Although it had rained heavily prior to the event, the track was still in perfect condition thanks to Trailcraft and the local’s effort to get it in shape to race. The rain also held off throughout the day so it made for exciting racing with a number of entries and spectators at the event.
“Dual Slalom day at Van Rd Trails. Very grateful to everyone who organized the event, with Mcfly Pearce in charge and Chris Roberts from Naked Racing on the timing. Also James for the awesome handmade trophies (again) and everyone for coming along! Proceeds going towards keeping the trails open.” -
Manon Carpenter Manon loving the trophies that everyone who came in the top three had including other prizes. There was also some time in between intervals for riders to chill out and try some of the different dirt jump and pump tracks on offer in the area too. Kerr showing us how it's all done while waiting for semi final runs to start.
It was also good to see a range of ages racing, this included a rippers category who were not hanging round…they were flying!Jess Greaves hanging out with the other girls in the race. She went all the way to the finals where she went against Manon and gave her a run for her money. Some great battles not only in the men’s category today! Overall a great day for everyone, all the money raised will be put into keeping the site open and for all maintenance work to be done. A huge thank you for everyone involved and we hope to see you next year! Full results
