There is so much personality behind the name and so many reasons to love it!
The biggest mistake one can make is to believe that he is just a clown, a bit too noisy, a joker and totally unpredictable. But the story of Yoann is much richer and deeper than this.
We accompanied him at home, in his everyday life, whilst also competing at EWS Whistler.
“Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving.” Albert Einstein.
If we could all be a bit more Barelli in life, the world would be a better place. So before you make that next important or potentially stupid decision, take a moment to think... What would Barelli do?
such a nice an inspiring human! met him beginning on june at the lift station on my first day in Whistler... took me for 3 rounds to show me around... legend!
That was cool. I like seeing little stories like this about riders. You get a little more sense of who they are away from the bike. Been a fan of his for awhile. Really hope to fun in to him on the trails one day cause' he seems like he'd be a blast to ride with.
I love the music. Moonlight sonata. Great for a soundtrack of a movie, where a guy climbs up a fireroad, it gets dark and he comes upon Yoann blowing bubbles. Hi! Th dude says. Yoann says nothing looking at him with a blank stare. Camera zooms out and pans put to the mountain view, flying over the valley. A scream can be heard far away. In the final scene Yoann stops by his car at the bottom of the hill and wipes goggles of blood. Music still playing as the view blacks out and credits come in
Like a Barreli version of McConkey's dark Machete ski film, only with so much more laughter! Come on, you cannot have Yoann in a movie without laughter!
I had the chance to meet him very briefly this summer at Top of Lord of the Squirrels. While taking a quick break on the descent he stopped to have a chat with us which was super cool as we had been watching some of his videos the night before.
He is just like you see on the video - a super nice guy with infectious energy levels and a great attitude.
Photography and riding gnar. Two things I can relate to. Spending quality time with your new born. You got your priorities down .
Good luck on the next year competing.
Finally met this guy at Crankworx this year, in person...he's a very nice guy, not that these athletes should be any different than the rest of us, but, he went out of his way to converse with people in the line, no pressure. Good fella.
Have you tried it? Maybe that could be the thing to make you stand out from the other candidates undertaking the interview process...
is an awesome guy
We all love him so much !
Même si tu as un peu laissé tomber les Grenouilles pour rejoindre les Caribous...
T'es un modèle mec ,bravo !
