This might be the first time anyone's said this but I think that Cube looks the best
  • 16 0
That is one gorgeous bike. Ties in really nice with the kashima.
  • 38 2
 Not enough Commencals?
  • 8 0
 That Cubes triangles look amazing!
  • 7 0
gotta say that first blue/white commencal gets my vote...kinda reminds me of the old Kleins
  • 6 0
There is also a reason they didn't include the fork lowers in the shot. Looks so good except for the orange. Shoulda went with black lowers or if they had any more of the root beer color. Overall stunning tho
  • 1 0
@PauRexs: They had the chance to make a paint job that could finally match the Dharco uniforms
  • 7 0
@rrolly: really brought the room together
  • 4 0
Jordan Williams' Saracen myst looks damn good as well
  • 4 0
 @kirny6: nice marmot
  • 2 0
Kashima downtube reduces friction of tthe flying rocks so they slide away instead of damaging the frame :-P
  • 5 0
I bet it smells of rich mahogany and leather bound books too
  • 4 0
Agree, would be interesting to get info from cube as to exactly why the paint job on Danny Harts bike seemed like a bit of an afterthought, while this one is so incredible?
  • 5 0
@Onetrakcmind: Harts bike looks like they want him to leave cube ^^
  • 1 0
The paint job is amazing, but that head tube ruins it for me imo
  • 1 0
@jammf: bike smells, the new standard...
  • 1 0
Agreed - better than the Session that looks like it.
  • 1 0
@likeittacky: Looks like Mahogany from a distance. It’s the king of the woods.
  • 1 0
 @d0wnhill-d: no, Tiger is.
  • 53 1
BK with the exotic cars reference is on point as always
  • 19 3
Yeah that Phoenix 29 looks great in white with the Martini stripes. Except for the orange fork. That ruins it a bit.
  • 5 1
@Muscovir: It was odd on his vlog yesterday where he tried to make out it was intentional to have the orange lowers - made me think that they either forgot or there were some colour coded ones that someone said no to (maybe fox not approving the colour for a sponsored athlete?)
  • 10 0
@Puddings: I am not a huge fan of the orange lowers myself, but several of the Martini Porsche 911's did have Shell sponsorship that included an orange lower valence. Perhaps that was the look they were going for? I don't know, just a thought.
  • 30 1
@sarahmoore - y'all really need to throw a poll together so we can pick our favorites out of all of these beauts
  • 4 3
 What’s the ad revenue potential?
  • 1 1
 @Mattysville: engagement and interaction.

