But looking around there aren't many easily attainable options for the kinda price range I was working with. Mtx's are heavy, rhino lites are finicky, dart more shit is next to impossible to get(only weird f*ckin colours on 26bikes) mavics are above my price threshold /rim, as are the todestriebs. Can't find 36h halo's or velocitys anywhere. All in all f*ck Canada sometimes. Ended up settling for mtx 33's any way.
MTX series is my go-to for when big fat dudes bring their sub $500 commuter bike in to my shop after they've demolished the stock rear wheel and broken all the spokes. they're relatively cheap and strong like bull
The lightest decent 36 hole rim I could fine through Lambert and Ltp was alex supra 28. I've been runing it on the rear for two years and its still perfectly straight
I made a carbon top cap to test out the feasibility of using 3D printed moulds, it worked and I know the reasons for all of the problems/imperfections so it will only get better from here.
