PRESS RELEASE: Fasst Company

Introducing Fasst Company's new Flexx mountain bike handlebar. When the trails get rough and you demand every last drop of performance out of yourself and your mountain bike look no further than Fasst Company's Flexx handlebars to help push you further. Flexx Handlebars absorb shock and vibration, isolating your body, allowing you to ride longer and with more control.

flexx handlebar

TECH SPECS

Weight, although a nuisance, is often worthwhile to reach an end goal. Think of the necessities you carry when you ride. A trail pack with first aid gear (200g+), spare tube (185g), phone (130g), GPS unit (30-130g), water bottles (16-20oz), the list goes on and on, adding a few grams here and there. Necessary for a responsible and measured ride, but aiding in performance? Probably not. Flexx Handlebars will add about a 100g over most traditional handlebars. Arguably the most valuable 100g you've ever added. Flexx Handlebars will literally take hand discomfort out of the equation, boosting your performance, increasing confidence, equaling a level of ride enjoyment not attainable before.

Rise: 25mm
Clamp Diameter: 31.8mm
Weight: 430grams
Width: 800mm
Upsweep: 5*
Back sweep: 8*
Materials: American Made UD carbon, 7075 Aluminum, Ti-6Al-4V
Effective suspension travel: 5*, length of bar dictates overall travel.
Elastomer included: Soft, medium, hard compression and rebound.
$499.99 USD

Made in Utah. Made in the U.S.A.

 They had me at "elastomer".
  • 18 0
100% . They had me at "Fasst Company". I can't believe it. No comments on that yet? You guys are slacking. This is obviously the perfect bar to run with your Assegai tires.
  • 4 1
Not to mention Assegais probably run the company, etc etc. This belongs right up there with Formula "Neopos", Maxxis "Assegai", and another couple I can't remember cause it's the middle of the night. Gold, just gold. lol

I'm expecting more smart asses than on an Ellsworth press release or any article that mentions Brian Lopes.

"boosting your performance, increasing confidence, equaling a level of ride enjoyment not attainable before" ... they rip this off a gas station bathroom vending machine?
  • 20 0
Not to mention "take hand discomfort out of the equation"

"Ride hard. Ride long, Ride Fasst"

......$500 buys a lot of weed.
  • 55 6
Weed huh? Ill buy your $500 dollars for $400. Take it or leave it.
  • 6 0
 good deal
  • 12 1
 But not 430g of weed!
  • 19 0
@chillrider199: Do you accept Canadian Pesos? Because you have a deal.
  • 6 0
@billreilly: depends on your source and the quality of said product. I may or may not have been on spring break in Acapulco and gotten 1000g for $100. If the authorities ask, though, I made this story up.
  • 94 4
Why would anyone (but Americans), want an American flag on the bars? Maybe we should all get matching Taiwanese flags to put on the rest of our gear...
  • 1 0
Well hey you gotta have a stamp there that you paid 600% tariff on that right?
  • 81 4
an industry going crazy.... first superstiff everything up... then add some primitive non-ergonomic quad suspension bars, squirmy plus tires, super wide slow rims, and add an electric motor as well since new ppl riding mtb nowdays are hopeless professionals. btw there is another company making those... for few years... i think they are out of business.
  • 67 3
 Is it April again already?
  • 16 0
Try again. They've been making the same kind of bars for MX bikes for years and years
  • 20 3
@YoKev: theyve been making mx tires for years too doesn't mean i need them on my mountain bike for 5 times the cost
  • 10 1
@makripper: MX tires are cheaper than mtb tires, aren't they?
  • 4 1
@Minikeum: was having a conversation with a friend, he gets (admittedly used once) track tyres for his R6 for less than i get mtb tyres for
  • 11 4
this is the dumbest thing to come to MTB handlebars since this garbage: www.pinkbike.com/news/wtb-padloc-grips-review-2016.html

