AbsoluteBlack Launches New Graphene Infused Chain Lube at $150 a Bottle

AbsoluteBlack, a company that has become well known for its oval chainrings, have launched a chain lube that uses graphene which they claim makes it market-leading.

AbsoluteBlack's first lubricant has taken two years of research with several of their own patents being secured before bringing it to market. The all-new wax-based chain lube called GRAPHENlube is claimed by the brand to be both the world's fastest and longest-lasting lube and it is also, interestingly, completely black when it is applied to your chain.

bigquotesIt took us two years to find the right ratio of crumpled to non-crumpled graphene, size of graphene platelets, dispersion rate of agglomerates, concentration and finally figuring out a low friction hydrocarbon emulsion base that will stay on the chain for very long time and not chip away like paraffin wax is known for. The end result is a lubricant that on a single application will hold sub 5 Watts of frictional losses over 900km distance.AbsoluteBlack

Absolute Black are pulling no punches with their claims on this one and have published the below video that compares the lube directly to Muc Off's Hydrodynamic lube, which was developed with Team Sky and also claims to be the best on the market for efficiency.

AbsoluteBlack says their new product is a “hydrocarbon-based water emulsion, containing graphene that exhibits extraordinary durability at single application whilst maintaining impressively low friction for a prolonged period of time in both wet and dry conditions.” When producing the new chain lube AbsoluteBlack have ensured it is completely free of any potentially harmful solvents and it is easy to apply as a liquid but it will turn solid as it dries into the chain. This solidification is to allow it to become more resistant to water washing it off or it becoming contaminated with other materials during your ride.

All this for $15

So it may save you watts but will it save you pennies? Absolutely not. GRAPHENlube is currently only being produced in small numbers and will be available for just a limited period of time once each batch has been produced. For this reason, AbsoluteBlack will only be selling the product directly. For just a 14ml bottle it will be $15 / £12 / €13, while the more standard size of 140ml will be a staggering $150 / £115 / €130. For comparison, the Muc Off Hydrodynamic lube shown in their test video cost £18 for the 50ml.

You can find out more about AbsoluteBlack's GRAPHENlube here.

Same, but I just want to add that I daily drive a TRD Toyota Tacoma and my 4x4 sprinter van just sits in the driveway for my two weekend trips a month. I also have two Yeti SB165 AXS Turq++ because I just keep one in the van and the other in the truck.

@NorCalNomad: it would be a greater inhalation health risk than entering waterways. As is we are putting PFAS into waterways with many current lubes. As lo as you’re not heating the chain up enough to aromatize the existing molecules/bits it’s unlikely to be a major contributor. Curious to see if they outline what mass ranges the lube is comprised of. Also, Carbon is everywhere... I don’t think formal tox studies have been done on humans or wetlands at this point though. Those types of studies are often years in the making for human exposure where as water/effluent studies take 2 days to a week depending on regulatory body. Until someone(state regulatory agency or EPA) enforces it or sees it as a concern to human health or an ecological risk nothing is likely to be done.

@AdeMiller: Ha, ha. I agree, it could have many uses. At this price, you certainly don't want to have any drip off your chain...might just be cheaper to just replace your drivetrain.

For $150 a bottle, what's in this stuff? Is it a miracle white powder that lasts for days?

Uses: Can be snorted, drank & even used to prevent the transmission of sexual diseases.

Warning: If snorted during riding, it can cause rider to try bigger jumps which can lead to serious injuries or possible death. If drank too quickly it can cause hallucinations. If used during sex, it can cause severe and very prolonged rashes. Please follow instructions and use sparingly!

@isaacschmidt: Do you happen to know which popular lubes do not use PFAS? I love RocknRoll extreme but suspect it has PFAS.
  • 1 0
@ToddandToni: I can't seem to find the article I was thinking of when I wrote that. I believe the statement was 5 of 8 had it. I'll do some more digging, I'm also not sure that any environmentally friendly lube has been formally tested. The dilution factors needed to run that type of sample matrix would be very high and there are likely issues with achieving any reporting limit of value unless they're doing the test on raw materials - even then it's a challenging matrix for lab instrumentation. I would venture that any teflon based/containing lube would have higher % of PFAS due to inaccurate production facilities and low QC in the industry.

