What does designing suspension mean in 2017? What are the development steps of a product before it reaches your bike? What are the riders actually looking for in a suspension?
@cunning-linguist: as mentioned by others, it's a sound concept, glad to see more companies adopting it. But you'll still have to pry my coil spring suspension from my dead, cold hands.
@cunning-linguist: Marocchi did it over a decade ago It was called the Air Doppio system One positive chamber, one negative, and one progressiveness/bottom out chamber
@picowatt: ah, thanks all. I've only run RS and Fox for some years now, no disrespect to the others. Miss a good old Marzocchi open oil bath fork! With this technology it should be relatively simple to make and to tune for all rider weights and styles, so a damn good thing to adopt even if it is 10 years old! :-)
Not trying to say anything bad about Formula, but for everyone that thinks this is a brand new concept you need to look a little further into the past. Marzocchi Air Doppio system with PAR valve one positive, one negative, and PAR Progressiveness/bottomout chamber. Most ideas these days aren't new, just improved upon.
@rideformula: good on you! I wanna see it, it would appear odd to bring out something done before - I assumed it'd be fresh, but I like the look of it already!
You can also buy it AF for Pike, Lyrik and Fox 36 from AWK
