Adam Brayton's Custom Scott Gambler - Cairns DH World Champs 2017

Sep 5, 2017
by Mike Kazimer

World Champs is a special event, an all-or-nothing affair where perfection is required to end up on the podium wearing the coveted rainbow stripes. It's also a chance to see a selection of stunning custom creations, one-off rides put together for just for this special race.

Adam 'Gas to Flat' Brayton's Scott Gambler is no exception, with a snow white frame decked out in all sorts of red and blue CNC'd goodies from Hope. Brayton finished 9th, 11th, and 13th at the last three races of the World Cup season; there's no doubt he'll put on a show come race day.

Once again, Hope went all out, and nearly every component has been anodized in the colors of the British flag.

It's all about the details - the hub shells and brake calipers have been laser etched with 'Gas to Flat'.

The carbon post is made by Hope in Barnoldswick, England, and even the seat collar has custom laser etching.

He's not going to do that well without pedals!

TAKE NOTES PIVOT! That is how you match Red, Blue and White! Beautiful execution
  • 3 5
Have you seen the Pivot dh bikes that FatCreations have done? They're a kind of sand colour with national colours added - very weird.

@mollow - comes from a dude with emblem of Austrian Association of Maple Planters

@WAKIdesigns: In case you weren't aware I didn't chose this flag nor designed it. Thanks for your very relevant reply Waki, as always.

it's rare you see a decent USA themed bike, Gwin's YT being the obvious exception, that thing was badass.
  • 1 0
would have been nicer if it was just black and white, but to each their own

@mollow: I am sorry for exercising flag shaming. My intentions were off course BAD. I indeed wanted to belittle you. You. Particularly You!

It's just a Trump edition fox fork on the front. He's leading the country right? Right? please someone tell me that they gave him fake nuclear codes. It is what i assume so i can sleep at night.

@mollow: Thanks for taking WAKI seriously even though you know who he is and what he does.

@laxguy: nobody has yet noticed that Austrian flag has horisontal stripes and Canadian has vertical... #disappointed

One of the best looking Gamblers I've seen. I like the colour matched linkages, makes the whole shock linkage area look less messy than normal.

Such a rad bike.... I'm surprised that after all these years of riding a gambler Scott hasn't given him the updated linkage or the carbon rear swingarm...
  • 6 0
Only factory riders (i.e. Brendog) get the full package from Scott. That's even if Brayton's Scott has performed better in the last 2 years. ;-)
  • 10 0
@Verbl-Kint: maybe they give the VS GSTAAD riders the better stuff so they can catch up with Adam on the stock bike!

@pimpin-gimp: Bout time the Dog lived up to expectation

I see a few downhill racers now opting for a top chain guide only. Obviously the tech is good enough to keep the chain in place but surely they need a bash to protect the chainring. Looks like Adam doesn't rock one.
  • 6 1
Go on Claudio, sign him up.

they decided to put the carbon where its needed... the seat post.

Absolutely gorgeous bike. That Hope post looks really hot. Love Hope.
  • 2 0
Sucker for ano, we need this back on trend
  • 2 2
White is the new black. Would have been cool to see more white. Fork lowers, WP spring, Truvativ handlebar etc, could be cool. That said, love this too.

Looks like a stormtrooper had sex with queen wearing her crown at the time.

  • 4 5
Also usable in New Zealand and the USA, per our countries' flags.
  • 2 3
See all the linkage on the scott downhill bike...no need!
  • 3 2
Its actually a very good linkage, stick to your single pivot orange if you cant comprehend how multi pivot bikes work
  • 6 0
 @Tr011: isn't it a single pivot, w/linkage driven shock?
  • 5 0
@Tr011: ya its a single pivot. So are evils. Not all single pivots are pig iron oranges.