who knew so many people could come up with multiple bad ideas revolving around the handlebar. what an age we live in. incredible! Wink
  • 1 0
@Minikeum: I was comparing this 500$ bar to other bars.
  • 1 0
@GumptionZA: yeah it goes either way with track tires. For us it's 20$ crap or up to 150$ for something good per side
  • 11 0
Don't forget stuffing your tires with pool noodles!
  • 1 0
@makripper: man that sucks. Lucky for me the big tire seller at our track days lives in my city and is a Pirelli dealer and does the superbikes for 350 a set installed.
  • 3 0
@makripper: You can get excellent moto tires for cheaper than mtb tires. And honestly, the flex bars really do dramatically reduce arm pump on a dirt bike. If these perform as well as the moto counterparts, they're a god send.
  • 68 1
I hope they release crank arms *fingers crossed*
  • 2 0
You have to save those ankles if you plan on riding into your thirties! It's science.
  • 36 0
Flexible handlebars or very high volume tires (plus, etc.) are not the anwser. A properly dialed and regularly serviced quality suspension fork is what will "handle the rough stuff" for you.
  • 1 0
 That's right !
  • 12 2
but how else will i be comfortable riding down a fireroad on my hardtail being a bro "bikepacker" YOU JUST DONT UNDERSTAND ME. I AM SPECIAL AND DIFFERNET
  • 3 0
 thats what she said
  • 3 0
Well this guy runs a suntour duralux, save the money on a fork, spend it on bars lol
  • 1 0
@thustlewhumber: Not really, my fork is practically brand new and even with the high sag percentage (literally 35%) and 0 clicks of damping the fork still has vibrations, that's the point of these and oneup bars, then i can set my suspension stiffer and still have less arm pump, my arms are dead at the bottom of the silverstar dh course, which if you don't know, is 2-3 minutes long (2 being pro and 3 being general racers)
  • 35 2
I've been anxiously awaiting the return of elastomers in a bike product!
  • 28 0
We've come full circle. Just wait until someone comes out with the solution to the dinner plate cassette problem; two and then three front chainrings!
  • 5 0
 @gibbon-on-an-orange:
That/'s genius. You should patent that before SRAM or Shimano beat you to it
  • 29 1
in 1993 we had the flex stem:
www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/Girvin-Flex-stem_27539067
You could change the elastomer to make it softer or harder... It sucked hahahahaha !!!
But I'll be interested by giving a try to this Flexx Handlebar to see what it does in real life riding Wink . Just curious
  • 4 0
That was for the plebes. Girvin offered a one-piece Ti option where the stem was welded to the bar. If you really want to get fance i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz226/ViperPilot2/P1000791.jpg ...parallel action and a proper damper.
  • 1 1
@alexsin: pleb* and no one wants to remember those piles of shit.
  • 31 9
Fasstco is a very well run company who took 5 years to develop these bars.Their Flexx Moto bars are the "must have" item for all us old Moto guys. Game changers even for highly tuned and perfect suspenion bikes. I have no doubt these will be very well received particlularly for ENduro Racers and those that ride really rough and rocky terrain. Groomed flow trail and weekend trail riders probably not.
The pivot and small amount of travel is virtually imperceptible when slamming across big chunky stuff. But you will notice the relief in arm pump, shoulder pain and hand numbness. I will be getting set.
  • 11 6
With well adjusted suspension and correct tire pressure flex handlebars become unnecessary.
  • 14 2
Good to know these are already being used for moto, they'll definitely work. The main point of these bars is that when you whack them they won't vibrate like a tuning fork at a frequency that's harmful to your body causing fatigue, like aluminum bars do and why Spank added the Vibrocore to theirs. But almost no one on here's going to understand that...
  • 12 1
you know, for a price comparable to other handlebars I'd actually be curious enough to give it a try but there is no way in hell I'm gonna spend 500 on it
  • 2 0
I didn't know that. Looked them up, watched a couple of their Youtube videos that had remarkably civil comments. Do moto guys like this because their tires and suspension don't really damp trail chatter because of a dirt bike's speed and weight? Does that logic translate to bicycles?
  • 6 0
You cannot cannot tell me that the amount of vibration feedback reduction on a dirt bike application will automatically and effectively translate itself to the mtb industry. I'd imagine these make a difference in that moto...because there is a motor that rattles the frame. Decoupling that makes sense. But in mtb...???
  • 4 0
I have ridden a friends bike who has a set here in St. George. They really are amazing! They do everything they advertise; it is very impressive.
  • 21 1
sometimes i'm convinced pinkbike publishes these press releases because they know exactly what the comment section will turn into.
  • 18 2
So we take one of the three direct inputs to bike control (bars, saddle, pedals) and introduce a moving variable to it? Please tell me how this is a good idea, rather than improving your suspension and using less overkill bars?
  • 16 2
Saw one of these last month at Angel Fire on a guy's enduro bike. He loved it. Said eliminated hand numbness and arm pump for him. He said it's NOTHING like the Girvin flexstem of the past. I did not get to try it.
  • 3 0
Are you talking about Chris? Rides for Evil?
  • 1 0
@shawnca7Big Grin idn't get his name but he was on a Transition.
  • 1 0
 Didn't
  • 8 0
I typically try and avoid commenting on anything, but this is strange to me. I've owned several pairs of Flexx bars on various dirt bikes and never paid more than $350 for any of them. The moto versions are comprised of more material including two cross bars pivot bolts elastomer and a bar pad. But are less than these. The bars do work very well without a doubt. This seems like a window into an industry based on 1000% mark up to me. Guess my love of bikes has become a vice. Sigh....
  • 7 0
Just a guess but making them light enough for mountain biking while still strong is more expensive then a heavy pair for dirt bikes
  • 1 0
Are the Motocross ones carbon fibre?
  • 2 0
Market forces. Sales volume. Amortization, etc. Any mtb part is at least this much more expensive than a moto part in general.
  • 3 0
@ADanielWeaver: This. Making things light is harder.
Cost: Steel<Al<Carbon.
Weight: Steel>Al>Carbon.
Durability: Steel>Al=Carbon.
Manufacturing cost: Steel<Al<<Carbon.

