The winner of the Alpina Rocket Q-Lite Glasses are Pinkbike users SammyKFIN, nicbeechan, giacomoferrari

Prize Details:

Win a pair of Alpina Rocket Q-Lite Glasses.

Alpina Rocket Q-Lite

Are you going fast on enduro trails? Like really fast? Then the Rocket is the pair of glasses for you! Three of you have the chance to win it.
The Rocket is one of the new styles of ALPINA performance glasses! They are polarizing while also capturing the spirit of the times. The inspiration for the new models is taken from the brand's history, Alpina models from the 80s, 90s - and nature.

Along with plenty of style, the contrast-enhancing Q-Lite technology is integrated into the lenses. A hydrophobic coating keeps the lens clean from the outside. From the inside, Fogstop prevents fogging of the lens. The glasses can be individually fitted via adjustable nose wings. For a comfortable grip, the frame is equipped with a 2-component design.
When dusk starts to fall, that's still no reason to stop. Or to ride without goggles. The Clear Lens from Alpina is quickly and easily installed. For longer fun on the trail...

The Rocket Q-Lite is available in four colors from black to olive, peach, and turquoise. If you win, you have the choice.

The winner of the Ochain / Otua Limited Edition Active Spider is Pinkbike user NickB01.
Congratulations NickB01

Prize Details:

Ochain / Otua Limited Edition Active Spider

Once upon a time... I was staring at the monitor, following UCI WorldCup in Hafjell just like a typical downhill rider and fan. It was September 2014.

When Mulally had his incredible chainless ride, my inner nerd and engineer started to ruminate “Which kind of advantage could came from this situation for the rider or his bike?” One year later, nearly the same story repeated in front of me, with Aaron Gwin winning in Leogang: Chainless.

After that run I decided to study and research, to unfold a new riding scenario: chainless riding, with possibility to maintain the pedal stroke. Thanks to the increasing success of single chainring system, the road was given. An informal gathering of passionate engineers, riders and designers started working on an active spider concept.

After first prototypes and tests things started to get serious, we decided to go for an industrial production and to deepen the research and development process. We engineered an easygoing component, fitting most standards on market with BDC 104 standard chainring. Many different potentialities were offered by such a small object, we felt the need to understand-and ride-them!

LIMITED EDITION

Color speaks all languages. This is the message we wish to spread through this finely and technologically designed limited edition. Ochain component gives a chainless feeling and reduces pedal kickback, giving as a result smooth and grounded rides. In this virtuous circle the shocks can work without limitations due to suspension design, engaged hub, engaged gear, etc. We have been working hard to answer the question: what If we could use 100% of our bikes?

OCHAIN • E

This new model of Ochain is designed to have the same benefits as the muscular version right on your e-bike, adding some more cool advantages for your riding experience. It is now available for Bosh and Brose motors and also Shimano EP8 version will be presented in early 2022.

The prize pack includes:
• x1 Limited Edition MSRP € 350,00 (image shown above)
• x1 O Chain E MSRP € 328,00

Total value = € 678,00

The winner of the Stage 6 Evo Frame is Pinkbike user iwhizz.
Congratulations iwhizz

Prize Details:

Stage 6 Evo Frame

We are happy to be offering up a new Stage 6 Evo frame to one lucky Pinkbike user for this year's advent calendar! Following the reception and success of our previous Evo models, it made sense for us to develop a Stage 6 Evo.

An Evo from Orange means you have honed geometry with decades of development and thousands of miles of test riding. The Stage 6 Evo is an aggressive trail bike with 29” wheels, designed to take a 150mm fork, with 140mm of rear wheel travel. This bike is fast, fun, and more than happy to ride terrain more aggressive than its travel numbers would suggest.

With the emphasis placed firmly on geometry and the incredible performance benefits that brings, the Stage 6 Evo could be the only bike you’ll ever need. The frame features our new asymmetric swing-arm which improves stiffness and strength, a more progressive suspension curve, offset bearing housing allowing for a more neutral pivot position, UDH gear hanger, and accessory mounts under the top. This particular frame also comes with a Fox Float X performance shock keeping that 140mm of travel under control.

