E-ENDURO | 180mm
Our AC salutes those about to rock with the kind of slack, aggressive roll you’d expect from the spawn of Spartan—and with the extra oomph of an e-equipped motor. Tame turbulent descents thanks to a generous 170mm of rear travel meets 180mm of finesse in the fork. And then turn around and hit turbo on the uphill. The Shimano STEPS E8000 motor boosts you to speeds of up to 32 km/h (limited to 25 km/h in Europe). The drive unit is controlled via a left-hand power-mode switch that triggers three settings (ECO, TRAIL and BOOST) for varied terrain. crank the volume and cue the bangers. The AC is an e-beast that shreds.

E-ALL MOUNTAIN | 150mm
What makes DC so dangerously fun is its uncanny ability to acclimate and annihilate anything you point it toward — from technical and gnarled, to rolling and flat-out fast. Agile handling is a function of modern geometry that combines steep seat angles for climbing with slacker head angles for confidence inspiring cornering and control. Made in Canada frame anatomy is crafted from light, tough 6066-T6 Aluminum. Molded frame, motor, and battery protection shields the bike from abuse. And armed with Shimano’s next generation e-motor, that integrates seamlessly into the frame, you’ll experience effortless liftoff as you charge climbing segments at rates that’ll make your heart race. Hop on the DC today for a helluva good time.

The unfortunate result of a mountain bike having a one-night-stand with a moped.

 Feeling freaking blessed geting a YZ450F 2019 for $4300. E -What?

@jorgeposada: and those have internal gears!!!! What a deal Wink

Paint jobs are outsourced to the car industry.

@pixelguru: not necessarily there are some decent looking ebikes around those things are just horrible full stop.

 @TDMAN: Welcome to moto.

Don't get it. Why bother with small travel e bikes when they will be heavy anyway? Just go big and admit it's a heffer and hope your mates don't laugh
  • 10 2
Because, much like a 'regular' bike, 180 is counter productive for most trail riding, even steep gnar. You want some platform to push off and feel/pump the bike through corners. Kind of the same reason nobody runs 10" travel DH bikes anymore.

@tcmtnbikr: as a tranny scout rider I totally agree , however not with a motor battery etc attached. I can imagine that weight will kill the poppy feel regardless how they brand it
  • 3 0
160mm is the sweet spot for ebikes I feel. The kenevo is a boat trail riding but makes sense on the real rough stuff.

I'm happy I went 160mm (merida e160 900e) for my purchase. Good compromise between agility and plow factor.
  • 3 0
@jamesdippy it's got a motor so the weight doesn't matter on the way up. Then apply the same rules about travel that you apply to an organic MTB to an eMTB.
Ebikes - Way more fun on the ups - great feeling on the downs.

Checked out all of Devinci's new lineup for 2020, and I gotta say, little bit bummed that some (probably most) have gone up in price by a few hundred bucks, while not actually getting any better. GX drivetrain on $6000+ bikes seems a bit meh.

Wilson 29 frameset 2019: 2699.00 CAD
Wilson 29 frameset 2020: 3299.00 CAD (but comes with a slightly different shock, saddle, bb and seatpost?)

Even the Sabbath, which is virtually identical, went up 200 bucks.
  • 3 1
@Ryan2949 Yes, now there is more included in a frameset, they come with seatpost (dropper for other models), saddle, so it does impact the price, but if you were to add all these parts aftermarket they would be a lot more expensive.

As for the rest of the lineup, some upgrades are more subtle but have an impact. Our XT DC is now GX specs with XO1 shifter, better casing tires (EXO+) and more. Also, there is the fact that the different parts found on the bike have also gone up in price and although we do our best to negotiate the best prices for our customers, there is the inevitable inflation we have to deal with.

Not Devinci but Norco takes the cake with an NX cassette on a 9000€ ebike. Like what the f*ck is happening..
  • 20 1
I would never know I needed a motor and 13sp hydraulic if it wasn’t for the internet.

Please make the geo and spec charts smaller ...I can almost read them in their current 6pt font state.
  • 11 1
At least they're being genuine and marketing each bike with a Shimano "engine" rather than a "system".
  • 4 3
@whitehonky. Motors run on electricity and engines run on combustion
Ebikes will always have a motor
  • 3 1
They need to fire the person that wrote this marketing BS. Its like the writers train of thought changes before the end of his sentence. And why the hell is he calling an electric motor and engine. An engine is a powered by combustion.