Yeah, 100% roadie stuff. The benefits they claim are for "dry and low dust conditions", which is exactly the conditions you don't find mtb'ing.
It's just more beneficial in every way to keep your drivetrain clean than to spend ridiculous money on this stuff.

If it only gives half of the benefit they claim they could sell it for twice that and not ever get close to fulfilling demand. 7w at 250w for only $15 is ridiculous. To increase your FTP by 7 watts is like, months of hard training for a fit amateur, or years if you are a top level pro.
  • 10 0
If it's truly as beneficial as claimed, every endurance (road, XC, tri) pro / pro team should lining up at AbsoluteBlack headquarters right now to buy out each batch.
  • 10 7
Cool but unless it makes me corner quicker or jump bigger stuff they can keep it (or target roadies who actually care about those figures)..
  • 11 2
@bonkywonky: It will get you to the top of the hill for pretty significantly less effort meaning you have more energy left for the jumps and corners.

It matters less to mtbers but it is not worthless.
  • 28 0
@Paddock22: I'm not like, a lubrication scientist, but wouldn't there be a more scientific way of testing the same thing? Like, have a motor with a known power output put in a specific amount of power or something?

LIke you said, a huge impact for high performance racers and amateurs willing to spend the money if it's real. But I'll be shocked if just "slightly better lube" can create an extra 7 watts.

Also, my takeaway is that if magic lube can add an extra 7-watts to your drivetrain, I should probably rinse the muck off my chain and lube with my normal non $30/oz lube more often than I do.
  • 14 0
@Paddock22: Note that all their testing is over absurdly long distances without re-lubrication, in dry conditions. They state you have to re-apply anytime you ride in the wet.

I doubt there's any gain over a chain lubed every ride with something like Rock N Roll or White Lightning or whatever, as basically any clean and lubricated chain only has a total loss of 5-7W at 250W. There's no way they are knocking that down to 0W loss.

The only applicability for this product in MTB would be long, dry-conditions races. If I was competing for the podium at Leadville, I'd probably use it. I do know some dry-weather-only roadies who could probably get their money's worth lubricating their chain once a season.
  • 2 4
Also, it is 7w compared to the second best lube (according to the video) with no other differences between the drivetrains, if you were to swap from a dirty, worn, cheap lubed or dry drivetrain to a new, clean drivetrain lubed with this you wouldn't be unrealistic in assuming 25-50 watts of saving.
  • 2 0
Well cool and all, but it must hold those advantages outside the lab aswell. Wash the chain in mud, then throw some dust on it and do the lab test again.
  • 12 0
Read the application instructions on the website and you may be a little less inclined to buy it. You have to start with a completely clean chain and then you blow through a shitload of the stuff right off the bat by immersing the entire chain. Then you lube it again every 600km/370mi in dry conditions or EVERY time if it's wet and again before every race. It's going to take a lot more than $15 to get that 7w advantage. Always read the fine print!
  • 1 0
@Paddock22: I guess that's why UAE and JV are on board at the launch
  • 2 0
@fullfacemike: Sure, but if you were a roadie or XC racer of not-unlimited budget, couldn't you just train on a normally lubed chain, and then put $15 worth of magic-lube on your chain for the race?
  • 1 0
@atourgates: watch the vid with the science man , sounds easy enough
  • 1 0
@fullfacemike: when you clean the chain properly before you immerse it , nothing stops you from recycling the rest . I doubt you will actually loose shit loads on that .
  • 7 0
@atourgates: I'm with you, a 7 watt savings is significant in a sport where everything is optimized to the nth degree.

I can't explain any of the science or testing involved but maybe an independent lab or publication will do a test.

Another thing to consider beyond watt savings is drivetrain wear. If this product reduces friction by that much, I would think it would also decrease drivetrain wear. Might be something to consider in a world where cassettes can be almost $500.
  • 3 0
@atourgates: a lot of Roadies do this with their chains and drivetrains anyways. Have a set they beat up and put a lot of wear on for training, then pop on the super high end race chain and swap out your work rings for race day.
  • 4 0
Last weekend I replaced the original Zee rear mech pulleys and replaced them with new ones (from Tacx, with ball bearings). The original ones got pretty sharp and my drivetrain was feeling a bit heavy running by hand. The pulleys were pretty caked in the cage but I always thought hand force is no match to leg force. But when I rode a local loop that typically ride in 11:45 I now consistently rode in about 11:30. And I still may pedal only 25% of the lap at most (rest is pumping and coasting) so for road cyclists who typically pedal a larger part of their rides, a smooth running drivetrain probably matters even more.