• 1x Orange Stage 6 Evo frame MSRP: $2900

The winner of the Marzocchi Z1 Coil Fork & Bomber CR Shock is Pinkbike user SlipperB.
Congratulations SlipperB

Prize Details:

Marzocchi Z1 Coil Fork & Bomber CR Shock

We’re stoked to offer a Marzocchi coil fork and rear shock, plus a branded Marzocchi zip-up hoodie and snapback. The new Z1 Coil builds on the legacy of the single crown fork that started the revolution way back in the ‘90s – the O.G. Bomber Z1 Coil. Starting with the stout and proven 36mm chassis of the modern day Bomber Z1, the new Z1 Coil retains the renowned Grip damper but swaps out the air spring assembly for the most advanced coil spring system Marzocchi has ever made. At the heart of this new coil system is an ultra-lightweight tempered silicon-chromium steel spring - coupled with a noise management system for near silent performance and an integrated air assist for progressivity and bottom out control.

The Bomber CR provides a plush, planted feel and consistency during long shred sessions. Optimized for bikes in travel ranges from 130mm to over 200mm and keeping in step with Marzocchi’s founding philosophies, this new rear shock prioritizes suspension performance, ride quality, and durability. Simply set your sag and rebound, and go ride. The Marzocchi zip hoodie is meant for colder days and hiding from the paparazzo - full-zip for easy on and off without having to remove your helmet. Then for after the ride, toss on the Marzocchi Flexfit Snapback - more interesting than a black hat but still matches most outfits.

Prize pack includes:
• Z1 Coil (MSRP: $779.00 USD)
• Bomber CR (MSRP: $309.00 USD)
• Marzocchi Snapback (MSRP: $40.00 USD)

 OUT OF OFFICE;
Sorry, I am currently on leave from the PB comment section and website as a whole, in order to win a bike at Christmas time.
Apologies for the inconvenience, and thanks for the new bike at Christmas time.

@Waldon83: June rolls around... accidentally logs on to this weird pink website notices he won a bike
  • 7 0
@CSP: I don't know if there's a way to fake a PB membership join date but I checked about half of the winners and they all looked legit to me. Almost all had been members for years. There were a couple 2021 dates but they were earlier in the year. I'm with you being suspicious about contest winners but these people look real. Maybe they don't contribute but that's the same for most of the internet. A noisy few and mostly lurkers.
  • 1 0
got to be some of us about here, who’ve won a win it wednesday contest?
  • 1 1
Much respect to Levy for not responding to plotters.
  • 2 0
This is bullshit. Real users can't win giveaways. All winners are fake
  • 145 23
most of them are inactive accounts, it would be cool if someone who often comments would win it
  • 61 4
In comparison to previous years there are actually more active accounts this time round which I was pleased to see. But I have always though we should have a vote that Pinkbike honours using one of those poll things where we put it to the masses that inactive accounts are simply discounted from competitions and only active users CAN win.
  • 7 0
I'm pretty sure I've seen swamp thing in the comments before
  • 92 1
Actually, having gone through, a vast majority of accounts even have profile pics. Theres only 3 which were made in 2021. For the others, not sure why not having commented on posts makes them any less worthy to win.