"Tame turbulent descents thanks to a generous 170mm of rear travel meets 180mm of finesse in the fork."

Some of these sentences are hard to read and don't make sense.

Devinci is based in Quebec, this press release would have been written by a French guy with English as a second language.
  • 1 0
I wish Devinci would build normal bikes like they build E-bikes. These E-bikes have Fox Fork, shock and dropper and Shimano drivetrain. They just hit the overpriced/unreliable SRAM parts bin to kit out all their human powered offerings
  • 6 0
54lbs is a lot of bike
  • 7 0
 It's literally twice as bike.
  • 2 0
About what my super 8 with monster t and 3.0 gazzolodis rolled in at without a motor/battery
  • 2 2
It's incredibly lightweight for a motorcycle
  • 5 0
their trail bikes are super boost + but e-bikes are only boost 148?
  • 3 1
There is no current 157 spiders available from my knowledge(for STEPS)
  • 1 1
I'll wager a bet that all the ebikes need to run longer chainstays and have tighter tire clearance due to the lack of super boost available from Shimano STEPS.
  • 1 0
@shirk-007 and @BrantHavro have part of the answer. The longer CS we run on these are not as conflicting as the shorter stays we run on regular MTB so SB+ was not as necessary to give us the flexibility we need in the conception process.
  • 2 0
I don't get it - the actual seat tube angles are steeper here than on the bikes where there is no motor power and this is the second manufacturer I've seen do this... Makes no sense.
  • 5 2
in my experience with eMTB, I’ve found myself looking for an even steeper STA than on my Enduro bike. The reason is because I could go so much faster uphill that it was needed to get my weight properly centered with all the extra power assuming I wanted to stay seated.

Not saying they used this logic. Only that it’s an appealing feature to me because of my experience.
  • 2 0
What @HurricaneCycles said plus the fact that when you climb steeper trails, especially with the assistance, your front wheel have a tendency to feel ''lighter'' so putting your weight towards the front of the bike puts you in a much better position, keeps the front wheel on the ground, and make the handling more precise.
  • 2 0
@cyclesdevinci: I feel like all bikes could benefit from this - especially enduro bikes (like the Spartan), but perhaps its just the terrain I ride - steep climbs.
  • 1 0
The 180mm bike will have my attention for shutting in 3 years time when I’m 50, batteries are smaller/lighter, more powerful and total bike weight is around 45lbs. I won’ be trying to toss a 54 pound bike around the woods right now. Still a ways to go.
  • 8 3
 Yawn
  • 3 1
As someone who has over 12,000km on these bikes now in 2 1/2 seasons, these bikes are a blast to ride and are cheaper to purchase by 2 grand over other brands.
  • 2 0
The only EBike that actually looks nice imo is the new Commencal one but I admit the new Devinci Django looks fun to ride in a non EBike type of way
  • 3 0
Lol the prices have gone up yet the spec hasn't.
  • 3 3
At least in US dollars that’s due to the latest tariffs. The whole industry has been hit hard over the last year and the price increase is only just showing up to the end consumer.
  • 2 0
Half of the hatters making comments here would be riding ebikes within the next 5 years.
  • 14 11
 Oh good, more mopeds
  • 6 6
I love my Moped. 160mm coil sprung goodness running Maxxis 29x2.6 exo+ plus Cushcore up front, 156mm running 27.5x2.8 Maxxis DHR II plus Cushcore out back. It's a rock garden eating, berm slashing beast that loves repeating DH runs till I'm too exhausted (not from mind numbing uphill grinds) to do any more. Yeah, I love my Moped. Mopeds fu#king rock.
  • 2 1
 Mopeds rule ????

 @glaw: ok bro lol

 I'm holding out for a 500mm chainstay.

I'm wondering how NX will stand up to EMTB use considering that GX derailleur pivots go to crap in a year under normal use.
  • 2 0
Well NX doesn't work to begin with so...

I miss my Spartan 27 Alloy, the trend seems to be Carbon29, I can barely find a decent alloy bike left in the catalog.

What happened to alloy Made in Canada?
  • 1 0
Ouf, they still have 2 models in Alloy27:
