Blur B2 GogglesWe were first given a few pairs of these Blur B2's earlier in the year to test by the guys at Fli who are O'Neal Europe's agents in the UK, and we've been left impressed. First picking them up in May and then racing virtually every weekend since has given us plenty of time and opportunity to find out if we like them or not. Features include a stiff frame and thick triple density foam, both of which seem effective in reducing the feeling of pinching to your nose which is no doubt a good thing, especially when racing and you need all the air you can get to your lungs without restriction. And that all means that it isn't necessary to start tearing at the foam of your brand new goggles to get a better fit. The triple density foam is a slight misnomer, really being a stiff layer of foam molded directly to the frame with a thick, softer layer on top. The surface that then goes against your face is covered with a standard felt like material which proved comfortable even after lengthy periods wearing them.
Lenses are your usual offerings, with a clear, anti fog one being fitted as standard. Blue, smoked and mirrored are all available aftermarket and in due course it is likely that Fli will be offering a range of others too. For those who have a tendency to ride in nasty conditions tear-offs are available and all lenses come with the pins to run them. Also fitted is a clip on the strap to hold the tabs down when you're running more than one tear-off and which is easily moved to suit your preferred side. We spent most of the season using the blue lens which suited the majority of our riding perfectly which was a good thing given that the stiffness of the frame occasionally made changing lenses an almost tear-inducing task, that was until we dialed in our technique. The lenses also seem very resistant to scratching with careful cleaning, meaning that we haven't had to replace a single lens due to damage since we started using them.

Another feature of these goggles is the wings to which the silicone banded strap attaches. These wing-like protrusions are now a relatively common find on top end goggles and help prevent the frame being twisted out of shape and away from your face by the strap. The easily adjustable strap was also able to fit everything from a bare head right up to an extra large Arai MX lid.
Obviously fit is going to be a very personal thing and what works for one rider will not necessarily work for the next, dependent on face shape and helmet being worn. That said, we personally rode these Blurs initially in a TLD D2 and later a D3 and found no issue, the frame sitting well inside even the occasionally cramped opening of the older D2. We also gave them to several other riders with various combinations of helmets and again came across no issues with fit.
As fit is personal, so is coloring and there should be something available to suit all tastes; from the slightly subdued black Phobia to the far more wild and lurid red Karma (both featured here). Graphics extend from the painted frames onto the straps with matching rubber logo on the left hand side, all wrapped up in a similarly decorated microfiber bag.
What do we think? With so many great goggles on offer from many manufacturers, there is stiff competition from all corners. With a shape that seems to fit the majority of faces and helmets we tried they certainly pass the first test. Comfort is good and they resist steaming very effectively, even in the worst conditions. Certainly recommended, it all comes down to whether you like the fit and design. If you do, then you're onto a winner as the quality is right up there with the very best, and despite being frequently used in pretty atrocious conditions, they still look brand new.

Goggles can be a very personal choice - everyone has their favorite - but we're big fans of the Blur B2. They resist fogging, stand up to some abuse, and fit great. Lets hear what you think of them!
But in respects to the gogs, I've been wearing Blurs exclusively for 3 years, no complaints from me! I think people expect way too much from something that just needs to allow you to keep your eyes open in the grime, so why spend 4X as much on gogs that do the exact same thing as these?
BTW...you can still get the Blur B1s and they come in regular ol straight colors.
I have no instructions and looking at it seems impossible.
Cheers