A gallon of gas weighs about 6 lbs, and a stock dirt bike tank holds about 2.5 gallons. Most riders won't notice the difference as the weight drops over the course of a ride, but try putting 10 lbs on your mountain bike top tube and not noticing. That's why mountain bike parts seem relatively expensive.
  • 10 1
A lot of closed minded folks/comments here. These things are the gold standard in off road moto for guys with hand/wrist/elbow issues or just old guys in general. I know folks who can't ride without them on moto.
  • 3 0
I think it's mostly the cost ruffling people's feathers, read the comment above yours
  • 2 0
I thought this was a joke. Now I know they are real, which begs the question: why did they make such a silly video?
  • 12 5
I've been riding these bars since 2017 and raced several Enduro events on them. I can honestly say they're worth the $$. Honestly don't mind the extra weight hanging over front tire either, seems to only improve front wheel traction on my bikes, but the biggest thing is a plusher ride for sure!! All I can say is don't go hating something until you've tried it and this product is worth a demo.
  • 10 1
Shock absorption is a job done best by your tires and suspension. This seems to be a solution to a problem that shouldn't exist on a bike that is setup correctly.
  • 17 6
 This is a joke right?
  • 10 1
If you scrolled straight to the comments (like I did) go back up and watch the video. Cringed so hard.
  • 15 3
I read until I saw the price, the scrolled the rest...then saw your comment and hit Home to check it out.

"Product of the USA baby!!! WHOOOOO!!!"