That’s what I was thinking, I didn’t recognise any of the names mentioned from the comment section!
God that sounds sad........Lol
  • 11 12
@landscapeben: This is the way. Never commented on an article or a forum topic? Give the package to someone that participates instead. It's commented on every year, and seems to be a frustration of the site's every year. Can we stop rewarding completely inactive accounts and accounts that are only made to use the buy/sell? Otherwise this isn't really a competition for your users, it's a competition for people with burner accounts.
  • 3 1
 @sherbet: "this is the way"
  • 3 1
@ratedgg13: because there have historically been a high number of what look to be cheats who create multiple accounts to get a higher chance of winning and then they just farm entries. The only explanation I can come up with for so many previous winners having unused accounts with no activity and not even a user photo. Ample justification to prevent them competing in my books.
  • 2 1
@TheR: maybe but I'm pretty sure they can impose some rules... I'd be satisfied if I heard that from Levy though.
  • 57 7
 Sore looser are we?
its a raffle. Lots of people who dont comment on the regular are going to enter.
Stop crying and go ride your bike
  • 2 2
I can't help but click on the winners just to see if they have any activity. Kinda sucks when its a recent account with literally zero activity. In comparison to past years, this looked way better at least.
  • 2 0
Think i've seen Aspen DH on here before.
  • 4 2
I'm sure there is not one really inactive user among the winners. Entering to the giveaway seem some kind of active to me....
  • 2 0
Reading the articles is the metric that really matters right?
  • 8 1
@landscapeben: Yea , I only counted 6 BOT accounts winning this year. Down from last year. Congrats to all the real Pinkbike users for winning...
  • 7 1
Past winner here. In order to claim the win, the account has to respond to PB admins before hand and get things moving. So those accounts do pay attention in some fashion, can't be totally dead..... i was about 1-2weeks late to responding to the email PB admins sent me about my win. So it looked unclaimed for a bit. Yall on here made jokes no one wanted the prize lol.
  • 5 1
@landscapeben: This^ You'd think the whole point of offering prizes is to the people who are active on the website...? And obviously that concept prevents people just creating new accounts to increase their odds.

However I wonder if they can legally do that? IDK...

At any rate, this is still WAY cool of PB to have the Advent Giveaways...

Thanks!
  • 12 2
I slave away in the below thresholds ALL YEAR LONG..and never win anything. This world is unfair.
  • 5 0
@TheR: This is being downvoted though is actually true. You can't even require purchase to enter a contest. All of those "buy to win" promos must also have a form of entry that requires nothing but submitting to enter the contest.

@stiingya The whole point of this contest is a year end membership drive Wink
  • 8 0
@benderl85: I didn't win, so it must be rigged.
  • 3 1
Waki would win everything if it’s based on n7mber of comments
  • 3 0
@pourquois-pas: I appreciate the back-up here. I’ve helped execute a few sweepstakes in my life. They’re a pain. I’m surprised that they can even require an account here. I wonder if there’s a work-around. I also concede laws in Canada can be different.
  • 2 1
Them's the breaks I guess. Someone got lucky lurking but a 10 minimum post/comment count - similar to how Reddit works with karma, would be a little fairer.
  • 2 1
@ratedgg13: Because pinkbike is really about the comments. I respect the editorial staff and think they do a great job, but they are only a part of what makes PB special.
  • 2 0
@jamesvtw: They should message you on PB and make sure it isn't fwd'd to email. This is the way to check for active users.
  • 2 0
 Yea, esp constructive ones perhaps?
  • 1 0
This is exactly the right attitude @benderl85:
  • 5 0
Some people play Loto once in their life and win the jackpot; some play during their whole life and never win anything.
C'est la vie Wink
  • 2 0
@sspiff: 100% agree, I missed the email because I sit in PB all day, and I expected a message On the site lol. I think eventually they did message me on PB, to go check my email and respond.
  • 3 3
Yep been on this site since 2008 and only seen a few active contributors win prizes the rest are alt accounts is my guess. A couple years ago there was a person called OCD something or other and they were known to win contests all over the internet then magically they won the bike that year on here. That made me think that this shit is rigged big time. You can actually look the person up and see all the shit they've won it's bullshit that no one questioned it from the pinkbike staff but I don't think they really care about the contributing people on this site anyway.
  • 2 0
 @DaFreerider44: I dabble in commenting
  • 4 1
I probably comment 10-15 times a year. I think the content is great and hopefully up and down voting counts too! But I do donate to Trailforks and do trailwork regularly, so there is that. I was blown away when I got the email saying that I won the Yakima rack! Still waiting to hear from Yakima though. Thanks Pinkbike and Yakima! Like dude said below, I've never met a single Pinkbike staff member.
  • 1 0
@SwampThAAng: I won from Yakima as well, zero contact from them or correspondence. giant box just showed up one day lol
  • 1 0
Yie I agree with that . Why the hell not. @landscapeben:
  • 2 2
@SwampThAAng: good job three people out of hundreds over the years that aren't bot account winners. One can just look at the winners over the years and come to the same conclusion that 95% of the winners are straight bot accounts. It's not even a f*cking argument it's facts period.
  • 1 1
@mhoshal: Dude, thats just not the case. SwampThAAng, jamesvtw and myself have all been winners in the past. Sure the odds are long, and a bunch of the winners don't come to the comments section a lot, and sure a few bots and fake accounts win. Yeah, it sucks to not win, but pinkbike owes you nothing - its literally a free website (until outside ruins that).
  • 2 1
@SwampThAAng: no one is questioning you. Your home page shows you use the site. Its the ones that have no "comments" nothing in "buy or sell" and literally nothing on their home page other than a name and when they joined.
  • 3 1
@Three6ty: Thank you for the comment, your views are important to us and an advisor will address your question shortly
  • 118 0
At the risk of getting flamed. For all the doubters, I'm a real person, not a bot. Also, interestingly enough, I've never even met Levy. Been entering this thing for a decade, stoked to finally win something. Super excited it was the OneUp stuff. Not much into commenting but I love lurking and reading all you other clever fellows. Best of luck to you all next year.
  • 28 0
It's the same for me. There's only one forum where I don't actively lurk all the others I'm just happy reading articles and the comment section. Am really excited to get those super fancy Yoshimura pedals and rest of the prize pack. Was extremely surprised to find the email in my mailbox, actually thought it was some random spam at first before I actually noticed it was from Pinkbike.
  • 32 0
same here - i actually come to pink bike for the articles ( and photos) - is it compulsory to have to comment on all of them? i use the page for its intended purpose - to gain info on products and events that interest me - no need to comment every 2 minutes or even read the comments....
  • 17 0

