After the excitement of the first round of the iXS cup becoming a mini World Cup with riders practicing on the Maribor track before the real deal the second round would turn out to be just as intense. Following the forecast of extreme weather for Sunday the organisers decided to move finals to Saturday afternoon. A combination of tricky roots and plenty of mud the conditions made for some difficult racing for those who attempted the course.
In the Elite Men category, the top five would be split by over eight seconds with Kevin Maderegger coming out on top with a gap of 1.7 back to second place, Constantin Ruetsch. Brage Vestavik would finish the day third having looked quick all weekend, Matthias Hafner and Romain Croz would complete the podium. Lea Rutz would dominate the Elite Women's field with a margin of over 26 seconds back to Alessia Missiaggia in 2nd. Silja Frohlich would place third and be the only other rider to come within a minute of Rutz's time. Lisa Gava and Lisa Rohrbach would both finish around a minute and a half back from third place.
