You have to be sure your using the right crank puller. There are two different kinds and if you use the splined one on a taperlock you will just strip the crank.

I almost peed my pants reading this one, comedians can't write stuff better than this. Well at least you learned the difference between splined and taper. Better luck next time.
Sorry that it broke! At least you tried! Better luck next time. Be careful with the threading, and I think maybe the part that pushes the crank off went inside the BB spindle. I've had that happen with ISIS cranks before.
