...when I see people pushing up when the have the money time and option of shuttling, it is known as STUPID, not cheating.
As well as people who live closer to the course so are more familiar with it.
In such a highly sponsored and professional sport, why are we restricting our best to stay in the past?
☝LOPES☝
It seems that EVERY time I'm at whistler, I have roughly the same thing happen with other riders "checking it out".
BAD, BAD place to stop , kids!
Hearing bryan lopes say that the jump is too short makes me feel alot better about it.
Im not even in the same league as Lopes, nor the locals of Whistler or really the fast amateurs ( you know guys not pro ... yet ) I do like to blast a-line once or twice when I do visit and I do stay outta the way of the fast dudes. But I do feel as if I'm held back from being as fast as them because they make it stressful or because I am getting out of their way. I think there needs to be a better system so the fast guys can pin it with no slow people on it.. and a time where slow people or the not pro's can become better and smoother and eventually faster on it. ( if your familiar with the way most community pools are set up this next comment will make sense ) They need to run a -line like the community pools.... club/pro level times, intermediate lap times and then open pool/everyone welcome.... everyone welcome/open pool because your never gonna get faster following someone your own speed and you'll never progress if you never have to work your way around slower riders ( slower rides means you'll have you use your skills to keep your flow ) I don't think this is the first time someone has suggested this.... but makes good sense and worth repeating I think.
Stoked to have mr lopes shred a lap for us.. I wanna cheer for the local British Colombian but I think the win in Canada has gone to his head with riding a 650b bike.... Sir Lopes.. destroy this young chap on your 26er please. Show the industry that yes there may be a place for other wheel sizes.. but that 26 inch bikes are still just as fast. ( Oh and fun )
