He's a perfect example of professionalism. One of the most focused and determined of any sport I've seen but he's also happy to talk with fans. Good luck at world champs Aaron!
Class act. Ever willing to acknowledge his team's efforts. Giving them credit ahead of himself....humble and grateful all while being at the top of his game! And let me just say DAYUM...his winning runs... rediculous! Chainless podiums! And that Windham run...Jesus! I feel like I did when watching Jordan back at UNC and throughout the NBA...one of the best ever! I feel lucky to bear witness!
I just love how professional he is. This guy works for his wins and he deserves every last one. Just like Rob said during the race... when he is on, no one can touch him. So respectful to the press and seems to love talking to fans.
I wish Steve would hit up every race other than a few a year. His interviews are really good. I remember one from VDS a few years ago with Rachel where they sat there and had a beer and discussed racing. Wicked incite.
OMG we finally get some gwinnage! Kinda seemed like pinkbike was turning a blind eye. Regardless of what anyone else says or thinks us Americans are "Gwinning from ear to ear"!
Glad to see Dirt giving the online thing a real shot. Hope to see more of this type of thing. Mr Jones is going to need a little more practice though haha
Gwin has certainly grown on me as a person this year, I was a bit turned off by his constant praising of god/whoever in every interview he did the past few years - each to their own and all that but for me it just kinda ruined it. If your relationship with Jesus is so personal, why do we keep hearing about it.
This year it seems to be toned down somewhat, and nobody can doubt his determination and effort to win, which he so truly deserves. He's an amazing ambassador for the sport.
Why be turned off by his love for God? I mean to say that Christians are called to let their faith be known and to be unashamed of the Gospel. The fact that it comes up with him shows that he's not the "only on Sunday" Christian that today's world has become filled with and in my opinion it makes him even more real and down to earth because of his openness. I think that's why we keep hearing about it. Just my opinion from a standpoint similar to that of Gwin.
That's perfectly fine and I respect your view, that what makes the world different.
It's just that you don't hear aetheists or people of no fixed religion going around letting "their lack of faith be known" to the the masses. Isn't that why you go to church in the first place? Everything in it's place.
The mtn is my church as well, I talk to God when I ride.. I can care less who knows it, when I DH I pray he watches over me and others. I love the sport on all levels as do most of the people here! lets not get into it about that shit.. Congrats AG on a great career winning 41% of all WC races...that's insane.
People who have faith in God believe He helps them in different aspects of their lives. If Aaron believes that God gives him the ability/safety/protection to ride the way he does then why wouldn't he want to be thankful for that and express it publicly? And I do know a lot of atheist who are very public about their opinions. It goes both ways, it's the world we live in. Different beliefs and different opinions.
I don't ride a mountain bike, nor do I like them. I'm just saying I don't like them. What kind of a twat can't appreciate what someone else likes? Does every fist bump to god have to be accompanied by a negative comment?
I was standing next to them when they were doing the interview and I saw a halo behind his head so give him a break @Protour. Your faith in faultyness of Demo axle path is far more delusional than belief in virginity of Holy Mary
3 hours later and hasn't even got to take off his clipless shoes. Awesome. Class act.
Even made it known he felt like Troy was the man to beat that day in other interviews.
I think he's become much more professional this year too. Wouldn't be surprised if he's been coached for that too. Notice his hat is on frontwards now so you can see his sponsor. Little things like that are important. He's had a great season too. Incredible riding.
I messaged the Specialized mechanic the other month with some retarded question , he replied within the hour, and was really helpful.
Their must be a really good vibe flowing through that team and it's paid off, congratulations to Team Specialized.
"ride a bunch of motos and send it" i guess the MX is the way to train, i must say since i got my moto i ride it everyday for 1 hour before i do DH on the bike, my riding progress went way faster and higher
I didn't really like Gwin during his whole career, but this season he seemed so much more open and just happy to ride his bike. I started to enjoy watchig him and I really started to cheer for him. That's a decent man, truly passionate, humble and stoked on what he's doing. He doesn't look like he's just a fag riding bike really fast anymore. That was something special- real GWINNING!
I don't trust anyone that doesn't drink.. While Gwin is giving this interview, the whole Specialized crew is getting hammered with the Syndicate guys. Their like, Specialized booth is a DRY booth, but we know where the fun booth is!
Well that never gets old, thanks for the rerun! And that's the winners attitude right there..humbled, has fun, knows when he's on top/situational awareness=realistic expectations.
Laid back, humbled, easy to talk to, friendly, throws shakas...vs standoffish, short, no eye contact, secluded, ...think Kimi Raikkonen(iceman) of F1 vs Riccaiardo(mr. Smiley)
he just seems super humble and stoked to be there. awesome to see a winner like that. to be fair most the sportsmanship among all the riders is pretty cool...good to see everyone shake the hands of people on the podium after their runs.
He gave his black series leader jersey to a random dude who asked for a free jersey (one that was late for Great Italian pillage of Troy Brosnan jerseys). I was impressed.
The act of doing something really cool. It takes it to a whole new level.
Q. What are you doing with your life?
A. Gwinning, Duh!

I'm in it to Gwin it!

Negative comment=keep it to yourself
Zen bro Zen
What kind of a twat can't appreciate what someone else likes? Does every fist bump to god have to be accompanied by a negative comment?
Because it is a completely illegitimate delusion?
