So we got a 180mm fork instead of 170, a 15mm spacer UNDER the head tube, a pretty generous stack of spacers under the stem and high rise bars. That front end must higher than me on April 20th

Jack is tall. I am also tall but not as tall as him. I would love to have an uncut steerer on my bike and maybe even a spacer to raise the bars. Bike manucaturers dont cater for tall people properly. My saddle to bar height difference is exteme thanks to a too short head tube and cut down steerer on my XL frame.

High front ends like that feel like shit to me, I really struggle in the corners with them....but WTF do I know, I ain't racin' EWS, but most of the pros do seem to run a reasonably low setup...

@RadBartTaylor: same here. I ran a Spank 50mm rise bar for a few months because it made pedaling so damn comfortable. Then I went back to a 35 rise bar and was instantly cornering harder. Wish I could have the best of both worlds.

I like a high front end too but hate the look of spacers. That's why I have 3.5 Inch riser dirt jump bars. I can extend the width with lock on grips to 777mm which is enough for me.

150/180 mm travel, Headset spacer, spacer and a riser bar. I think Jack just wants to make it feel as similar as possible to a DH bike. It worked for Zermatt for sure and I am super excited to see how this setup works over a season and more pedaly stages / races.

it's just a bottom headset cup that's a solid 15mm thick alu piece all the way to the bearing. a few brands make them including fsa of course

@Linc: Meanwhile 5'10 Aaron Gwin experiments with riding an XL and Greg Minaar who is close to Jacks height rides the biggest bike Santa Cruz make, then gets custom parts to make it bigger. Pro's like Joe's have different styles and preferences, different strokes for different folks.

Such a garbage that Strive. Born outdated with such a bad design that a racer must use a 180mm zeb(596 ATC) instead of the 170mm Lyrik(ATC 581) and a spacer of 15mm in order to be fairly competitive; that's 30mm more than the original spec Strive. Imagine that...30mm higher. If that does not say bad design, nothing else says it!

Basically, from the 65.5 HA with the 170mm Lyrik, it goes to 64, which is normal for trail-enduro style bikes. The funny thing is, there are ppl who still buy the Strive...with actual money

@Osirian, dude, if you think a short(1230 wb for size large) bike with a 66 HA(73.5 STA) when paired with a 160mm fork is good for enduro/dh...you know exactly shite about bikes or you live in the past(or both). My trail bike is at 65 HA and that has 140mm fork...and it also the same WB although it is a size smaller.

Like I have said...the poor Moir is just trying to make his piece of shite bike more competitive and faster while you non-mtbers just drink the canyon koolaid. No wander ppl are callin' USA dumbf*ckistan if, even with clear numbers, you cannot see and accept the truth/clear evidence.

Please check his racing bike before writing/stating wrong facts as the truth; more travel for the frame, 155mm, 180mm fork, spacer beneath the lower cup and so on.

Also..he wouldn't have been on 2nd if the 2019 season would not have been so 'eventful'.

That is toxic. You typed all of that. Biking is meant to be an inclusive sport, not a venue for Real Mountain Bikers (TM pending) to stroke their enormous egos. One last note: I never said the Strive was good. At any point. Like, at all.