And now....now I kind of want to suck-start a shotgun.
  • 7 0
I am old and intend to ride myself into the ground. If I could start over with a few mods, I would include something like this. For now I'm using Spank Vibrocore bars on my bikes and capsaicin on me.
  • 1 0
Hi, did you notice any relief from the vibrocore? Asking as I get numb hands after about 5miles on a trail ride an have tried about every grip, thick thin hard soft, with no difference. Running Renthals at the mo
  • 2 0
@nojzilla: I definitely did. Not gonna lie, I thought they were a little snake oily. But they got rid of all my claw grip. I also moved to a larger/softer grip which helps a ton.
  • 2 0
@MortifiedPenguin: cheers for the reply bud. I'm also thinking of going to non lock on grips as, I've read that the plastic core of lock ons can cause vibration with the bar.
  • 3 0
@nojzilla: I got the Deity Knuckleduster grips and they made my hands feel way better. I use a carbon Fatbar with it
  • 1 0
@nojzilla: I just installed the sq-labs 12* backsweep handlebars and it made a massive difference to my hand numbness. It took about 3-4 rides to get used to the back sweep but now it feels normal fir the most part and I have relief. Worth taking a look at, I’ve now ordered a saddle and grips from them after being so happy with the bars.
  • 1 0
@nojzilla: motorcycle circuit racers add weighted bar ends to reduce vibration. Not seen this in MTB yet but worth a shot. Heavy things vibrate at lower frequency.
  • 1 0
@nojzilla: I have had good results with renthal push in grips, medium compound, and vibrocore bars. Grips wired on and not glued.
  • 3 0
@nojzilla: i run vibrocore bars and deathgrips, you dont notice your not getting armpump/hand cramps until you get it, and you think" f*ck ive not had it in ages". Ive had it once in 18months after a brutal day at revo.
  • 1 0
@scoot34: crazy thing is. I don't get it on DH, just trail riding
  • 4 0
 I too enjoy hot peppers.
  • 1 1
@nojzilla: It seems more of a fitment issue, like your seat is too high, or your brakes are rotated one way too much. If you haven't already tried it, drop your seat a few inches to help remove pressure from your hands. from my own experience.
  • 1 0
@MattyBoyR6: seat is perfect, I've recently put the stem up 10mm. Believe me when I say I've tried every bar height, tilt etc etc.
I have read the Renthal bar is very stiff from other riders with similar issue.
  • 1 0
@nojzilla: I know this is a late responce but this is exactly what these bars are for the relive hand numbness and arm pump. I would know because I have a pair! The best thing I have done is add these to my bike!
  • 10 0
Can you fold it on the fly when trees are too tight?
  • 5 0
"take hand discomfort out of the equation, boosting your performance, increasing confidence, equaling a level of ride enjoyment not attainable before." Just what exactly are they advertising here??
  • 8 2
They've been making these for MX for a while now: fasstco.com

My buddy has a pair, it made a noticeable difference in reducing engine vibration in particular.
  • 88 3
I find my Trek Fuel EX gets real buzzy above 5000RPM
  • 4 0
 @DonkeyTeeth: 150 tooth eagle cassette?
  • 1 0
@DonkeyTeeth: My R6 hit the sweet spot for the girl riding with me at 6800 RPM. So far only the really 'friendly' ladies like to ride my handlebars DH.
  • 8 0
I'll have the roast duck with the mango salsa.
  • 3 0
To be honest, I don't understand this style of product lunch. Especially by a controversy product like this one, it nearly screams fail with this kind of presentation. Nearly everybody looks at the price and already has a bad prejudice about it. Why not lunch it with a product test and a behind the scene story. By this you can explain your idea and make sure everybody understands it or at least has seen the advantages of your product. Also, it might be a good idea to announce a price spectrum, rather a predetermined price. So, you can make slight adjustment to that.
  • 6 0
 My fingers get tired.

