Silver Star Offers a Six Pack to All Riders in '05

Vernon, B.C.: Mountain bikers and summer enthusiasts rejoice! Silver Star Mountain Resort is pleased to announce the Comet Six-Pack Express will be open daily from July 1 – September 5, 2005 for summer operations.A massive expansion of the existing bike park is being developed and a number of new trails are planned to be ready in time for the July 1 opening. "We recognized the opportunity for another major mountain bike destination in British Columbia and our team is very enthusiastic about growing our long history of mountain biking," said Michael Sherwood, General Manager, Silver Star Ski Resort Ltd.
The expansion and operation of the Comet Six-Pack Express marks a $300,000 investment and will give users access to over 1,800 vertical feet of great riding terrain. The high-speed detachable lift will be fitted with roll-on bike carriers and will have a ride-time to the top of just under eight minutes. There will be five dedicated staff members to build the new trails and sculpt bike park features from beginner to expert standards. Rentals of dual suspension mountain bikes, helmets, and body armour will be available as well.

Included in the summer development will be an expansion of the hiking trail network and improved signage on all trails. Silver Star will continue with its policy of having separate trails for both hikers and mountain bikers. Most of the restaurants and hotels will be fully operational during the summer season. Visitors to Silver Star Mountain Resort can expect numerous on-mountain events including the annual Summer Drummer and the world-famous Okanagan Summer Wine Festival.