I wouldn't go silly with fancy lubes for my kind of riding but taking the pulleys out for a proper clean/lube and maybe replacing them when toasted isn't even a bad idea.
  • 1 0
@Auto-XFil: exactly what I was thinking! That's so obviously just a bogus marketing claim, do they think we're all completely stupid?
  • 1 0

  • 1 0
@Svinyard: I doubt many enduro racers would be too keen. Seems like they're usually in it for more durable or bombproof stuff vs light and lightning quick (dh tires, full cushcores, heavy wheels, etc..) I doubt 7w is gonna mean they miss a liaison or not (but maybe it would if you're right on the limit). Perhaps it would make a difference in finishing position for the very top of the field on a really tight race ...perhaps it wouldn't. Also, the wet riding mud factor would be a huge turn off.

  • 5 1
It's all well and good to make fun of high-priced gear, but if the claims that this effectively saves 7w at 250w compared to another top-shelf lubricant (i.e. probably even more of a net savings as compared to the $10 teflon lube most of us throw on our chains) are true - that is worth every penny. I am very much an all mountain, "earn your turns", focused on the downhills type of rider...but picking up 7+watts for climbing is the difference between those days when its a struggle to climb, and those random days when you accidentally set an uphill PR without trying.
  • 4 0
CRC Graphite Dry lube when applied when I first get a new chain has been keeping them going smoothly for years and only $11 at the local autoparts store. I'm sure there are other graphite lubes for $20 or less also. Graphite lubes in general work best when applied to clean chains free of other contaminates to get the most of it. Otherwise, it just makes sense to use a quality chain lube from Motorex or Maxima from your local motorcycle store at way better prices and supporting your local economy.
  • 2 0
I might give that CRC dry lube a try next time I get a new chain. Good tip!
  • 4 0
I've already got a 14 mL bottle. Going to degrease my drivetrain before use, but I'll report back soon. If it lasts a long time and decreases friction, making the entire drivetrain last longer, it may actually be a good value.
  • 1 0
1st ride... smoothest drivetrain I've ever felt, brushed off wet/mud and after the ride my drivetrain looked exactly like when I 1st applied the lube, perfectly clean.

I did a thorough degreasing: mechanical, then detergent based citrus degreaser, then water wash/rinse/air compressor, then a very powerful solvent you normally would never use on chains, lol. I applied a drop or so of the lube to each chain link individually, then pedaled it around shifting thru all gears, let it sit overnight and wiped any remaining lube off.

It's not a product that is aimed at me, but I expected a bigger bottle to work out slightly cheaper than 10 small bottles.. Normally there's incentive to buying the larger quantity
  • 4 0
I found it ridiculous only to watch this promo video so, I didn't; but I would like to see a photo of someone who would buy it.
  • 2 0
 Two things:
1: PB editors put this up to watch y'all lose your minds, and I agree, the butthurt is strong here

2: Don't worry about buying it anyways, if the power claims are true all the Protour teams will be buying out the stock. 7w every 250 is YUUUUUGE
  • 2 0
It can only be bought in trendy city bike shops located in the haberdashery/apothecary district. One must say the password to enter (what IPA’s do you have on draft) and pass the rigorous mustache and tattoo sleeve inspection before purchase is allowed. Bonus... it can be used to repair your cracked yeti trail side.
  • 2 0
The day someone invents a lube which means ii no longer have to lube or maintain my chain they will get 150 bucks no problem ...till then dragons im out im surprised they didn't actually say there's all so a chain health monitoring app for when you need to do it next
  • 1 0
Several years I made my own lube from light guage oil and powdered graphite , it worked fine and the cost was $5 from the local Ace for 4 oz. I also made my own lube from 5/30 synthetic motor oil and mineral spirits. I think it was 2 parts mineral spirits and 1 part oil. There may be a market for AB from racers who are just missing the podium by a wheel length.
  • 1 0
Graphen and graphite are quite different. Graphite will definitely not provide the same advantages.
  • 7 0
I have always loved when people "make" their own lubes. I know a guy who uses alternating coats of WD40 and PBBlaster, he has been trying to get my to convert. Apparently I'm getting ripped off by spending $1 a year on chain lube.
  • 2 0
@RonSauce: yeah, at some point your time is worth more.
  • 1 0
Yep I am sure I did the same years ago, graphite is cheap as chips, and seemed no worse than other olis
  • 1 0
@samsquamsh: Graphite actually makes a decent dry lube.
  • 1 0
At the risk of sounding like a shill, SCC Slick is some good stuff. $25 for 2 fl oz, sounds pricey but it out lasts any other lube I've tried and runs clean and quiet. I'm getting 8-12 hours moving time before the chain makes even the slightest noise.
  • 1 0
Warning....the content graphene may be graphic in nature. Viewer discretion and use is advised. Some users have experience melting wallets and bank accounts when trying to use this product.

