Eliot Jackson has had a bit of a renaissance this season, coming through with some of his best rides ever on the World Cup circuit and at Crankworx. A big part of this success can be attributed to his creativity and line choice on the toughest tracks in the world.
"It's all about looking at something you've ridden a million times and asking if there is a new, better, or even more fun way to tackle that section” said Jackson, adding “sometimes you just have to have the guts to try something and you can save so much time or maybe enter the following part of the track in a better way."
Crankworx Whistler was especially great for Jackson, with a great 7th place finish in the Canadian Downhill. After the dust settled from this year's event, he took time to hit the classics and really enjoy the park. "I've been riding in Whistler for about eight years. Over time, I’ve found so many fun lines on classic tracks in the park by stopping to really look at the options. The bike park gets a lot of attention, but even the trails you know like the back of your hand are new again if you get creative with how you approach them.”
Eliot wrapped up the best season of his career with a 15th in Andorra and a wicked crash at the World Championships in Val Di Sole, luckily managing to have no significant injuries.
Looking great in practice at Val Di Sole:
The screams in the crowd tell you how gnarly this crash was to witness in person:
Now, Eliot is back home in California for some post-season relaxing and getting ready to hit the training hard for 2017.