Loving the red of peron and holl’s bikes. Like the martini racing vibe of kerrs pivot
  • 4 0
My favourites are well, the subtle double helix on Holl's bike is gorgeous
  • 1 0
@src248: That pattern looks amazing in the wide shot, the first close-up does not do it justice
  • 1 0
Passionnant. Keep on discovering your tastes mate, and keep us in touch in case you change your opinion.
  • 19 4
Dear Pink Bike - Ed Masters is riding a Phoenix, not a Firebird. Both are mythical birds of fire, so I can see how it's confusing...
  • 6 0
but I think he's faster on a firebird tho ...
  • 6 0
Next in the Pivot lineup- the Icarus. ;-)
  • 17 2
It's tricky keeping track of what bike Eddie is riding these days. That's been corrected.
  • 17 0
Also worth noting, Ed Masters's bike is painted as a tribute to Burt Munro ,of "The World Fastest Indian" fame.
Awesome movie and history, everybody should see it.
  • 2 0
 @nozes: 100% agree
  • 1 0
@nozes: Dang I didnt pick that, glad you pointed it out
  • 11 0
Ed Masters Pivot. Just watched the Worlds Fastest Indian again last night. Best of luck to everyone.
  • 8 0
Get yourselves over to the Swiss tent and see the Gamux built bike, god it's lovely! Was chatting to the guys there tonight and taking up their time. Bit it's a fine fine thing 1 piece ally triangle, gearbox setup, high pivot and usd forks from manitou. Awesome thing.
  • 10 0
Putting stuff on the Atherton almost seems wrong
  • 5 0
 @danielfloud
Almost as wrong as calling Andreas Andrea
  • 2 0
@initforthedonuts: was just gonna say that. Misspelled Andreas
  • 7 1
YAY, the embargo has been lifted! Good thing we didn't see them beforehand!
  • 3 0
OMG that one is the best! (Scrolls down) OMG look at that one! (Scrolls down) WOW that’s a beautiful bike! Ok my bike is a piece of crap now because it’s one uniform color. In all seriousness though, I love Atherton bikes and think some color looks pretty good on it.
  • 2 0
What is the secondary bar on Myriam Nicole's Commencal Supreme that runs the length of the entire fork? Is it a sensor for tuning or does it actually serve a purpose while riding? Never seen something like that before
  • 12 1
They will probably be trying to route a cable through it
  • 15 1
 Front wheel drive shaft.
  • 14 1
Bike pump, incase she gets a flat during race run.
  • 8 1
telemetry, you can see it on shock as well
  • 1 0
@bok-CZ: that makes sense...its also on Thibaut Daprela's Commencal Supreme, which seems to be covered in sensors
  • 4 0
Honest question here - in this day and age do any of the top riders choose to forego data acquisition and use feel instead?
  • 1 0
I´d say many do use it, but most only use it sporadically. It´s catching on slowly, but most use it for preseason prep and seem to mostly skip it during races. Besides Loic nobody comes to mind who has a dedicated data acquisition bike they use during every single race weekend.
  • 2 0
Works well for Formula One, MotoGp and America’s Cup. Surprised anyone does anything by feel, except well, one thing
  • 3 1
I was always under the impression that Minnaar was a human telemetry device, Don't think I've seen any on his bikes
  • 1 0
Finn Iles discussed that at length in a recent downtime podcast if you're interested.
Short answer: Yes
  • 2 0
Thanks for the insights guys. I guess I will cancel my order for a data acquisition bike for the local pump track and just learn to ride better instead.
  • 1 0
Greg is using Motion Instruments telemetry and I´d bet it is used each race. Finn Illes, Joe Breeden, Max Hartenstern, Danny Hart, and the list goes I am sure
  • 1 0
@Hbay: Data acquisition isn’t always to benefit the pro. It informs a lot of product dev too. Ever wonder why bikes keep getting better?
  • 5 0
 My pick is Kerr´s Martini
  • 1 0
I never once Said you didn't have any kind of right at all. However, I'm pointing to the irony of saying you're not a troll when the vast majority of your comments are trolling comments, especially about mullets and similar popular items in mountain biking. I'm not annoyed at all. It seems like you're the one taking all the offense to it. At a popcorn for now. I guess I'll catch up later
  • 2 0
Need a photo interview of the process and company that is painting those Commencal frames. With how many there are, it could easily be it’s own post. Great looking work.
  • 4 0
So many air shocks. I thought coil was king?
  • 2 0
Bernard's bike looks sick, but it needs matching white forks with the martini stripes. Or just "borrow" a set off of the Commencal team....
  • 2 0
Those Commencals are just freakn awesome! Best looking dh hike regardless of brand in many, many years. These paint jobs is the icing on the cake
  • 1 0
I had to double take I thought they were carbon
  • 1 0
@usedbikestuff: yeah it does! Pretty cool
  • 1 0
You're so right man! Perfect look (shape) but Myriam Nicole's paint job is just so fu*&ing beautiful! Pure bikeporn here!! Monika's white and bronze/gold is a close second, then Pierron's red bike in third. Then probably the Cube bike as the paint is pure art. I wouldn't want to ride that bike though, more like a decoration to put on a wall! lol
  • 4 0
How is any bike with an orange fork custom?
  • 3 1
This. Wishing the orange will go away.
  • 2 0
@nschroeter: Definitely time for Fox to retire it, f*cking revolting.
  • 1 0
This issue was brought to you by Crankbrothers pedals - all others are not installed or out of focus in the pics ;-)