I’m glad there are people who will pay 150 to line their chain. I do live my chain but not with gold. Plenty of other alternative that doesn’t break the bank that does the same job.

After watching a video on how to replace tub faucet cartridge I came across plumbers grease. I was like hmmm...looks like slick honey without the bank buster price of $20 for 2oz. Went to Lowe’s and paid 3 dollar plus for about 2 0z give or take and was blown away in that this alternative looks and feels similar to Slick Honey. What for me was that it was good for o-rings. I don’t know if using it for bike o-rings is good but I don’t know if using it is bad either so I’m using it. I use it to lube my stanchions on fork, rear suspension, and dropper. So far so good. Don’t get me wrong slick honey was awesome but $20 for 2 oz got me going to my local Lowe’s for plumbers grease. Think found my new slick honey alternative gold. Won’t be long before Lowe’s realize and jack up their price to match slick honey..????????
  • 1 0
I'm about to purchase a 3rd chain this season due to stretch wear...sometimes I wonder why I even bother lubing and cleaning my chain! This is for my 11 speed. Incidentally, my 12 speed is still going strong with 1.5x the miles as any of those other 11spd chains. Inconceivable!
  • 6 1
Wait, people actually lube their chains?
  • 1 0
 Yeah quite surprising lol
  • 2 1
Saw this on Bike Rumor and have been looking forward to this post. However, pretty disappointed with the amount of actual debate about the product. Not what I skipped the article and scrolled down here for. Come on guys, there are surely dozens of good Yeti jokes just waiting to thought up.
  • 1 0
Specifically optimized for reducing friction in yeti/fox faux pivots?
  • 2 1

  • 1 0
 Don’t shoot the messenger!

Nah, f@$k it.
  • 3 0
This thing is about 100 times more expensive than the best extra-virgin olive oil. I'll lose some watt and stick to my bruschetta, thanks.
  • 3 0
Kind of funny to read biodegradable on the bottle. From what I've read we are just now finding out how bad Graphene is for the environment.
  • 2 0
They clearly have a sponsorship with Polo, that's an old Polo cologne bottle sans the gold lid and the spokesmodel is pimping his matching shirt. Does it smell like a HS dance?
  • 1 0
I'm sorry, wait what? what's a watt? What's Strava? I just clean and lube with White lightning and ride with my buddies. Cost = $7/bottle + post ride beverage (coffee or a cocktail) depending on the time of ride. Still has cash to buy gas and a new tire. Later dentists...
  • 1 0
Here, White lightning acts as both a chain lube and post ride beverage
  • 2 0
@nordland071285: POST ride?? I must be doing something wrong.
  • 3 0
I will hand it to Absolute black. They know their target market extremely well. If you'll buy an oval ring, you'll buy any snake oil.
  • 1 0
 chasing that precious extra watt....not.

FTFO Abs Black, you suck donkey balls since i bought a cassette from you that lasted 3 rides and you did NOTHING to help back when you were a new company. You burned that bridge with your cheese based crapola and i will never forget or buy from you again :-p

There, i feel better now :-)
  • 1 0
 Must read.
  • 2 0
I've been using that NFS lube for a few months here in the PNW. Seems to last a huge amount of time and smooth enough that I don't even think about it. 100% recommend.
  • 1 1
From that video, we can see a cyclist producing ~250watts and know there is 7.5watts power savings, this is a 3% power saving. Now, I’m not a professional cyclist so this doesn’t sound like a lot to me. In fact, I’m inclined to believe that $150 might be better spend on a professional bike fitting or coaching or something, but if you’re already a professional cyclist, maybe it’s worth it to you?
  • 9 0
If you are a pro cyclist you have probably already let your lube sponsors know you will be running this decanted into their bottles for the foreseeable future. That 3% on a 200km time trail could save you between 3 and 4 minutes, the winning margins on those things are usually in seconds, if this does what they claim there won't be a bike at the TDF that isn't running it.
  • 1 0
@Patrick9-32: sure, absolute black who make fancy looking rings out scienced the worlds largest lube sponsors.

