Leogang announces 2007 event dates

Shortly after European bikeparks closed down for the season, Bikepark Leogang announces its highlights for 2007.

Last summer, the spectators in Leogang saw history in the making – the first ever double backflip on a mountain bike. In the year 2007, there is no telling what will happen in Leogang during the Out of Bounds weekend, the Kona White Style winter session or at the IXS Cup downhill race.Kona White Style 2007


In Leogang, the bike season starts a bit earlier than in other resorts: the first weekend of February 2007!

The Kona White Style is the winter counterpart to dirt jump contests in summer – that means mountain bike freeride action on snow. The contest will happen on the evening of February 3rd, 2007. It will take place in the centre of Leogang with 20 invited riders. Be there when the world’s best freeride mountain bikers are competing on snow at this winter expression session. It will certainly be interesting to see who can transfer their skills to the cold, snowy terrain. To warm up after the snow, the contest will be followed by a traditional Leogang after-contest party!

Out of Bounds


After the Kona White Style Contest, the next big bike event in Leogang follows in June: The Out of Bounds weekend, which will take place from June 7th -10th 2007, right after the bikepark opening in May. With the BRAUN 26TRIX and the Kona “Top to Bottom Eliminator”, the Out of Bounds weekend has been established as a permanent fixture in the freeride and race schedule. In 2007 the freeride spectacle will take place with a new edition of the BRAUN 26TRIX. The downhill eliminator will be replaced with an innovative Dual-Freeride race.

IXS Cup


For the first time, the IXS Cup will be held at the Bikepark Leogang in 2007. The international race series, which takes place in Switzerland, Germany and Leogang as the only stop in Austria, represents the biggest downhill series within the German speaking area. Up to 500 downhill riders are expected to come to Leogang for this event on June 30th/ July 1st, 2007. All avid downhill racers should make a note of this date because it also counts for the international overall results.

Park news


Leogang’s bikepark is considered one of the best bike parks in the world, with a new 2.5 km single trail reaching from the Summit Station down to the Intermediate Station. In addition to the new trail, there will be a kids training course with a conveyor belt next to the Valley Station. Thus not only the hardcore freerider will enjoy the trails in the park, but also beginners and kids now find better possibilities to experience the Bikepark Leogang.

2007 will be a great year to visit Leogang, Austria. Between the Kona White Style event in February, the Out of Bounds weekend in June and the IXS Cup in July, it will be a happening place to be, no matter what season you choose to visit.
