Bernard Kerr has been working with the team at Pivot on the development of their bikes for some time now. There's been a good bit of chatter about this bike, and while there have been prototypes spotted, the final specifications have yet to be revealed. I caught up with Bernard at Crankworx Rotorua to take a closer look at the new 29er.
The bike here is not the final production model, but it is very close. There are some details that will change, but Kerr has been running this frame with a few different link setups for some time now and is very pleased with it.
768mm Renthal bars mounted to a 50mm stem. That's narrower than many riders, but Bernard runs his hands as far out as possible on them.
Kerr is currently running an Angleset to try out a few different head angles. Currently, he's at "about 62.5-degrees."
The team has been experimenting with a number of different links. Suspension is set to ramp up quite a lot.
A Shimano drivetrain keeps things spinning.
DMR's Deathgrip seems to be a popular choice among gravity riders.
Industry Nine's hubs have 690 points of engagement. They are paired to Reynolds carbon hoops.

Pivot, please provide punker lit and punter link kits ASAP.
Shock: Fox DHX2 - 215psi with all the tokens, damping - 16LSC, 13HSC, 15LSC, 10HSC
I'm 6', and regularly get the rear tire up my ass on the 27.5" Phoenix.
I hope they address that on the 29
Well that compression shimstack is wrong then. High speed is going to be harsh and horrid, and disgustingly digressive. Can easily be improved.

If you’re really having that noticeable and bad of pedal kick or anti squat issues, you can
A. buy one the new crop of dh bikes that are striving to eliminate this.
Or B. If you want real freedom, figure something out like Canyon did with the disengaging ratchet, or make yourself a neutral gear that you can shift into during the chop.
Slower engagement doesn’t help these issues, it makes it less predictable and less consistent, you might get lucky and it doesn’t grab the pawl, or it will engage right away and hold it the entire way through the travel.