  • 77 1
okay so question is, where are the comments of the year? we need dick pound
  • 44 0
Probably half of the most upvoted comments this year are super negative ones about outside+. Makes me wonder if they'll list them as upvoted or suppress some.
  • 4 0
Its gotta be one from when the Outside announcement was posted!
  • 10 1
I’m nervous, if I don’t get Troll of the Year then I guess I really need to step up my basement living lifestyle.

Hopefully they done remove the "dislike" button. Thanks, YouTube.
  • 2 0
@unrooted: You've trolled well enough in the past few months that I actually recognize your name in the comment section...so what, you gotta be like top ten performer, yeah? You have my vote bud!
  • 3 0
@goaskalice: YouTube hid the *count* of thumbs down on a video, but not the button itself--and there's at least one browser extension for Chrome (for example) that un-hides the counts (I'm using "Return YouTube Dislike" and it seems to work great).

 @lejake: exactly!
  • 2 0
@stiingya: since when do you need an account to read articles?
  • 9 0
@mazze: I actually only created my account in the first place so I could read the below-threshold comments.
  • 2 0
@mazze: You missed the part about needing an account to comment/interact in the comments which "some people" spend more time doing then actually reading the articles.

Not me of course...

Pffft.... I was hopeful this year, but the only message I got in my Pinkbike inbox this holiday was a solicitation for sex.

You too?! I thought they said cycling lowered sexual desires, because of pressure on the scrotum or something. Turns out cyclists are actually a bunch of oversexed nutjobs! Then again, going by comments over here, that shouldn't surprise anyone...

@pdxjeremy: it's probably your profile picture. I only got one solicitation by not having a profile picture...

