The Future is now! At least that is what people told us in the nineties. We were promised jet packs, cities floating in the ocean and with the evolving of Ipads & tablets to be liberated from any kind of fixed video format. Since we can’t deliver the rocket backpack, we can at least bring you the first ever mountain bike tallscreen video.

... shame Apple doesn't agree and prevent you from watching avi and Flash video ... will have to wait until I log on at a PC

Interesting vid, interesting format, nice shots but why ruin it with the awful colours? Was that white balance or what? Just kinda seemed as though it was a bit too 'different' and detracted from my enjoyment...

I liked the colour mix, I thought it made it more relaxing, not having to deal with the full spectrum and it tired the presence of sky in nicely with all of the shots, and because its a tall screen the sky was in almost every shot. I watched this on my widescreen laptop, and i gotta say the image still looks great. The horizontal tracking shot was weird, but all of the still camera where we got to see the sky, the ground, and the trail ere awesome. It makes me want to shoot in tall screen. Thanks for pushing the envelope guys

Thanks Ty, it won't be the new standart format in video making but it was definitely worth the fun. Reunion is an amazing place to ride, from vulcano dessert to jungle you get everything. Plus it's super hot while the rest of the world is freezing their asses off

vimeo plays in HtmL.5 which is the accepted format for all mobile apple products. My iphone 4 being able to play this is proof of that.

While I agree that this won't be the new standard in video making, and there is a good reason why the standard is landscape... it was a cool experiment, and I must say that your composition of each scene was really optimized for portrait view. Not just a standard video changed to portrait for the sake of it. Nice work!

I don't mean to say this video is bad in any means, but I want to point out that the human brain is designed for seeing things landscape format. Our peripheral vision forms an elongated ellipse which is closest to a landscape rectangle (because our eyes are side by side). So the regular format is more natural. Still cool though!
