Famed mountain bike videographer Aaron LaRocque has been following Jordie around as he plans, organizes and tests out features for Jumpship 2012. He’s been working extremely hard, so we’ve decided to give Pinkbike.com readers the first sneak peak into the process of creating Jumpship.
Big air, spectacular tricks and high-seas adventure are all returning to Victoria B.C.’s Inner Harbour for Jumpship on June 22-24, 2012. Last year Jordie Lunn designed the first Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour dirt jump event on a barge. This year he’s returned, determined to do it bigger and better than before. Here’s what people had to say about Jumpship 2011:
There's three things I loved about Jumpship; the great environment, the great riding and both of them! hahahahahahaha - Brett Tippie
Jumpship last year was one of the most fun events on the series I think. There's tons of beer, bikes and babes. What more could you ask for? - Geoff Gulevich
This event is crazy, sign me up for next year! - Mr. Tube Steak Guy
Jumpship showcases the world's best freeride mountain bike riders competing in Victoria B.C.’s Inner Harbour before a crowd of over thirty thousand. It will bring mind blowing skill and fearless competitiveness to a new level as 30 FMB riders will battle for cash and personal pride on the surface of a floating barge in Canada’s most beautiful city.
The Inner Harbour is the bustling, vibrant, center of action in Victoria. Filled with tourists all summer long, it presents a competition venue unlike any other. With live music and beer gardens there is something for everyone, whether a fan of cycling or not. Set against a picturesque backdrop of yachts, tall ships, and beautiful buildings, Jumpship brings freeride mountain biking into the heart of an urban centre to create a free experience like no other.
