This video allows us to show that ebikes, or more precisely pedal assisted bikes, are fun and pretty entertaining for all!

No matter where you are on your ebike there's fun to be had, on the climbs, out of turns or even in between downhill runs! We've been perfecting our own ebike for several years now. A number of prototypes have come and gone and we have tested many motors together with different types of batteries. The processes have been endless. We couldn’t launch an ebike without a reliable and efficient electric system and there was no rush. We wanted to get it right!

We did not want to design the Meta Power around the motor. We wanted it to be a Meta with a motor! From geometry to components, nothing has been overlooked. There are no compromises. With regards to the battery, we decided to use a “semi-integrated” system. The stock Shimano battery is simply positioned on the frame to lower the centre of gravity.

The icing on the cake appeared when we were comparing the downhill times between the Meta and the Meta Power (unassisted by the motor). Surprisingly, the times were very close.That day we knew that we'd reached our goal!

Those who have tried it have all come back asking one question, “Can I keep it?”

 Damn you Max.....DAMN YOU. Leave it to Commencal to make ebikes look this cool.

 I saw someone get an E-Bike out his van at my local trails. He wondered off but I ended up chatting to his mate about it. The owner was a "big guy" shall we say... His mate said he never liked riding much until he got the E-Bike cause he found it hard work, but now he rides all the time.

You could argue he should ride a normal MTB and get fitter and stronger. But if an E-Bike makes him want to ride, then they clearly have their place.

 I can only imagine the breaking bumps forming now.

 My mates have ebikes, it's not about the fitness. Maybe if you're over weight and want to start riding yeah, they do dh. You still have to put the effort in, and you still get a work out, the main benefit is that you can cover more ground in a shorter time. You can ride up parts that you would normally push, allowing you more runs if you're sessioning somewhere. I'm looking at a Specialized Turbo Levo for next year., I do a bit of dh, and I commute on a regular full rigid to work. I'd only say to people, if you're sceptical have a go on one. If after the ride you still think no don't like or want one fair enough, but my mates love em'. It's only an assist when peddling , you don't twist a throttle.

 @b4uwereborn: Think I needed to emphasise on the "big guy" part...
I don't know to be fair. Never ridden with them or ridden an E-Bike so can't judge. All I know is he said the other dude rides more now so that's a good thing to me.

 @Allen82: Hey no worries mate, my mate has even rode his to work without the battery on to help with his training. I went to see about one today, a turbo levo comp. Gonna trade my fat bike in, hopefully some time in Oct. I'll put some pics and maybe a video/review too;
Cheers mate.

 A few years from now once ebike batteries have gotten significantly smaller, there will be large mountains of unwanted 2017 era ebike batteries scattered throughout the third world of which the rest of the world will pretend never existed.

 I had the chance to throw a leg over a prototype in february. Just a brief spin on flatground; the bike felt super balanced and definitely "legit", if you know what I mean.
  • 7 3
 The reality these guys could flat spin and cork 3 my nana so it is amazing yes! Are they something I really want - hell no!