Can you put some elastomers in my brake lever blades?
  • 3 0
 You need finger rehab:
youtu.be/gwY4IPfrIW8
  • 4 1
If this isn't a joke, why did they make such a poor video with no sound and no real evidence of how they actually work? And the guy and the end saying "Made in the USA baby" . If it was April the 1st I wouldn't be so confused.
  • 3 0
Why doesn't someone come up with something useful like a suspension beer koozie that mounts to the handlebar and keeps the beer floating so no it does not shake it up. Then, mid ride...a perfect non shaken beer. Now I will buy that.
  • 5 0
Seems like a missed opportunity to integrate a stem into the handlebar. That could help justify the price ... somewhat.
  • 4 2
Now eliminate the elastomers, go coil first, then air. 500$ then 975$ (because it has to be under 1000) finally 1499$. Perdy please???

Inovative for sure but I'll stick with my deity Enoki's to solve those "problems" thanks for the offer though!
  • 2 0
Plenty of haters....but hear me out. I'm 42, I've been mountain biking for 30 years, I don't like smooth bitch trails, I like the real deal. My hands have been killing me for years.

Now that there is another attempt to damp out shock to your hands, I'm certainly going to try it! If my hands die on me 3/4 of the way down instead of 1/2 way down, its a win.
  • 2 0
Thought about this the other day but dismissed it as impractical and probably of little use. Lo and behold....it appears and for a price that is well....a month's worth of weed. Fuck that.
  • 2 0
 Damn, Sir Smoke-a-lot.
  • 2 0
You're either paying way too much for weed or smoking like a freight train Wink
  • 9 4
nice try it's a bit late for April Fools!!!
  • 1 0
Funny how a Factory motocross team can spend tens of thousands to build a race bike and the bars they use top out at $150 for the best money can buy ei. Renthal Twin Wall

Same amount of material and technology gets put into a mtb bar and its $300+
  • 6 1
cheap, strong, light... pick two. I believe that ol' saying applies here.
  • 2 0
let me say that you can buy flexx bars for Moto and there much more intricate and a 1/3 of the cost the Mountain bike industry is really charging ridiculous rates for shit. I'll stick to my alloy fat bars thanks!
  • 3 0
Surely nothing can beat an alloy fatbar?!
  • 4 3
This coulda been really nice to have back in 2014 when fox forks did indeed leave my hands numb as well. Fortunately suspension is incredible now and this product is moot. But I do question the people who thoughtlessly follow the 35mm bar trend... there's a reason Enve makes their bars 31.8. For some reason that common sense hasn't managed to trickle down to the common peoples' carbon bars.
  • 1 0
so thats why my chromag bars on my dh bike are 35mm and take the edge off better than any other bar ive tried? 35mm actually does make a difference and as long as their laid up right the comfort is there..
  • 2 2
@slipnjloc: I mean as long as you like riding your bike nothing else matters... but if chromags are the best you've ever tried I bet ya haven't tried Enves. Not saying you should, it's a bonkers price for a bar, but they are quite good.
  • 1 0
@slipnjloc: I have Chromag 35mm on my enduro bike.....they are awesome and I don't suffer from numbness at all now...I also have broken my wrists heaps of times skating....and still they work well
Blah
  • 1 0
Who thinks this stuff up .and more interesting who said yeah we'll go with that.
I'm all for more stuff , more choice ,and you don't have to buy it i suppose.
I wonder if it helps on the climbs at all ( get marketing working on that one)
  • 1 0
Part of the issue with products like these is lack of good comparison reviews. Whisky makes a really noodley carbon bar, titanium bars have long been said to reduce vibration, Spank Vibrocore, we've got those Revolution Suspension Grips, and now this. There appears to plenty of ways to reduce vibration, but currently it's up to the consumer to both test and waste money on products that may or may not work.
  • 3 0
Someone tries something a bit different, Pinkbike commenters who all clearly know much better revert to type and just slag it off.
  • 1 0
The people who market these products are useless! Should have used the cash they spent on this press release and pinkbike's fee and just paid Sam Hill or Aaron Gwinn to put them on their bikes. Leaked some spy shots, win a race and boom! All these naysayers would be selling their gran to pay for a set...
  • 1 0
 @VorsprungSuspension

stop me if I'm wrong, but...
If they rotated the pivot plane to be closer to paralell (which I realize would mess with reach/sweep), the perception of fork harshness would be WAAAAAY easier to percieve (because it would balance x-vector relative to our horizontal travel relative to the ground.
  • 1 0
Hilarious, the bars cost more than the fork.

