Hey folks, got a pretty rad build up about to happen in the New Year and looking for some input from the more knowledgeable users here on the site. I'm not looking for little replies, if you think that a part should be considered, please tell me why in this thread. Any comment that is deemed useless will simply be deleted, please stay on track as this is one of the nicest builds we've ever put together at Pinkbike. So far the build will be a medium Yeti ASR 5 Carbon frame, SRAM's XX groupo and DT Swiss' EXC 1550 wheelset.

Headset - Cane Creek 110. Hands down, will match the quality of the rest of the build. Could ask Cane Creek to send you the XXC Flush lower cup and just the 110 top cup to have a badass low-stack headset...
Pedals - Clips or Clipless? XTR spd's are pretty classy... flat out weightless, 4ti EggBeater but they're not as solid of a pedal...
Handlebar - Sunline V1 Carbon 27" is a bit smaller than usual but it's a trail bike so it'll rip. If you want a wider bar definitely V1 OS.
Stem - Thomson. Can't go wrong with a Thomson X4.
Grips - Grey Peaty's. Because they're infinitely better than Yeti ODI's
Tires - Larsen/Crossmark is pretty ideal for a trail bike... depends how gnar you wanna get and what you're riding though really... your call
Saddle/Post - If you go SDG the i-beam BelAir and carbon post are freaking weightless and comfy enough for long enduro rides

Headset is a good idea, although I may run a lower that adds to the ride height, hence going to the 140mm fork over a shorter set up. For pedals, my knees have never been as happy as they are now in Time, so I am leaning towards Time again. All my current bikes have 29s, so I'd like to find a nice 29" bar - low to no rise. Thomson is rad, but has been used to death and there are some sick players out there now. The grips are really old and I found them in a shop a few years ago, wanna run em for history sake and then I'll swap in to a lock on of sorts. Tires - THinking UST for sure on this set up - just did Jordan's Turner with UST High Roller and Crossmark combo, so I am thinking it would be rad to explore other companies on this one and looking for 2.4 and smaller to say 2.25 sizes. Saddle and post, adjustable height post for sure - I hear KS and Gravity Dropper are working on I-Beam set ups, so maybe that is the way to look.
Tires wise- I went thru the whole gamut of tires last year, schwalbe, maxxis, kenda, michelin... ended up with conti. I run EVERYTHING tubeless, and conti has a lot of offerings in that dept. Im running Rubber queens(trail king now, renamed the tire) and the traction is amazing, and they roll well. If you want more xc-ish, they have a few more rolling resistance oriented offerings too. A few different compounds, proper sizes for their intended use, and they have sizes that actually measure as their marked size! Really pleased with their tires.
Adjustable post- Im running the KS i900... flawless so far. 5 inches of adjust, the remote is DURABLE (something the C-bros is not), has no/EXTREMELY limited head play (cant feel it in your butt, unlike the c-bros) and is easy to teardown/rebuild/maintain.
I like the choices you've made with most components and will comment on what I would change or suggest for the ??? parts.
Headset- Cane Creek 110 with the normal stack to give a slightly more slacked front end. http://canecreek.com/component-headsets?browse=name&name=110&product=110
Pedals - are personal preference if you are running clips so go with the Time pedals of your choice.
Bar - Nuke Proof Flat bar oversized. Just trim it from 760m down to where you like your bars. http://www.nukeproof.com/bars/warhead760.php#barsflat
Stem - I like the Point One Racing Split Second [50] limited edition nickle plated. http://www.pointoneracing.com If you don't want to trim the steerer tube of the fork as needed with this stem I'd go for the local Race Face Atlas AM stem. http://raceface.com/components/stems/20/
Tires - Give the Continental Rubber Queen a try. They give a really good amount of traction, come in at a good weight and roll reasonably well.
Saddle - WTB Devo ti - or personal preference. Saddles are somewhat of a personal choice.
Seatpost - go with a AMP post. I've yet to hear of one that has issues and it is a reasonable weight compared to hydraulic posts. One other thing to note is the remote cable for the post stays stationary when the seat is raised and lowered and therefore won't rub your frame like with the other hydraulic posts. http://www.precisioncyclingcomponents.com/amp.aspx
Do not get a Devo Ti seat... Devo seat's are flimsy trash.
Not that I want to e-fight with you on this, but Devo's are far from flimsy trash. I've had 2 for the past 2 years ridden year round twice a week and not a single issue with them apart from scuffs from wiping out.
Seats are a very personal item on a bike like pedals and grips. Some work for some people while others don't. I find the Devo comfortable for several hour 'epics' so I have one on my AM bike and another on my DH bike because of its smaller size and light weight. It's a solid seat that I have yet to break.
That's enough of a reason for me to call them flimsy garbage.
My Bonty Racelite Ti has lasted almost 3 years, comfiest light seat I've tried so far.
And how did you shatter them? Bad landing? or just riding along. The bike is Yeti ASR 5 and likely won't be jumped by Tyler so my guess is even a carbon seat would work if it was comfortable enough
For wheels, I think you should look at the dt swiss tricon 1550, UST compatible, looks like a solid design, and DT quality can't be a bad thing. If you are planning on using the DT swiss tubeless kit, my dad had some DT rims with UST Specialised tyres and the DT tubeless kit and they worked, but not very well. Leaked air and sealant heaps, and were a pain to setup with new tyres. If not the tricons, you should look at I9's on Flows would probably be a good idea.

I have run a Devo in the past and much prefer the Silverado from WTB for my bigger ass! Should I go the railed over I-Beam route, I think that I will run a Silverado, but the Fizik Tundra looks interesting too. For I-Beam it would be Bel Air or Formula.
