Once again Trail Crew Design (TCD) is proud to bring another bike park to the province of Alberta. After years in the making the town of Lethbridge will be building a municipal bike park for its citizens. In late 2009, TCD was contacted by the City of Lethbridge and the Lethbridge Area Cycling Association to design a city park. TCD was excited at yet another opportunity to expand the amount of riding Alberta has to offer. The project begun at the grassroots level with a group of riders lobbying government for a park. They organized, themselves, they brought together their ideas, they contacted the professionals, we discussed their needs and wants and they trusted in us to create something amazing for them. In return we have created a huge park full of goodies. Just to give you folks an idea of how big this park will be, think 6300m3 of material that will be sculpted into a whole world of awesome. Long story short, 30+ jumps, 2 pump tracks and a skills track.

TCD spend the last year and a half in the design and approvals phase. GPS, 3d Modelling and compiling a metric ton of information and teaming up with local landscape architects Stantec to produce a full set of engineered drawings for the City. Now the time has come to turn the plans into reality. Starting May 2, 2010 the ground will be broken and the work will not stop until the City of Lethbridge has a park to ride. If you are interested in helping shape this park into a masterpiece please email us http://www.trailcrewdesign.com/contact/

The park will consist of a monstrous staging area that will serve as a start ramp for a beginner, intermediate and expert tracks. The lines will weave and flow their way down and be jam packed with rollers, jumps, transfers, quarter pipes and more. TCD also teamed up with pump track guru Lee McCormack of http://www.leelikesbikes.com/, so you can be sure these will be the best pump tracks around! Lee was able provided drawings for two pump tracks that will be set up side by each allowing for unlimited flowtastic times. The site will also feature a skills line consisting of wooden features that will allow riders to practice riding elevated bridgework in a controlled environment.