‘Most sought after bullshit in the world’
  • 1 0
7.5 watts is pretty significant at pretty much any level of racing.
  • 3 0
I've been using CBD oil on my chain, costs less and and has excellent side effects if you are a chain licker.
  • 4 0
Is it not cheaper to buy a $5 lube and a new chain every few rides?
  • 4 0
Remember that article about pricing in this hobby? Here you go.
  • 3 0
To be fair... it's also Greenwashing marketing because they claim it's "Biodegradable"
  • 2 0
Pinkbike knows how to get the comment section going. $150 for chain lube? That's more than the cost of any chain it would like lubricating. MUC OFF!!!
  • 2 0
 Stfu nerd
  • 3 0
I hear they're selling the same stuff to triathletes and roadies for twice that price.
  • 4 0
I hear their flagship store will be opening in Dubai Big Grin
  • 3 0
your buddys on the parking lot: "mate do you have some chain lube for my bike"? nah buddy sorry, hahahahahhaha
  • 1 0
We already have enough plastic in the oceans and food chain and now we are going to start polluting with Graphene - Is it really worth it? This cannot be good for the environment!
  • 1 0
A designer White Lightning with black wax dye! Guess this is black gold for AbsoluteBlack. I didn't even know they made the oval chainring famous. I thought Shimano did that back 30 years ago with their ovaltech chainrings.
  • 1 0
Roughly, the Shimano BioPace is roughly 90 degrees to the current crop. BioPace was designed to even-out power throughout the stroke (make it easier on the powerful downstroke). In contrast, the newer crop are taking advantage of the most powerful part of the stroke (make it harder on the downstroke). That's why BioPace sucked unless you were spinning on a flat road in the countryside, listening to the birds and singing 'la la la la' as you rode along.
  • 5 3
Over the top, unproven claims: check

Bugatti logo rip-off: check

Overinflated price: check

Sounds like a good deal Smile
  • 3 2
'unproven' ? What do you mean by that ? As far as I can see there are some independent test studies available for you to look at . Also l think two tour teams wouldn't jump on something which was not tested by them and proven beneficial
  • 1 0
Wonder the difference between micronized graphite vs graphene powders since they are very similar. Testing would be simple to do and save the customer a lot of money.
  • 3 0
I use snake oil for my chain.
  • 1 0
OK , absolute Black now always out of my Interrest. 150 $ per Bottle - it looks like absolute Black is a company full of stupids
  • 4 0
 Is it April fools day?
  • 4 1
Can't wait to try this with the wife
  • 4 0
 Olive oil for the win
  • 3 1
I understand Covid disrupted a lot of companies April Fool's posts, but come on. It's a little late.
  • 1 0
Actually another benefit of this super lube is it even kills Covid19 on contact...
  • 1 0
I'm all for a small company making small batch products an charging accordingly. That being said, I just don't see the value in this for their core customer.
  • 3 0
I guess it's like with all top shelf products, do a core customer need a 11 6 shock for 1300 squids ?
  • 2 0
@samsquamsh: Yeah that's a fair point. As soon as I typed that out, I realized that their core customer is not the intended market for this. That being said, isn' a month of zwift for $!5 a cheaper way to improve power?
  • 3 0
Why Does it look like a men's cologne bottle?
  • 3 0
 It's actually just a mid-grade scotch...
  • 1 0
I mean, if it lasts damn near forever then the math might work out, but there seems to be no such thing as “long-lasting” chain lube in the PNW.
  • 1 0
seems to outlast everything that's out there on one application, obviously that's in dry road conditions but with it being an all condition product it might just be perfect for MTB too, especially for people like me who don't believe in lubing the chain more often than once a year Smile
  • 2 0
@samsquamsh: how can it both outlast everything and it need reapplying every time it gets damp?
  • 3 0
Is is chain lube of cologne?
  • 3 0
If I dowse a bit on me neck will I get laid?!
  • 2 0
Little jagged nano sized carbon flakes floating through the air while we sucking wind. No thanks.
  • 2 0
Rumor has it Christian Dior is coming out with a chain lube/cologne hybrid.
  • 1 0
I remember how this stuff turned with Zardos's replacement of ski wax...turned out to be really futtin orrible shite...just saying
  • 1 0
I was thinking of spending $1500 on a new bike, but screw it, I think I’d rather have 1.4L of this stuff instead. Waaaay more fun.
  • 2 0
I'll unfriend immediately anyone who buys this crap.
  • 2 0
I better be able to use this on myself as well
  • 1 0
Lube hack: You can put your worn out Vitoria tires in a blender and sprinkle the shavings on with the lube of your choice.