If you are going to spend your money, buy a good fork, my personal bias towards the 19 fox with the grip 2 damper (its surprisingly goodr).

If that's not enough I would invest in @revgrips long before these. I currently do not own or use rev grips.
  • 2 2
I quite like these much simpler forms of minimal suspension that look back to the pre-suspension era in the late 80's and early 90's. I don't remember anyone trying this approach. I do have a '92 Alsop Softride Powercurve with their flex stem. Its awesome for gravel and XC. I also have an RS suspension post and a freshly serviced Post Moderne suspension post I swap between my classic hard tails sometimes. I don't see the point of this for bikes with suspension forks but I like it as a retro upgrade on classic restification builds.
  • 3 1
Does anyone remember Crowbars from the 90's? Not the Bontrager ones, there was a Crowbars brand suspension handlebars. Pretty much this product but probably way worse.
  • 3 0
After watching this video, I'm thinking about switching back to rigid forks, seriously!
  • 2 0
I ride locked out and I am starting to loath the extra weight up front. Thinking about a good rigid fork for my XC hardtail but they cost more than a damn Fox.
  • 2 0
I honestly can't say if I'm for or against this but just the headline and the price tag made me feel like we're back in the good old nineties!
  • 3 0
If you ride motos as aggressively as you ride your mtb, you’ll know the benefit.
  • 3 0
Whatever, if Sam Hill got on these they'd be the next hot shit that everyone wants.
  • 4 1
Try them, you might change your mind...
  • 2 0
Can we do this for pedals, cranks too? I can't have my upper body flexing without the lower.
  • 2 2
So for years we have been trying to make things stiffer and lighter, now we want it less stiff and heavier? Huh!?

Hard pass for me. Just set your suspension up right and there are no issues to begin with.
  • 1 0
Chris Boice has been thrashing them in the bike park and in the BMEs, guess they're durable.
  • 1 1
Goodbye hand pain, hello lifelong wrist problems. These have overuse injuries pretty much etched on that ugly clamp/pivot interface.
  • 2 0
Perfect. Now we can have Funn while riding Fasst
  • 1 1
They lost me at a product of the USA Baby....wooo...as if that makes it a sure thing. First glance, this product doesn't get past the first few years. WOOOOOO BABY.
  • 2 1
I'm really not sure about this one. Shouldn't suspension + natural flex of the bars do enough of this??
  • 5 5
How about letting the bike move under you? Thisis stupid trash for filthy casuals.
  • 1 0
@DataVirtue: Some of the best advice I ever got was "Don't overcontrol the bike. It'll beat you like death gripping a jackhammer. Just make sure you and the bike leave the rock garden together."
  • 3 2
I wouldn't be surprised to find a flexing handlebar on MBA circa 1996,but not on 2018. Bonkers.
  • 4 3
Looking to damp vibrations coming through the bars? Try riding in the PNW loam instead of the Utah harsh.
  • 2 1
When are they going to make Pedals that flex to keep my feet from hurting as much!!!
  • 4 0
Interesting as they also make footpegs for Moto and Adv bikes that isolate (elastomer) vibes passed through the frame into your feet. Very popular particularly with Adv riders.
  • 2 0
I wonder how these would feel with rev-grips...?
  • 1 0
You're just along for the ride at that point!
  • 2 1
Imagine mounting these up with a set of REV grips and your arms and hands will be falling and flopping in no time flat.
  • 1 3
Pot heads don't need these bars they can't feel anything anyway there so "medicated"
For the rest if us sobber battered old buggers it a extra option at least. Think it to pricey tho. Think they need like a demo setup. We're you try it and if don't like it post it back
  • 1 0
Hey Faast video edits....the 70’s called they want their porno music back.
  • 2 1
Cool, this will go great with my fully rigid bike when I time travel back to the 90s
  • 2 0
Will they numb the braking bumps on A-Line after crankworks?
  • 2 0
 "increasing confidence"

