Thanks for all the props and banter this year, it’s been a privilege to take over from the mighty @redshift and put my overwhelming positive outlook and spin onto each of the products. I was so hoping to see five “delaminating five tens” or some “career ending Enves” but alas it wasn’t meant to be.
Props to the sponsors and team at PB also for putting it together, up yours to the fake account winners.
Gotta dash out for drinks now, “looks like a session” is coming .
For a prize of this caliber, you should be required to have an account for some time period prior to the contest, and have actively used the site.
Or, have special advent calendar accounts that require a lot of legal information about the user...
I'm not gonna lie, I was sitting back quietly fuming about the second account thing a couple days ago but here I am today contemplating making a second account.
Amazing! It’s been fun following PB Advent Calendar and reading all the comments and the banter. Wishing the Merriest of Christmas to each and every one of you guys. Happy riding!
If ever there was a time to create a fake account, or more, this would be it. Congratulations to @843nuqqzpy5pn!98upavwmk* winning the GG bike this year!!!
I ran into a guy in Colorado who won the bike from a few years ago. I forget all the details aside from it was a very small company I never heard of.
Great story Hansel.
Ok this time i'm really hoping i'll win - this was sold out when i last needed a bike and the one i bought instead just had a frame failure. So, if y'all could just, you know, not take part in the raffle, that'd be great
Seriously though, great prizes all around this year. Grats and lots of fun to everyone who wins!
It took me 15 minutes to clean up the puddle of drool I left on my desk as I contemplating winning this magnificent steed! After missing the entire past riding season due to wrist surgery on both hands, I am extra frothy to get back on the trail....like rabid dog frothy! Just knowing I have a small chance to win this bike is making me randy!
Hell yes! I've been drooling over GG bikes since the early days! I don't win "but two things, jack and shit, and jack left town" but it would be a fine ass merry Christmas indeed if I won this one!
Best of luck to everyone and happy holidays to all.
I had never really had guerilla gravity on my radar until recently. If their products are as killer as recent reviews indicate, I might be saving for one of these three years from now instead of the santa cruz I thought I was....
AGAIN with the fuckin made up accounts with no activity that is registerd the same week or month as the calendar give away and wins a bike.
FUCK THAT!
It was exactly the same thing last year.
Pinkbike calendar is mostly an advert for brands, specifically this bike inspired me to buy a second hand Specialized Enduro ( another example, after the headlamp giveaway, i bought a cheeky Lezyne lamp for my brother)
Thanks Pinkbike, I have looked forward to seeing every new prize and they have been great, some heavy drooling at times, especially for GG's 'The Smash'. Cheers and Merry Christmas.
Wow. I didn’t expect to cause so much controversy regarding the possible duplicate account that won the Vitus bike. I agree that there should be a vetting process such as a minimum number of posts and a profile pic to enter the giveaways. However, don’t repeatedly bring it up on every giveaway as we do still want these companies to donate items for the next year.
Speaking of new accounts mine is relatively new (last summer) with a zero post count. Having a well maintained 30 yr old Raleigh Technium that I have been looking to replace, found that Pink Bike seamed to have great reviews and other info. Just wanted to say thanks for the advent opportunity and hope to have another 30 on top of the dirt before being under it. Thanks Jeff.
@20060713: Well, looks like it was not my turn. Anyway, this bike would be way over my paycheck, at leaset here. Its like 20 thousnd reais, in a country where minimun wage is 1000 reais.
So @pinkbikeaudience@brianpark, any updates on who won from the 18th - 24th? If I didn't win this GG I'd happily take the Pole frame as a consolation prize.
PB should pay attention for the issue. I think it's not difficult to find which is fake account which is real. @ocdmimi is the vitus winner. Happy holiday all of you guys
@LarusFuscus: If it's anything like here, you will also wait >5weeks that the customs people do their job, and when you'll receive your package, there will be scratches everywhere.
The push eleven did coil shock is the best shock ever made in my opinion. It is by far the best shock I have ever felt, and I think it is the best one I will ever feel. There is no way the world can come up with something better than this
@ShoodNoBetter: I have a guy here in San marcos, he owns fluid focus, and he Specailizes in tuning and fixing shocks. Let's say you have a blown shock, and you need it rebuilt. If you go to a bike shop, they will send it in to the manufacturer of the shock, and have them fix it. This usually takes about a month and 250 to 300$. But here at fluid focus, he can do it in an hour for 100$.
@DrPete: Hmmm, I think not. The Marzocchi Z1 and Z2 were far better forks back then. The Judy was very flexy and had a damper that would destruct in no time.
@NWBasser: the point was just that as soon as you call something the best product ever that can’t possibly be improved on you’re guaranteed to be wrong eventually.
