Jared Graves sporting matching socks and booties.
Joseph Nation.
Joe Barnes was on the hunt again for an EWS podium. Sixth for the day, beating out his teammate Fabien Barel by 1.5 seconds. Pretty darn close for fifty minutes of racing.
Florian Nicolai, yet another French man killing it on the EWS circuit. Time to re-think my take on wine and cheese as a main course.
Top of the world in Whistler BC.
Josh Carlson winning stage two. His sticker on his handlebars say it all: "Seize this moment."
Joe Barnes. My camera really seems to like him.
Stage four's top section was all out smooth sailing on Whistler's newest trail.
Pro photographer, or pro rider. These days it's hard to tell the difference. Adrian Marcoux. F*ckin' eh rights bud.
Nico Lau, Nico Vouilloz, and Mark Scott heading up the Whistler Creekside gondola for stage four.
Yoann Barelli with a head full of steam on stage four.
Richie Rude on stage four.
Anita Gehrig flashing through the trees on stage five.
Isabeau Courdurier taking third for the day.
Anneke Beerten, fourth for the day. Not bad for coming off a recent knee injury.
Always nice to see CG still killing it.
Alexandre Cure hopping down stage five.
Hulk smash berms. Richie Rude added five PSI to his tires on stage five, specifically so he could put the pain to the Whistler Bike Park.
EWS winners podium from left: Yoann Barelli, Cecille Ravanel, Richie Rude, Tracy Moseley, Jared Graves, Isabeau Courdurier.
Great photos! Does anyone know if there are pictures of the amateur categories as well somewhere? So far I've only seen pictures of the pros, but there were people on course all day probably shooting 100s or 1000s of photos. I guess it will take a while to sort those out, but it would be nice to know where to look for them in the next couple days.
I wonder how the SB6c rides with a coil rear shock. I was afraid that there wouldn't be enough ramp-up/progression if the bike was designed for an air shock. It seemed to have worked for Yeti this round.
I will get neg propped for this but look at the body language of Nico Lau, Nico Vouilloz, and Mark Scott (10th from bottom), they are nervous, I thought only amateurs like me got nervous before a race.
You can't be serious mate. If anything they should be more nervous, it is their job to ride their bike fast and beat people, so of course they will be apprehensive about going in and racing for their pay check!
Good point.
My idea of not being nervous if due to the fact that they race regularly. That helped my nerves as i was younger. But you are right their stakes are higher.
Great photos Margus! Unbelievably rich. Any one of them would make great desktop, calendar or POD material! Thank you (Ooops, I just ran out of exclamation points)...
