And in the Android docs, this is what the Android OS provides, magnetic https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/sensors/sensors_position#sensors-pos-orient
So that other app must do some of it's own calculations to determine geographic north.
"geographic north is dependent on your position on earth and the current date"

Absolutely. That's why the compass app is requesting location permission. The option is visible at the bottom of first screenshot. Hope you can address that.
Magnetic declination also changes with time. Have a look at https://www.geomag.nrcan.gc.ca/mag_fld/magdec-en.php, scroll to "The diagram shows the change in declination at several locations in Canada." Vancouver seems to be one of the most affected places on Earth, both in current absolute value and it's variability in time.
Wow, that was a bit of an eye opener. I am using "Just a Compass" by "PixelProse SARL". Tested a few apps using the same method, switching between mag and geo north and orienting the phone. Magnetic: All Trails, Fatmap, Strava. Geo: Google Maps, Gaia GPS. The latter makes it the most obvious, with it's "sliding scale" compass.
I'm just wondering if adding a bike computer overlay to the trailforks app has or will be considered. I have inserted a screen shot of what I use now in a different app. I would be great to just use trailforks. Cheers Mike
Still getting 2 separate ridelogs as if 17 October.

I added my Garmin account to sync my 530 riders with the Trailforks. First time was fine, I got 1 ridelog, now every single ride I get 2 ridelogs, 1 from trailforks, 1 from the Garmin..
Why is this? Besides removing the access, any idea what's causing this?
I tweaked the Ridelog duplicate detection, lets see if that helps.

I looked at your ride logs and I'm fairly certain you are still using the TF app tor record rides as well as your GPS. There is a Garmin imported ride shown and next, an Android imported ride. Recording twice is a sure fire way to get a duplicate.
With the Garmin, just record, have your phone sync'd (or setup your wifi on it) and it will auto submit the data to Garmin Connect. Trailforks will get that info within seconds and add it to your ridelogs. There will be no name associated with it, so you'll have to go into the TF account and edit the ridelog, its just an added step. Don't even use your TF app for recording unless there is just a different section you want for mapping or editing.
What the heck is this? Opened a trail called Summit in The Turkey point, On trail system and saw a shipping cart for car parts at the top of the trail ..

How do I add a Link or upload the image?
Summit on Trailforks https://www.trailforks.com/trails/summit-104178/
If you browse the trail, at the top there's all sorts of shopping cart images that someone has uploaded.

The other issue may be if you are using a speed sensor with your Garmin account. Some of the speed sensors used for Garmin, wahoo, etc. can act as stand alone devices that don't need to be paired to a computer or watch, they just automatically upload to your Garmin account at the end of an activity. To remedy this, check your Garmin account ad look to see if it is listed as a device, if so, delete it as a device, but you can still pair it to your Garmin Watch or computer, or Strava account under Speed sensor. This will eliminate duplicate recordings.