Does anyone happen to know what pedal that is that Daprela and Pierron are riding? A new HT?
  • 2 0
Can we talk about Myriam Nicole’s Enve wheels? External spokes and reinforced holes - an updated wheel?
  • 1 0
Anyone has an idea, by when the commencal will be up for sale?
It must hit there sales numbers hard, if everyone waiting for the new model
  • 3 4
The murdered out NS is Solid and I want one even more now, the Cube looks pretty sweet too. The rest look nice too,but they just kinda look like every other Comencal next to it .What I’m waiting to see are the RAMPAGE Whips

Ohh yea and this,
#Bragegotrobbed
  • 2 1
 @Crankhed

I can't believe he isn't going.

Cami is one of my favorite racers just now but really hope she doesn't risk racing this weekend.
  • 2 0
That little logo on Coulange's bike downtube... Boston Bruins fan confirmed ?
  • 8 0
Unless he runs over Marchand with that thing, then I won't be cheering for him anymore.
  • 3 0
If you look the whole team has hockey team styled logos.
  • 4 0
 @rrolly: marchand is the worst!!
  • 5 1
And the Canadiens homage on Cami’s bike…
  • 3 0
Cami did play hockey in the olympics
  • 1 0
 @Coastalbee:

Good eye!

Definitely a sick rig .... Wonder why the Canucks hint tho .... Tis interesting and rad anyway.
  • 2 0
Guessing Boston as it has a B and Montreal as it has a C for logos.
  • 1 0
Maybe tribute to Bergeron and most likely his last NHL season, interesting reference tho.
  • 1 0
@spicysparkes: Is it true?!? She was a hockey player in the olympics before biking!?!?! :O

I wonder who painted their bikes, to put something about hockey on it lol There's a guy in Quebec that does paint for pro bikers so maybe that could be the reason. loll
  • 2 0
I didn't think I'd ever say that about a Cube, but Max Hartensterns' 215 looks pretty damn nice!
  • 3 0
Andrea Kolb, the lesser known sister of Andreas.
  • 2 0
Andreas' sister Andrea's stepping into the limelight
  • 1 0
Commencal bringing the heat! Each bike as great as the next. Also like Vali Höll‘s Trek. That red! And Wynn Master’s Pivot!
  • 1 0
I love that Commencal custom painted there fox forks ....just sets there bikes a step apart. Also it really makes em stand out, in a good way.
  • 2 0
Interesting to see STFU installed on 3 of the Commencals, in addition to the beefy chainstay protector.
  • 1 0
@fatcreations absolutely smashing it again with some top paintwork for the boys and girls, so good to see these weapons built up dude! Good Job - @pivotcycles
  • 1 0
Whats up with those Saracen bikes? Front tires can't be lined up with the rim? Already losing seconds.
  • 2 0
Interesting change to the Session's idler pulley location.
  • 1 0
A lot of them are using Atlas cranksets instead of those fancy carbon cranks like SIXC, is there a specific reason?
  • 2 0
I'm a sucker for race car liveries, go Kerr!
  • 1 0
few dirty dans out there. coulnages even has just on just the back presumably for better braking traction.
  • 1 1
Anyone not running cut spikes is gonna be off the back on Saturday I guarantee.
  • 2 0
Is Benoit on a mullet?? Incredible for someone that Tall!
  • 1 0
Same as Pierron and Daprela; sometimes mullet, sometimes 29er.
  • 2 0
Okay, I get it, Commencals are hot bikes right now.
  • 1 0
Is kolb the first person to put paint/graphics on an atherton bike?
(Blowing my mind emoji here)
Looks good
  • 2 0
 Wheres the GOAT's charriot?
  • 1 0
Andreas Atherton AM is by far my favorite… the cube is also a beauty as well though. Loving the custom bikes lately
  • 1 0
Strong showing for Commencal - great source of advertising.