  • 9 0
Yes, I won! I can’t believe it when they contacted me. I was always looking for this “Advent Calendar Giveaway” of Pinkbike.
Afterall it’s easy, you just log in to your account and you get entered. Wishing that I could win the bike but better luck next time. Nevertheless, I’m so thankful for everybody at Pinkbike who have promoted this and the sponsors! You are all amazing! I was born in the Philippines and migrated here in the US, I always ride bike since I was 10 as we don’t have any mode of transportation. It’s either you bike or ride on a water buffalo! Winning the 1st day prize is already a big blessing for me. Thank you Pinkbike and SRAM! More power!! We’ll keep shredding!

How do I change my pb username into @therealjama?
  • 7 2
Once you stop moaning about something you have no control over ask yourself this, did I lose anything? No you didn't and the vast majority of you are sounding like entitled little brats . Get over it and enjoy time with family and friends in 2022. Pinkbike comment sections are almost as bad as the YouTube comments sections. Full of keyboard warrior virgins. Down vote me all you like, it won't put my mood up or down. Stay safe and live life.
  • 9 2
I’m really feeling the love, but then again I don’t care because I won a bike

How many people participate to the contest per day or total?
  • 3 3

  • 7 0

  • 12 7
as usual, wretched comment section full of entitled opinion-havers. Good luck next year, see you complaining in the comments in 2023.
  • 4 0
 Righto!
  • 11 4
@njcbps: makes entitled whiny comment about entitled whiny comments. god I love Pinkbike
  • 1 4
@Caligula1620: please explain how comments can be entitled? I was referencing the people who are salty they didn't win just because they actively complain in every comment section. Are you sure what you said means what you think it does? take your time
  • 4 1
@ream720: you're coming here calling everyone "wretched comment section full of opinion-havers" while simultaneously expressing your own opinion. you think your opinion/comment gives you carte blanche to shit on everyone else's comments. that's entitlement lol. making tongue and cheek comments about the contests being rigged for levys friends have as much actual salt in them as your comment has humor or awareness. later angry entitled comment guy lol
  • 1 3
@Caligula1620: my opinion is that the PB comment section is (as usual) disappointing and negative. People complaining about other people winning is equivalent to me stating the obvious? sure... right. And yeah, I will continue to shit on the ridiculous "wah I didn't win, PB is rigged by non-active accounts" complainers and outside+ memers. It's stupid and it's always the same.
  • 3 0
@ream720: well thats your opinion and of course you're............entitled to it, HEYAAAAAA
  • 1 1
@Caligula1620: totally missed the point. opinions are fine. entitlement to PB prizes is not.
  • 1 0
@ream720: "totally missed the point" oh you poor confused thing....
  • 1 1
@Caligula1620: lol you're out of mental capacity to come up with anything besides an insult? what a worthless waste of a reply.
  • 1 1
"hol up lemme dodge the point they just made"
  • 1 0
@ream720: loool at you really trying to "win" this argument that I'm literally just spinning jokes off of. holy cow are you dense
  • 1 0
@Caligula1620: everything's a joke when someone makes you look dumb eh?
  • 1 0
@ream720: lol damn need validation much? you really feel you're entitled to a response huh.....
  • 5 0
Scrolled hopefully but realistically..... well, I'm consistent at least. Congrats to the winners.
  • 6 0
Congrats to all the winners, some absolutely amazing prizes there.
  • 5 0
Saw this, thought no one could complain any more, scrolled down, changed mind.
  • 4 2
I run a motorbike forum over at revtothelimit.co.uk/index.php

Each year we give away prizes like a motorbike trackday, merchandise, Hoodies, however it ALL goes to active members as if you don't post regularly you're not even considered for winning a prize.
  • 1 1
 Define "regularly"
  • 3 1
@Tambo: I don't need to really mate. If someone hasn't posted and isn't a recognisable name, then they don't get given the option to win the prizes. That's why i use things like "Thread of the month" as it requires the person to be an active member rather than a one-off spammer/created account. It's not defined by a set figure, it could be once a day, once a week, but needs regular and directed content. Some may think that's unfair, but if i'm giving away a £50 hoodie, it's not going to someone who has 0 posts.
  • 1 0
@weeksy59: fair enough, I totally understand the reasoning. I think PB just leave it as a random selection so that they can't be seen to have any bias at all. As soon as you start to introduce further criteria you open yourself up for criticism. For example, a user with 0 posts could be just as engaged with PB content as Waki, but they're just not commenting; it'd be unfair to deny them their prize just because they haven't been criticising the budget Vs baller series for having unrealistically cheap or expensive component choices. Your forum, your rules though Smile
  • 3 0
You know, after a while of entering contests and not winning, I now realize that the chances of winning are very small seeing how many people have accounts on pinkbike.
  • 5 0

