Pacific Northwest Enduro season kicked off with a bang on Saturday. I'm talking about Round 1 of the 2017 Cascadia Dirt Cup. The first stop was held at the popular local favorite Tiger Mountain. This year saw the addition of the much anticipated new trails Legend and Megafauna. Because of the heavy winter rainfall, this almost didn't happen. But the builders and numerous volunteers from Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance worked their butts off to get it open just in time. Many feared that the day would be tarnished with torrential rains, but the weather played nice, giving us the gift of mild temps and overcast skies. This lead to fast dirt, and lots of smiles.
Starting it off with a quick riders meeting.
Volunteers awaiting their assignments.
Local company and event sponsor FSA was there giving neutral support for anyone unlucky enough to need work on their bike on race day.
The Pro Men's field making their way up to the summit for Stage 1.
Rain clouds made threats, but that all.
Luke Strobel dropping in for a blistering run on stage 1
Expert Kyle Write making his toward the finish of the exhausting Stage 1

Timing stations provided a quick rest before pointing the bike back uphill for the grueling climb to the next stage.
Expert Women Amy Josefczyk and Cristine Smith heading up to Stage 2 with Pro Linnea Rooke.
Many riders were riding Megafauna blind because of how new it was. It went well for most, but not all.
