jaurl's got you on that one townes. $ony absolutely would fvck anyone over just to get anything they want. Absolutely! They're no better than the Detroit Big 3 in the car industry or the Big 3 $'s in this one ($hitmano, $CAM & $pecial-ed). Crooked as crooked gets.
In all likelihood that's probably just Youtube being a shitty video player for HD video. I rarely ever get videos to buffer in 1080p on youtube even though I always set it to that quality.
Probably the most tricks you could pack into a run was just shone to us all today. I think a moment of silence is needed for all those who will never reach this man skill level....... Carry on
I guess ill be the 1st to say this but, I was a little disappointed with Semenuk's run. I know I can never understand what they are going through, and that not being on your game can compromise safety, but I feel like he was being a poor sport at the end of his run. I'm sure I'll get some negatives for this but I just wanted to state what I believe to be true to sportmanship. On this note, Semenuk is and has been my favorite rider for a very long time. I wonder if his last run at the last crankworx got to his head a bit? Any thoughts?
Didn't he case the second to last jump? I just assumed he didn't have enough speed to do his trick on the final stepdown. Anyway, he was already guaranteed a 2nd place finish so he needed a perfect run to beat Brett. He slipped his pedal and lost; I really don't see why it's a big deal that he didn't ride the last jump.
Having said that, he didn't have to act so butthurt afterwards. I think we all have "that" friend who always takes things too seriously and gets too competitive, and gets pissed when he doesn't win.
He did case it, and I realize that. In my opinion he had enough speed, or could have walked back up and got enough speed to finish the track though. Look at Logan Peat, who biffed it royally (in style i might add) and smiled and finished out the track. As a fan I just would have liked to see him finish it out. Thanks for agreeing that he acted butthurt lol. I can only imagine the pressure that he felt at the time though. Oh well...in a perfect world right?
I really want to know why this complaint keeps being brought up. You ever mess up on a dirt jump line or a Freeride trail and just pull off? I do it all the time. It wouldn't have benefitted him at all to hit the last jump when he already knew he missed his combos, sketched the bottom half of the course and cased the prior jump. When I'm completely missing a line like that I always pull off. Often times when I don't and I'm on a roll with missed landings/tricks/cases I'll just go down. Not saying semenuk would go down but I seriously don't see anything wrong with him pulling off on that last jump, it seriously shouldn't be bothering people so much. It's not a bike show its a competition, he knew he didn't have that run in the bag and every viewer knew it too. I've never held anyone to being a "poor sport" because they didn't finish a line, everyone does it. He had a wobbly run, those guys arent getting paid to entertain.
And I don't understand why people keep getting so animated about this topic. Maybe Semenuk has fans. I happen to be one of them. I love this sport like some people love football. I get into it. Am I allowed to have an opinion? It is televised not only for the athlete's competition but for our entertainment as well. I think any one of us can have any opinion about it. I completely understand why it keeps coming up and I'm sorry it bothers you. People are going to get emotional about it. We love the sport, we love the competition, we love mountain biking.
Brett's run was definitely better, but I'm a little surprised he scored 4 full points higher than Semenuk. Regardless both guys threw down hard in run 1!
That run was absolutely insane. But wow that footage looks like shite compared to gopro. I would think that Sony, who has been making some of the best cameras out there for decades, can do better than that...
Funny enough Sony, who make some of the best sensors, actually makes the sensor in the GoPro. I too, think that the GoPro footage looks better, so it must be down to the lens, probably combined with some preconceived bias that the GP is better. Time for a blind taste-test!
The footage is easier to work with in editing as well! No weird video formats!