Why are they a favourite pick?
  • 1 0
Can we just call this the "Custom Painted Commencal Supreme" story each race?
  • 1 0
Still missing a pair of fine Elite Refinish masterpieces for Ronan Dunne & Chris Cummings
  • 1 0
Did Scott do anything special on their bikes?
  • 1 0
It looks like there is more aluminium frames than Carbon fieber.
  • 1 0
I know it's NOT the case, but the Commencal frames look, fragile...?
  • 5 2
According to Paul Aston they actually are fragile
  • 3 0
@WestwardHo: Not only him, a lot of his followers have sent him pictures of their Commencal Supremes cracked at the bottom, I'd say upwards of 20 guys. So yeah the v4.2 is a bit prone to crack, but afton still thinks it's the best performing downhill bike. Not sure about the v5 as it's not released to the public yet.
  • 1 0
@Denyer: so I guess my visual assumption wasn't too far off. Well, that's going to be a hard place to recover from for Commencal. Not every customer has the luxury of getting a new frame for each ride/race. ...not to mention the risk of major injury
  • 1 0
@ticoslayer: Yeah it kinda sucks because the bikes perform so well. Tons of wins and podiums in wc dh. I'm guessing they will figure out the durability issues with the next iteration.
  • 1 0
@Denyer: well there goes the used market on those, yikes
  • 1 0
They surely aren't 6-bar but ordinary 4-bar with shock driven by another linkage from the bottom link. Where's the 6-bar go?
  • 1 0
@WestwardHo: Same as the Specialized Enduro! Everybody are cracking their Enduro but they still say that it's the best enduro bike ever.
  • 1 0
Max, Max, Max the Cube rules.
  • 1 0
Kerr's reminds me of my BMX Ammaco circa 1988
  • 2 0
 Martini livery!!
  • 1 0
Not one pair of sram brakes....
  • 2 0
 vali holl
  • 2 0
 @GauteJohansen: good eye there
  • 7 6
I think they are all hideous, mainly Fox's fault
  • 5 0
Hard to believe anyone puts so much love into painting a frame and then thinks it's a good idea to put an orange fork on there.
  • 1 0
Fast Eddy's Phoenix for the win.
  • 2 0
 White grips!
  • 1 0
 Those are some serious machines.
  • 1 0
 WOW...They all look sick!Smile
  • 1 0
Bernard Kerr's paint jobs are always stunning
  • 1 0
The word of the day, Commencal Supreme
  • 2 0
 Grices Demo sheeshhhh
  • 1 0
Someone lost a bet, is all I can think.
  • 1 1
Good luck to those throwing themselves down the hill on bikes held together with glue!
  • 1 0
How many more Commencals do you want to show?
  • 1 0
We've probably only seen about 1/4 of them so far.
  • 1 0
the cube and ed masters pivot look best. commencals .....lol
  • 1 0
Still waiting for the green Carbon dissents
  • 1 0
I appreciate the motorsports livery on the Pivots.
  • 1 0
those commencals seem legit, sucks i have a nice bike already
  • 1 0
I see bikes with dual DHR2s, but not one with a DHF or Assegai?
  • 1 0
maybe Finn will get a custom jacket for his bike today
  • 1 0
Come on, six different shoots of the same frame?
  • 1 0
Fox X2 features heavily. Was expecting more coils on DH rigs...
  • 1 1
What kind of grips on BK's bike ?
  • 2 0
 deathgrips
  • 1 0
Deathgrips are the best grips if only cuz the etching on the fixin ring. Brendog is my guy for grips #DMR. Only death is real and the grips feel good on the skeletal remains of my hands. They are actually really good grips, too, but I will use them til I die, regardless.
