Accomplice, a mountain biking film that features a stacked group of some of the world's best riders is now available for streaming on Netflix after its initial release in 2020. If you haven't had a chance to watch the full film and you have a Netflix subscription you can give it a watch here. Accomplice follows MTB films like Deathgrip which has also been featured on Netflix and Anthill Film's Return to Earth that made the move to Amazon Prime for streaming last year.
I may have gotten something in my eye during the last segment.
The last image where they both caught some air may have caused my eyes to water just a bit.
Did anyone else felt like it lacked cohesion? it kind of just felt like a bunch of un-related edits mashed up, with a few scenes of the mccauls on a tramp bike, and a story at the end that is touching but doesn't tie in to the other parts of the movie whatsoever.
Isn't that what most mountain bike videos are? A mashup of different riders doing different things?
I felt the Stoke all the way through then the end had me in tears, so did the freeride footage in BC (originally from BC now in Ontario) thought it was all around a great story made to inspire new riders to get out there and get shredding even if they can't afford anything but a trampoline shredding jumper..
Just watched it. The whole thing was incredible but my personal favourites were, the sequence in Ladakh, the one with the trail dog Bentley, when they were in BC camping and the final chapter with Paul Basagoitia finding flow on his ebike. Will watch again.
I watched this on Netflix the other night after finding it by accident.
Let me say the old footage was mesmerizing and heartfelt. Gotta say I got teary eyed for quite a while.
well done lads.......friends.
Would anybody have a good link for the soundtrack of this film? I can't make out the song names in the credits on my small phone screen and low download quality. Thanks!
I did notice that Odesza got a track into this movie as well, after having featured recently in Deathgrip, Motive, and Vision and probably others too! I wonder if they are mountain bikers or if mountain bike film producers just like them?
Would this be the Barn by any chance? I was planning a road trip last summer through a bunch of the western part of the US until something that I will not mention ruined my plans. I was planning on making a stop at the Barn drive in.
so much respect for him throughout his huge riding career he just does things the way he wants and I respect it. He has also been robbed more than most.
This stuff is so far fetched for the average mountain biker... unrelatable...I think the bike industry will realize it and do what the snowboard industry did with carving and surf style snowboarding and focus on more relatable riding for their films. I know I would enjoy watching it more, and therefore get more inspired.
@SurfNC So basically, you would prefer the pros to just not put out any content? Your life would be better if it didn't exist, even though you can choose not to watch it? Idols are never average joes. Can you imagine if the batman movies were just a movie about a plumber dressed up in a bat suit?
Beyond all that, I'm sure almost everyone can appreciate the beautiful cinematography, surprisingly good theme/ story, and top level riding. One of the things I loved most about Accomplice is how they showcase all the pros just riding and hanging out with their friends and siblings and dog in a "casual going out for a rip" kind of way. They just happened to be good at riding. Really really reallly good.
