies, that is!!!) when 7-8 of our kids are walking towards me with this distinct look on their face. Now, about my actual Red Bull helmeting.. Catch me in the real world sometime, ill tell you over a beer, but something like that is just to personal to discuss over the internet. Lets just say it was special. I will say this, after i got the helmet, dawn gives me this huge kiss and is like "baby you deserved that."
After i got the Red Bull helmet we all had a huge celebration. It was a special time. We had a huge family dinner, and after dinner beers and blunts came out and everyone got ceremonially stoned by Tippie.
Getting your Red Bull helmet is a BIG deal, and its a huge thing. If its done right, its planned in advance and its a huge surpise to the kid in question.

The sketch kids you speak off probobly bought their wings. Wings arent to be bought, or put on yourself.
You earn wings by bringing your energy to the scene day in day out, letting your light shine, and proving time after time that you are FAMILY. Just by being a solid kid.
Wings are a big deal, and i didnt even understand that until i got my helmet. Having a pair of wings on you does a lot for you. Regardless of the few sketch kids who either have spent to much time on FMB tour or bought their wings and helmeted themselves, when someone sees you have your wings, they know you've been around a minute and that your trustworthy, and most importantly, that you are family.
It took me years to get my wings and i didnt even realize i was being watched and that i was wanted.
Im a terrapin over the Bulls. Mine was worn for years by the kid who helmeted me before they were put on me.
I caught the NWD videos, but i dont consider myself to be a Freerider kid by any means. I love the classic VHS, but it just wasnt my scene, i missed that wave. Having wings and all that comes with it really has nothing to do with the dual crown forks or single crown, its about family, and what this scene is all about at its heart. It says a lot for a person if they have their wings.