Sure about that?
  • 1 0
Hahaha. It reminds me of a certain stem from the 90s(?). So successful it was.
  • 1 0
Buying. Then putting axxios stickers on them. Then installing in my flexstem.
  • 1 0
so much horrid marketing talk in this press release that I could not bear reading the whole article!
  • 3 2
Are you weak and don't know how to tune your fork? If yes then boy we've got a product for you.
  • 1 0
Can I also get a seat post and crank arms that have suspension as well so that way I don't feel anything!
  • 1 0
Copious amounts of alcohol will do the same thing. Probably won't improve your ride quality, though.
  • 1 0
 Try ketamine
  • 1 0
 So $500 usd, * xrate 1.33 = $665 cdn * upcoming 25% trade tariffs for Made in USA = $831 + tax = $931. Awesome.
  • 1 0
Yeah I'll wait till they make it in China then I can give it a shot!
  • 1 0
For those who missed the Girvin flex stem... I bring you the flexx bar. Guaranteed to make your wallet more flexible too.
  • 1 0
Mate these with a pair of WTB PadLoc grips for the ultimate joke of a cockpit.

Seems like a terrible idea! Having used those flex stems in the early 90s, I personally don't like the idea of making the interface with the bike flexy and unpredictable.

put it away unless you brought enough to share with the rest of the class

Eviscerated. but, c'mon, what did they expect.
  • 1 0
wait a second...I think I just...yeah....I just had an idea
  • 2 2
If they said ENVE across the front everyone's panties would be wet and they'd just complain about how expensive the are.
  • 1 0
Huh. Those tech specs read a lot like marketing blurb. How strange.
  • 1 0
Even if it were a good idea NOT a chance that this will sell well at $500
  • 1 0
At least they didn't make them 35mm diameter and then add the Flexi bits.

 Solves A problem we DON'T have !

Perhaps not objectively, but certainly without hyperbole.

Can you fold it back for traveling?
  • 4 3
 my God ! Frown

If this really is an issue for someone just get a better fork. No way I am spending $500 for handlebars.
  • 3 1
That's the first thing I thought. For the price of this you can put an Avalanche damper in your fork and have all the same benefits without having funny handlebars.
  • 7 4
I think this is a poor comment, but agree $500 is too much. The truth is sometimes you need to sacrifice compliance and comfort for performance. Ever feel how stiff a pro's suspension is? These aren't motocross bikes where the bikes already weigh around 200lbs, suspension has a lot of room and large circuits and prices can be up to $8,000 for pro suspension.

Our suspension is cheap compared to so many other sports and incredibly light. They are talking about 1/5 of a pound in the article like its a big deal! LOL!

From a healthcare professional's perspective, I think this could really help with longevity of joints, especially if you ride a lot. Think about the force those elastomers may displace from your joints.

I am pretty young (a little less than 30 years old) and don't feel much even when riding downhill (Whistler A-Line braking bumps and cases on Crabapple hits included), if any pain now riding, but I know wear and tear on the body happens. Just because you don't feel it the premature wear on your body, doesn't mean it's not happening.

I think these bars are an innovative idea. I wonder if it influences handling characteristics negatively though (hard cornering/getting hung up a little in a gnarly rock garden, etc).

The price just seems really inaccessible though for a lot of people. I know R&D, marketing costs, lack of large quantity of demand/production are involved, but I have a real hard time justifying $500.

Rad idea and cool execution, but that price will stop me.

 @slayitlikeabadhabit:
The pain hides for about 10 years. Wait until you hit 40. These stupid bars wont help...you just have to learn how to ride.

 Next please...
