so, I just know this is the small one....... how can I never notice, I allways think I had the small one, the gray one....... F**K ME ! I really like this color, I don't know can I still find this color some years later.
i have a 2008 giant stp 0 frame, previously had the same year but it was the ss version. anyway to the point I'm trying to run my 0 frame single speed but have had no end of problems using various different types of tensioner, does anyone know where or if I can get one of the chain tensioner things that come as standard on the 2008 single speed frames? or does anyone have any advice/ other solutions (preferably avoiding buying new chain ring/ rear sprocket)
my drive train is 36/16 which is super awkward as it means the chain is too long when used normally, but too short if I try and run it with a single half link in it. it also means when I run a fixed tensioner (eg the gusset bachelor) i cannot run it so it is pushing up on the chain as there is not enough tension, but when i run it pushing downwards on the chain the force of pedalling just pulls it upwards, releasing all the tension in the chain, causing it to skip. the same thing happened when i tried a spring tensioner that pushed outwards on the chain. i have currently resorted to using an old derailuer as a tensioner however it is apparent this will also cause problems as now the chain bounces around loads (as if it were geared) meaning i'd need a chain device to keep it in place. oh and did i mention it looks ugly as hell.
anyway any solutions or advice would be much appreciated! (just bare in mind i have pretty much no money)
Let me know what you guys think of my new stp. Just blinged it out today. I'm more of a all mountain rider but I thought this would be a good all around bike i.e. trail, jump, street. Try not to give me too hard of a time on the length of my seat post. HA!
This is exactly what I want to do with my STP, Make it into an all mountain/trail bike since i have upgraded to void frame for my dj