  • 6 5
And the bike goes to... someone created an account back in 2020 end of November, when a PinkBike calendar sweepstakes started. No activity since then. Nice!
I hope you will have a great time riding your new Specialized Smile (you'll have enough time, since you're not accessing this page the whole year, just for prizes in December).
  • 4 0
not easy to win on pinkbike. I can not count the years I participated. But nothing so far.
  • 4 0
Perhaps user name does not check out?
  • 3 0
if you can't count the years you participated I suggest you take up maths.

  • 3 0
Dont despair guys, i am not a bot and i won a pair of crankbrother shoes 6 months ago, it can happen !
  • 5 4
Why do 98% of these names look AI generated? How can an inactive account "register" daily for the advent anyways? Were the bots turned on December 1 and turned off December 31st? Many questions.
  • 2 2
Technically speaking it is very easy to rule out the inactive accounts and also easy to find the burners. There are also no legal consequences if they add the rule that only entries of active and not fake accounts will be taken into consideration.

So i guess it is once again: same sh1t , different year.
  • 2 0
I haven't any admin friends on PB. So I hope after 30 or 40 years when I'll be 80+ I'll get a present to increase my riding skills...
Happy new year all of you!
  • 1 0
Congrats to all the winners. I probably used up my internet contest karma a couple of years ago when I won a Feedback bike stand back when Bike Mag had their holiday giveaway. But I'll keep entering!
  • 3 0
The text 'Congratulations to puffballs' made me giggle. Congratulations to the winners and thank you Pinkbike!
  • 2 0
Thanks, I'm glad my username gave you a giggle.

Surely there's some sort of mistake here! But thank you to the sponsors and donors for all the goodies.
  • 3 0
Hmmm, must have been a typo, I don't see my name anywhere.
  • 2 0
Several re draws? I don't get it, that's just me oh well always next year. Congrats to the winners bots or not.
  • 5 2
I have my sincere doubts about the Credibility of this contest....
  • 1 0
why do you have doubts? as one of the winners, it's clear it's completely credible. I was so surprised I thought the email telling me I'd won something was a scam, it turned out it's legit.
  • 2 1
Pinkbike, serious comment. I looked up just a few of the winners. Over half had 0comments 0points etc, basically ghosts on Pinkbike. Did you vet they are real people?
  • 1 0
Thought that all these companies were short on supplies?! How can they be doing this after telling me their part won't be in stock until 2069?
  • 2 0
My bots have failed me again. Pink1 to pink504 consider our relationship and your lives terminated.....until next year.
  • 1 0
If you want to feel a bit weird (and don't suffer from any photosensitivity nasties), try holding the Page Down button down after scrolling to the top of the page
  • 2 0
You’ve spelt stredda wrong, that’s ok just send the bike my way and I won’t mention it again
  • 2 0
Thanks, nice to just reconfirm to myself that I indeed have not won anything this year haha!
  • 4 1
Anyone else look for their own name even though you know you didn’t win?
  • 3 0
See you all in this comments thread again in 2023!
  • 3 1
with Advent being hyper-Christian, I'm thinking that only True Believers won. Outside+ is a megachurch!
  • 2 0
Good luck with that... still don't have the bike i won from last years contest.
  • 1 0
Congratulations to all the other winners out there! What a Christmas surprise! Thankyou Pinkbike and Outside+. And now the building begins!

The winner of the Best Username Prize is Pinkbike user GeneralGroovus. Congratulations GeneralGroovus
