These guys aren't enduroing properly, everyone knows that when you're enduroing you have to enduro as hard as you can at all times, or you might be mistaken for a trail or an all-mountain biker, and that means never stopping even to talk to your fellow enduroers. Seriously am I the only one that spotted this?
see thats where your mistaken, the only time you can stop enduro-ing is for the untimed climb back up, thats when you whip out the un-enduro smart phone to comment on enduro.
One of the guys on this video was at the Angel Fire Enduro last year and got into a huge (near) fight because someone "cut in line" regardless of who might have been at fault it was an embarrassing display of sportsmanship and this was from a lift accessed stage, not a pedal up stage. Self deprecating humor though might be evidence of a more mature outlook on our hobby....at least I hope so.
Tt was more than some small quiet argument. There were minutes long yelling....to my recollection things such as, "I hope you fall and break your f*cking neck..I hope you die....etc. etc. and it didn't end there, they continued to confront each other at the bottom during the after party. You know, people like to drink beer eat food and enjoy the experience not have to listen to that kind of bullshit. But hey, If I'm a douche for being disappointed and annoyed at what was an otherwise positive and fun experience, then well. I'm a massive douche.
I cringed when I saw the rasta outfit for one reason. The last satge at angel fire BME.
The "rasta boys" were...well, a giant pain in the a$$. A lot of people talked about banning them as a joke. Then on angels plunge (last stage start point) the yelling and bs started. It was disturbingly awkward for everyone.
@minotro, I agree it was a good experience. Save for the five mins of "I hope you die!!" while everyone wondered what the hell he was on. But the race was over two days and one dude in an "enduro specific rasta douche top" didn't ruin it.
And a solid 27.5% of bike racers in all disciplines have a button on their taint that, when press either by sitting on a bike or wearing a tight chamois, makes them into complete raging a*sholes with the maturity of a spoiled 13 year old.
I never understood why chamois are such a big "thing". I rode in an endurance race for 7 hours, no chamois, just under-armor shorts with regular shorts over them. My taint didn't explode lol sure it hurt, man up! /ranting
Yeah I thought the dude getting verbally accosted was remarkably composed about the situation, not sure what that was all about but the scene up top on the last stage was just embarassing. Seems to me the rasta dude was lucky, the other guy looked like he could have throttled the belligerent rastafarian.
So story goes, that guy keeped cutting the lines all during the event. So , i called him out. Granted it went a little too far. But if you riders, who probably finished behind me, Went to the rest of the events you would have seen how good team Rude Boy was for the culture of this racing discipline. See you haters this season bigger and better.
I guess every sport needs a villain. haha, just kidding, have a good season and DO NOT GET INJURED. I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND DO WELL!
no really, I mean it. good luck.
Anyone that's ever ridden at Blue Mountain, Ontario can relate to the hikers. We have a local points rating for taking these idiots out, since they cannot read the big red signs that say "These trails are for Biking ONLY". It may not be #enduro but it's damn FUN!
Thanks for watching everyone and leaving awesome good and bad comments I love it all. This was the hardest #enduro editing I've ever had to do and I will have the word Endruo in my Dreams for the next couple months haunting me, but I think it was worth it.
That's why specialized enduro is the bike of the year and please be very careful on how you use the name enduro you can be sue by specialized they own enduro
My wife and I had this conversation just the other night while we were watching a DH world cup. Me "So this is Downhill, which as you can see only goes downhill and then there's XC or trail which is what we and most people are doing almost all of the time" Wife "So what's Enduro?" Me"umm...hmmm. I think it's something in the middle but I've also heard it depends on what side of the pond you live on"
I thought this video was hilarious, the best I could come up with in our conversation was that it was slightly less aggressive downhill racing in a stage race format.
Yea I agree with that. It's basically long, slightly less aggressive downhil riding. People always like to say it's an all mountain race, but to me if you are not timing the climbs or even taking a lift for some stages then it's still a gravity discipline. Which is why the ex downhillers have a lot if success when they transition over.
"It's like trail riding, but not for fun" haha. Funny, but I hope in real life people are just stoked on bikes regardless of what they call their discipline
i buy my Enduro trail specific bike specific protein that only helps me on the un-timed climbs.
also night riding is not Enduro... its only training for racing in sun light which is Enduro
Nope, It's just in disguise. I heard big mountain looks a lot like freeride. And DH racers have been spotted doing something that looks suspiciously like "sending it".
sometimes I go hucking on my AM rig...is that enduro or freeriding? sometimes I go trail riding on my freeride bike...is that All mountain or Enduro? some time I go Snow riding with my fixie....is that fatbiking? some time I ride XC with my DH rig is that DHXC? or is that enduro? sometimes I ride trials on my fatbike...is that trials, fatbiking or is that enduro?
I have 8 bikes and now i just dont know which one to ride when!
I don't think I can endure these comments any more I suppose you could use this word for anything like I don't know if can endure you constantly talking shit all day about mountain biking .
Wasn't Enduro supposed to be a discipline where the average Joe could could take part on any bike so that he could have fun despite there lack of funding or fitness? Now look... Enduro bikes cost more than any downhill or XC bike! The biker of limited means once again left out because now he feels he doesn't have the right equipment. I bought a GT Sensor because I couldn't afford a full DH bike thinking I could compete in Enduro instead... Turns out 120mm isn't "Enduro specific".... Back to the drawing board I guess...
I know its a joke but, the premise is that there's some confusion of what enduro is? its a race format! everything to do with it is enduro! all mountain, xc, trail there lines between those formats is far more confusing.
Wellll, good satire is tricky. For the most part, this misses because it's really only one joke, but props for the effort. It's good to poke fun at ourselves.
The "rasta boys" were...well, a giant pain in the a$$. A lot of people talked about banning them as a joke. Then on angels plunge (last stage start point) the yelling and bs started. It was disturbingly awkward for everyone.

It's just a part of it.
Good god, what is this world coming to!
Me "So this is Downhill, which as you can see only goes downhill and then there's XC or trail which is what we and most people are doing almost all of the time"

Enduro = Next "new" thing MTB corporations are selling to the sheep. Anyone try to trademark it yet?
I have 8 bikes and now i just dont know which one to ride when!
Is there an APP for that?
so enduro..
That's as true as it gets
When discussing bikes, the term should only apply to models/builds that would be SERIOUSLY competitive in the "E"-word Format.
When discussing riding, the term should only apply to the race format.
Lastly, NOBODY "rides enduro".
So I really don't care to hear the "E" word until one has a proper bike and actually RACES.
This is the last enduro specific post I'll write. (I may have to stop visiting PB if I get too annoyed)
Thanks.
Great Vid cheers
Absolutely true!
i shouldn't like hikers?
i dont like hikers