  • 2 1
Anything is better than the Muc-Off hype. That lube falls off the chain if you look at it wrong
  • 2 0
 absoluteBLACK can MUCKOFF !
  • 1 2
Absolute Black charging outrageous prices for a tiny barely noticeable product - you don't say! (Disclaimer - I previously owned an AB ring and sold it to fund buying 3 other normal rings.)
  • 1 0
Picture your favorite metrosexual standing at the fragrance counter searching for this glossy bottle!
  • 1 0
Does it cure chain stretch? That is usually what I end up replacing a chain from. Oh wait this will make me faster? I'm in
  • 3 0
 Looks like it does
  • 1 0
Chanel© will soon release a good smelling lube, at more or less the same price.
  • 1 0
Its funny you say good smelling. I use Scentsy wax for my chain. Works great AND smells fantastic. Try it out, seriously.
  • 1 0
@Thirty3: Ah yeah? and does it work well under armpits?
  • 1 0
I am so glad I didn't buy an oval chainring now that they are selling literal snake oil as an accessory.
  • 2 0
this will go great with a 10k hardtail
  • 2 0
Molten Speed Wax, same cleaning process, 1/5 the price.
  • 2 0
As far as i know MSW can't be simply dripped on the chain after initial immersion . MSW requires a complete clean of the chain and full reapplication by immersion ... and a slow cooker ???? or am i wrong ?
  • 1 0
@samsquamsh: oh no you are definitely correct, I just meant if you are already going to the trouble of stripping clean your chain you might as well use MSW as it costs much less and is much more durable. I use a hot plate and a pyrex pan and it works like a charm
  • 1 0
@surflife64: from what i can see MSW is no even near as durable and straight after application doesn't even provide as low wattage waste as this stuff after 1400 Km :-) just saying
  • 1 0
@samsquamsh: MSW has been by far the most durable in real world conditions of any "lube" I have used. Had problems with the mud/coastal conditions on local trails and tried almost a dozen different types. No doubt the MSW process is annoying but once you get setup it becomes easier. No chain lube lasts 1400km except for in a lab test.
  • 2 0
Molten Speedwax converted here! Sure if you want to prep a previously used chain for initial immersion, it can be a process... but prepping a new chain is a cakewalk, and re-application is just throwing it back into your $12 slow cooker! Every other lube is just trying to be a pure wax in an easy to apply drip bottle - being easy to apply means involving carrier solutions that just end up collecting dirt, turning black, and making a mess over time.
  • 2 0
Can I brush my teeth with it too?
  • 1 0
Yes, but don't swallow and with prolonged use, can cause severe mouth sores and irritation...
  • 2 0
Holy mother of God! $150! I'll just tell the wife it's cologne.
  • 2 0
Great I need something to match my $500 derailleur pulleys.
  • 2 0
Imagine the weight savings. . .
  • 1 0
Or they could have used MoS2 to similar effect and at a fraction of the cost. In fact, it would likely work better.
  • 2 0
They might as well call it Sex Panther.
  • 2 0
 Blah blah finish line green.
  • 2 0
...better come with a matching polo shirt...
  • 1 0
I'm gonna try and use a No.2 Pencil on my chain.. or should I go big with maybe a 6b?
  • 2 0
Can I just use £3 graphite powder ????

I'm interested from a longevity perspective, a commuter bike that doesn't need lube for a year is gold!
  • 1 0
 I love this community.

Real riders : are you kidding me, gtfo with that

Posers : I'm going to be so fast now
  • 1 0
I've been doing the math and if i buy every Watt enhancing product on the market my new FTP will be 3652. Is that any good?
  • 2 0
Graphene lube, $10 at SuperCheap Auto...

came here for the comments, wasn't disappointed. absolutewhack
  • 1 0
Now I finally understand why the Absolute Black emblem is very similar to that of the Bugatti.
  • 1 0
 Wadafak ?!!

And it lightens your setup as well. You save at least 750 g ... with all that money you don't have anymore
  • 1 0
Bless their hearts for giving us something rip on during these challenging times.
  • 1 0
Will they be showcasing this great product at all Dental Shows and Conventions?
  • 1 0
My medical insurance representative states, that my copay on this will be only $10
  • 1 0
seems affordable for all the claims. if it really works that good its worth at least 200% more
  • 1 0
Interesting side note about graphene: It plays a very large roll in modern battery technology.
  • 1 0
Wow. A new record low for the bicycle industry.
  • 1 0
Also gives you the world's closest shave.
  • 1 0
How many chains can I buy for that money?
  • 2 1
Nope. It's not that damn magical.
  • 2 2
Good job guys! Next up, how about some graphene velcro inside the fork to pass electrical charge back into my ebike motor?
  • 1 0
Time to stick this in my fork for extra plushness then!
  • 1 0
I am buying a chunk of crack and giving up the hoops
  • 1 0
 Hahahaha
  • 1 1
I'm really curious: How many of you exclusively use specialty chain lubes vs just some oil?
  • 2 1
I'm not chasing times and I run stock NX 11-speed but I've been happy with regular Boeshield on my drivetrain. $8/250mL is a little easier to justify
  • 1 3
I use the same oil as I put in my car, 5w20 synthetic. A litre will literally last my lifetime.
Also use it in my Totem.

Tried White Lightning, Sturmey, Boeshield 9 , paraffin etc. , then I had an epiphany one day figured it doesn’t matter and to just ride my bike.

  • 5 2
@jonesy-1: Racist? Not really, just the SJW mob getting their pitchforks out. People need to STFU and relax.
  • 2 0
@preston67: It was right after the article on being inclusive and race in the MTB community. I'm guessing he didn't pass the new "hateful and negative content" filter. Is RoadStain gone too? I remember him being the other major troll.
  • 2 0
 In his ass, probably.
  • 1 0
$150 a bottle lmao wtf lol
  • 1 0
but can I use in my beard?
  • 1 0
 “Market leading,” indeed!
  • 1 0
@pinkbike Maybe provide approximate $/km values compared to other lubes?
  • 2 1
Does it also keep away covid?
  • 1 0
FFS, stop, just stop. Go ride your bike.
  • 2 0
 Wtf?
  • 1 0
Wouldn't you want to clean your chain before 1800km? Just saying.
  • 1 0
The Ralph Lauren company shirt says it all...

  • 1 0
Hot lube with Scentsy wax. Best wax ever and smells fantastic!
  • 1 0
Looks like a washing powder advertising.
  • 1 0
A bottle this fancy might be confused and end up in the bedroom.
  • 1 0
Would look nice a the front shelf on my Bentley.
  • 1 0
Guess I'll go stock up on candles...
  • 1 0
With this lube being so pricey you gotta use it on everything Wink
  • 1 0
They should get the old lady Ethel (if still alive) from Frank's Red Hot Sauce commercial to promote this lube, "I use that Shit on everything"
  • 1 0
......Sooo this is a Muc Off add then?
  • 1 0
little late for April Fools day! Jerks!
  • 1 0

  • 1 0
 NFW GTFOOH
  • 2 2
And yet, Rock n Roll lube will outperform it for $8 per bottle
  • 1 1
interesting comment on a product that has just been launched , you tested it already ?
  • 1 0
@samsquamsh: No but Velonews did a test on all lubes. Even if it was better, it would not save 7 watts over Rock N Roll. unless it can do negative friction.
  • 1 0
 who lubes their chain?
  • 1 0
 But why tho?
  • 1 0
 AbsoluteBargain ;-)
  • 1 2
At that price I’d hope it’d be capable of doubling as anal lube.
  • 2 0
Every liquid is if you are brave enough.
  • 2 2
 $150 for a chain? HA!
  • 1 0
actually no chain included, just the damn lube (maybe it's a lifetime supply?)
